Lynn,
hope everyone has a better day tomarrow at your house.

well its been raining which just adds to the humidity around here. But hopefully it will drop the temperature a few degrees.

Pat, hope you had a good time at the craft sale. did you buy everything there??? Hope you saved some spending money for the islands.

well I am off to bed, I am tired tonight.

I will check in tomarrow and see what is going on. It was pretty quiet on this thread today. So I expect everyone to make up for it tomarrow.

Kathy

Great ideas - I especially like the one for him to give to me, lol. But you're right - i never th ought of those snacks and puzzle books is good - I think we've got a plan here.

"Well I am going to wake DS up for his bath and then a bottle" You're kidding, right? Once I got mine to sleep I would NEVER EVER wake him up. lol It was the only time I got a rest.

Did anybody else get that email from Sonny Listen about the possibility of a tour & Beach in St. Maarten? Anybody going to do it?

You go, Kathy! I wrote mine from work, but I'll try to remember when I go in on Monday morning.

WEnt looking for a regional gift today - this could be more difficult than I thought. . . How does one capture the call of the loon, the smell of wood smoke, the lapping of the lake on the shore and the color of the mountains in an ornament? hmm.

That sinus sounds terrible - hope you feel better soon!

Sleep well!

:thumbsup2 Shell: I forgot to mention thanks for the updated list...
the map is really great....

Now a questions for the MEN!!!! or wives.....who is wearing a tux and who is wearing just a suit? :confused3 just curious Wally was interesting in knowing. Thanks

Have a great evening everyone......We are sooooo close to our goal only 96 more posts.......

Denise....a suit is about as close as I get to "dressed up". I doubt the opinion of a mutt is gonna sway Wally one way or another but I'm raising my paw in response, nonetheless. Dark suit, some brightly colored shirts and a few tasteful Disney ties....(No, there will not be red converse high top sneakers---sorry to disappoint).

Have a good evenin everyone

Good Morning All    ,

Well I did get a few hours sleep which was great :cheer2: !! Today is another cold day here in NY. It has also been soooooo windy the last few days!! Today if DH isn't painting and he can watch DS I want to run to Toys R Us to get DS a Elmo Halloween DVD. Well DS is still stuffy and coughing and not himself :(. At least he got sick before the cruise  !! Going to make :stir: :stir: :stir: a pot of gravy for my meatballs and spaghetti. Yummy!!! Going to also make so coffee and french toast for breakfast and also bacon!! Talk to you all later!!

Denise: My DH is bringing his suit for Palo's night and formal night!!

Linda: I have to wake him up at 600 or630pm for a bath and a bottle because if I let him sleep in will be up at 12 midnight and then he is very hard to put back to sleep at that time. He thinks it is play time at 12 midnight :sad2: !! I just got used to sleeping till 530 am .

Denise: My plan right now is to have a tuxedo. I don't know if I will rent one or buy one off of E-bay. Heck, I have 5 weeks to decide that! ;) I will wear the tux to formal and semi-formal nights most likely, and wear a suit to Palo.

I hope everyone has a great day today. Kathy, say "Hi" to Tigger and Eeyore for DW and I!

It is starting off slightly rainy this morning and then supposed to get really cold....I am so happy! :Pinkbounc Need some cool weather around here!

I can tell you this is a huge debate around our neck of the woods. I wear suits to work EVERYDAY, and don't want to wear one at all while on vacation. My dad doesn't want to wear anything while on the boat but shorts, T-Shirts and flip flops, and doesn't really even want to be bothered with cruise casual clothes. But in the interest of being exposed to the high society life, and eating somewhere that doesn't serve just hamburgers, I'm wearing a suit for semi-formal night and was under the impression that if you didn't wear a tux for formal night you "felt out of place" and "ruined it" for the rest of the folks who have a tux.

Besides you people are in trouble anyway, my kids are eating with us. The other day when we were in a BBQ place someone slid their chair across the concrete floor, my son stood up in the booth, pointed his finger in that direction, and announced to everyone in the restaraunt that, "Someone over there has gas."

So I ask you, will a tux really add any class to my meal?

Steve

Morning everyone....

Kathy...have a blast at Disney....

