Wiggles concert questions

Just took the kids to MSG in NY this morning to see the Wiggle show and they loved it. Near the end of the show Anthony announced Greg had been doing the tour with a double hernia and would be returning to Australia after today's show to have surgery. Thought I would post it in case anyone is taking the kids to see it so they would have some time to prepare them that Greg won't be in the show.

OH NO!!!!!!!! I just read the post above about Greg!! We are going on Thursday to see them. Greg is my favorite!! UGH! I am so mad!! My dd isn't going to be happy either. Crap.

:guilty: :o  :( :sad1: :sad2:

So jealous!! We took ds to see them in 2003 (drove from NC to PA to do it too - well, that and visit family!). Dd now is such a Wiggles nut, and they're not coming to my city on this tour (didn't on the last one either). They'll be in Orlando when we're there Thanksgiving Week, but couldn't justify spending the extra $$$ and time on that when we're already at Disney! Plus, I'd have been pretty upset to miss Greg - Anthony was out when we saw them in 2003. Did they say who will fill in? Brett Clark played "Anthony" when we saw them.

Yes - JCPenny for shirts. I got dd a toddler boy shirt there, I haven't found any "girly" Wiggles Shirts, although they have plenty of girly pajamas.

I wonder how they could replace Greg since he sings so much of the main parts of the songs????

SOOOOOOOOOO bummed. :o

I brought DS in August and we had a great time. We brought a rose for dorothy and a bone for wags. We were on the 5th row.

We are going to the Wiggles Concert this Sat and we have 5th row seats also, did you find that it was hard for the kids to see over the people in front of you? :paw:

No, not really. DS would either sit or stand on the seat. He didn't really like to stand because if he stepped too far back it would start to fold if I wasn't holding it! It scared him. For our show, the stage was higher than we were sitting so they were sorta above us. Here are a few pictures of our view:

Thanks for the advice. I might just wait and buy them shirts at the concert. I didn't want to have to pay $20.00 or more for t-shirts, but if I can get them each around $10.00 or $15.00, that isn't too bad. I can't wait (I just may be more excited than the kids).

The funny thing is, I don't have kids of my own, but I think Anthony is kind of cute  . My sister called in to the radio contest as kind of a joke, and ended up winning 4 floor tickets. I had to call up friends and ask if I could take their kids to the concert.

Hi - I live in Australia (home of the Wiggles) and my daughter used to love them (she is almost 9 now and way to cool for the Wiggles). Anyway, thought you might like to know that Anthony was Cleo magazines Bachelor of the Year a few years ago - all the mums love him. Enjoy one of our best exports!

We are going Friday in Greenville, SC. I hate to hear that about Greg, but I had read on the Wiggles message board he was supposed to have surgery in January, so I guess he just couldn't wait. I know before Sam Moran (I think I have that right) has filled in for Greg. I saw him fill in on Regis and Kelly one time when there was a death in Greg's family.

It should still be a great show!

Does anyone have an update on what they are doing if Greg is out? We go to the show on Monday in Orlando.

Don't forget to prep your little ones that they won't be able to present the roses to Dorothy herself. My DD freaked about not being able to hand it to Dorothy herself. She and her dad actually made a Dorothy hat with roses. She was so excited to show it off. Of course I didn't realize she meant to Dorothy herself.

Also, they used to do Dorothy and friends shows, not sure if they still do. We saw Dorothy, Wags, Henry and Captain Feathersword. At the end they sent a couple of characters out to the lobby. We were obviously hoping for Dorothy but were satisfied with Wags :dog: and the Captain pirate: . Great pictures and she was somewhat happier. We did meet the person who was in the Henry costume. He had a video camera that took still pictures and he took her picture. He explained that he was a friend of Dorothy's and he would make sure that she saw the picture. When we went to see the Wiggles later in the year, he was actually one of the dancers collecting the roses. Both concerts were great. Have a good time! :rose:

My DD and SIL took my DGD to the Dorothy show 2 years ago, and she had a great time. It was in a small concert hall, so it was conducive to little ones dancing and singing. Kids were able to give their favorite dinosaur roses back then. She has since attended Wiggles concerts twice, and is as enthusastic about them. They are so much fun for kids! :flower:

hi!!!!!!!!!! Just back from the Wiggles!! (well yesterday)! Yup Sam filled in for Greg. It was a great show. I was a little teary eyed when they came out and there was no Greg but they had a tape-recorded video of Greg talking to us telling us that he is sick and needs to go to the hospital to get better...etc etc.

My dd had fun but I SWEAR I had more fun!! Sam sounds alot like Greg but his voice isn't as loud, but he did a pretty good job. Kinda looked like Greg a little but was a little soft around the middle. :rotfl: He wore a yellow shirt, short-sleeved though, compared to the others long-sleeved shirts, but the same pants.

I am sure that the 2 year olds had no clue that it wasn't really Greg. Sam kinda stayed in the back though...he didn't perform any dancing or anything whacky like the other 3 ...he was sort of like the "host" if you will.

The show was great but I can see where it would have been REALLY great--- like complete-- with Greg. Anyway, it was funny cause there was this mom in front of us and she and I were dancing and singing more than our kids were!!! :rotfl2: we turned to each other and just laughed about it.

I would definitely go again. I had a really great time overall.

And oh my...Anthony *is* a HOTTIE!!! OMG I didnt' realize it before, maybe its cause he lost a little weight, but wow very cute! yum! :goodvibes
The thing that really struck me is how SKINNY Murray and Jeff are. The Wiggly dancers came out to collect the bones and roses for Dorothy.

I can post pictures when I get them back. I forgot our digital camera so I had to buy a disposable one before the show. Oh! And the t-shirts were $15.00 and the other things, like the lightup wands and the fluffy featherswords were $15.00 too.

applechips: Glad to hear y'all enjoyed the show! I also remember noticing how skinny Murray is. It shocked me! When we saw the show in August, Greg wore a short sleeve yellow shirt while the others wore long sleeves. Not sure why.

We were at the 3:00 Greenville show yesterday too! It was great and we thought Sam did a great job! We had been to the Dorothy the Dinosaur show before and he was one of the hosts at that show, so we had seen him before. (Plus he is on a good many of the videos). Anyway, it was great (actually our 2nd concert - last time being in Atlanta) and if anyone ever gets the chance to go, you should do it. They are all so full of energy. In fact, it took me forever to get a picture of one of the dancers (Ben) because he is just all over the placed. He was the one who was dressed as the fish, fyi.

Oh, and I REALLY like Anthony too!

Sandra