Bob...honestly...whats "cold" for you folks....where does the temp become uncomfortable for you? I never lived anywhere that didn't have a cold season so I'm curious.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

Another wet, gray day here so far. :sad2: Might even have s--- flurries later! :furious: Magic -- take me away!!!!!!! :beach:

Denise -- my DH will probably just wear a dark suit for formal / semi-formal nights.

Hope everyone has a good day, and that those of you who are a bit under the weather are on the mend.

Kathy -- have fun at WDW! Will try to get more letters to DCL!! :thumbsup2

To those of you whose college teams lost yesterday, I feel your pain!  :faint: Huskers lost a heart-breaker yesterday. :furious:

Talk to you later,

Cheri

:rotfl: :rotfl2: that is sooo funny!!!!!

I told him a suit was fine....but who am I??? He just wants to make sure so he wont feel out of place. So thanks everyone for the feedback.

Cheri: I see you almost said the naughty S word.....we dont even want to talk about that. :rolleyes1 I just got up a little while ago and yes, it is gray, cold and just plain yuckky here..

Well I really need to get motivated and get going around here. But this is one of thoes lazy days.....

Talk with you all later.

Steve,

My understanding is that pretty much anything (except jeans & shorts - though you'll see that, too) goes on the different nights. I think you're right, the ones who don't dress up may feel more uncomfortable. But, I don't think you'll ruin anyone's experience with what you wear.

From what I've read on these boards, most people tend to wear either a dark suit & tie or tux for formal & semi-formal nights. Some have been spotted in cruise casual on all nights.

Kathy and other veteran cruisers can probably offer more insight!

Another option for avoiding dress codes would be to eat at Topsiders. It sounds like they have a nice dining option for those who don't want to go to the dining room on a particular night. It's still table service (and they serve the same things as on the main menus), but with salad bar instead of all the appetizer choices. I think we may check it out on one of the nights.

I'm sure they've seen it all on DCL as far as kids' behavior!!!! Your kids will probably be better behaved than some of the adults! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hope this helps!!!

Cheri

P.S. Bottom line -- you're on a cruise -- there are NO rules! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hello Everyone,
Do you think I have to dress up DS everynight for dinner too??? He won't be eating in the dining room. I am bringing Gerber Baby Food. I want to dress him for formal night the rest was going to be short sets or what is ever comfortable for him!!

Good morning Banana Heads

A gray, cold day here in Ohio ... with the "S" word in the forecast for the next couple of days. :crazy2:

Steve, you have just confirmed that Cullen is going to be my little buddy on this cruise :rotfl2: ! And as for the tux vs. suit, just look at the awards shows like the Emmys and Oscars and you see that both are perfectly acceptable.

Denise, we got Bill's suit at (everybody now) Kohl's. It's a beautiful charcoal pinstripe.

Linda, I got the e-mail from Sunny about St. Maarten, but we had already made plans for that day so I declined. Are you going to do that tour? Oh, and I forgot to mention that that little gift for you in Bruce's basket? Make sure you put it on HIS credit card :rotfl:

Bob ... you do NOT have 5 weeks to decide on a tux! You need a couple of week for alterations! Geez ... men ... :headache:

Sarah: Water shoes ... go to swimoutlet.com. Really good end-of-season prices.

Got one thing checked off my list yesterday, going to try for a couple more today. Will check in later ...

Mutt qustion is cold to us down here is the low 60's thats when I bust out the sweaters, we rarely ever have a need for a coat. I think the lowest it gets is the 50's for the most part. It did snow here 2 years ago on christmas

Thank you, Wendy, for that incredibly cryptic hope-no-one-sees-me-do-this-here-at-work post. :lmao:

As someone who wore a Tux on the last DCL adventure, I can tell you that there was such a mix of everything that you won't feel out of place in anything (literally). The people at the table next to us had on jeans and t-shirts, which I found completely inappropriate, however I'm considering khakis, a jacket and maybe a tie (possibly a suit) for formal night...and will be among the best dressed there if my last experience is any guideline. I suspect it depends on the crowd on each individiual cruise...but I actually felt a bit overdressed at Formal night in my tux and feel now like i've "done that" so no need to go there again.
