Wierd Disney Tales

Renovators in It's A Small World may be working alongside more than hydraulic children. A co-worker's mother requested that her final resting place be in the "Happiest Place On Earth" and inside her favorite ride. Each family member carried a little on board the boat and dispersed her ashes throughout.

I've actually joked with my family about doing the same with my remains. Although not anywhere near IASW. That song over and over again in the afterlife is not exactly my idea of heaven.;)

goofyernmost I asked for almost the same thing! I said that I wanted my ashes to be distributed in WDW. I don't care where or when (if they want to wait a year or something) but that I wanted my final resting place to be at Disney World. I like the trip idea, I will tell them that also.

Great thread, keep the stories coming.

I can't tell you how good it is too know that I am not the only slightly off center person in the world. I didn't really expect that my kids would be willing to do it and I was kind of half joking when I said it, but had I received a positive response instead of the "it's time to put dad away" look that I got, I might have forged ahead.

Now that I see it in print, I have to wonder, how many times that may have already happened and no one will fess up to it! I guess they really couldn't go public because there is only room for one more haunt in the HM. We could be looking at an over crowding condition here.

:crowded: :scratchin :rolleyes1

I'm not sure if this story is true. But I heard that On Big Thunder Mountain RailRoad (Disneyland maybe) a guy stood up while on the ride to touh a stone or something and his head hit a rock and flew off.:(

My Dad always said he wanted his ashes to be sprinkled off the Channel Two Bridge in the FL Keys, and Mom said she wanted her ashes sprinkled from the Skyway (those cars in the air that went from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland). Dad passed in '96 and we sprinkled him off the bridge (didn't go all the way down to the Keys, he had another bridge he liked in Hutchinson Island that he found after the trips to the Keys). Now I'm wondering, what to do with Mom now that the Skyway is closed? Guess I'll have to ask her...

WEIRD STUFF GUYS. I HOPE THE ASHES ARE STILL BURRIED WERE THEY WERE SUPPOSEDLY FOUND.

I WOULD BE THE TYPE OF PERSON TO MAKE SUCH A REQUEST LEAVE MY ASHES IN WDW. ILL BE HAPPY FOR ETERNITY.

:teeth:

Disney could add another walkway with dedication stones. Underneath could be the ashes of WDW lovers buried in the happiest place on earth. Sounds like a money maker to me.

Just FYI, not to dwell too much on it, but for you folks who want your ashes scattered at WDW, or in any other public place ... be sure to note to the crematorium that the ashes are to be scattered in a public place. They will process them to make sure that the dust is ground very fine.

If they don't know the intent, your loved ones could end up with particles that are a bit larger than you might have been expecting. It's pretty impossible to discreetly scatter ashes that are in that condition.

I think this happened quite recently - within the last year or two, however, I don't think his head flew off. I think he was just killed.

Interesting thread!

Thanks - NotUrsula - I was wondering about that. The only ashes I've seen, are my dogs, which were quite a bit different then I had expected....

BeverlyLynn, in my siggie, wanted her ashes scattered at WDW. But, her parents didn't cremate her. So, we shrunk down pictures of her & cut them up into Bev-Fetti, mixed them with glitter & sprinkled her about last Jan. There were a half-dozen of us wandering the World, leaving bits of her in all her favorite places. It was a Blast & a perfect way to say good-bye.....

I hope someone will do the same for me someday. My family is very clear on my wishes & no one thinks it odd. I guess they all expected something like that from me.

Regarding deaths at Disney, I found this link about deaths at Disneyland and this about the girl on Body Wars.

Go to Snopes when you get a chance - they have an entire section devoted to debunking and finding the truth about Disney rumors and urban legends.

The other story is about ToT. Apparently, one of the original CMs was an older man who went into cardiac arrest and subsequently passed away. It is said that his spirit hangs out at ToT and if the CMs don't greet him properly in the morning, he'll cause problems in one of the elevator shafts. Also, they say that b/c there are so many antiques in the lobby and libraries there are a lot of spirits associated with them who make themselves known from time to time. Again, who knows if it is true but definitely a cool story.

Darn. I searched and searched, but I can't find a link. There was a similar thread not so long ago and I had found a neat link regarding the ghost at POTC. It sounds vaguely familiar to this. I think it was a murder love story and the CMs must greet him in the morning and at night or else the ride is plagued with problems.

I love these! I crave for more ghostly stories from The World. It's interesting cool, but some of the stories are sad. Mostly the ones about the stupido teenagers...luckily, i ain't one of them!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :(

Okay, now I'll never be able to ride BTMRR again without thinking about flying heads and POTC without thinking of Uncle Chuck!!

Seriously, though, a young man died last year on BTMRR in Disneyland when the cars became detached. I believe he died of trauma to the head, so this may be the accident that's bring referred to. How sad and horrible.

People have also committed suicide by jumping off of the observation deck at the Contemporary.

Great...Now i can't go to Chef Mickey's for the character breakfast this week....:( And i was looking forward to Mickey coming to our table! ::MickeyMo

Best thread I've read in ages. I hope the stories keep coming. I'll be sure to check back. I'll never look at WDW in the same way again. My next trip should be interesting.

I leave the day after tomorrow...*shivers* i don't want to see any ghost(except Maybe Walt) in my favorite place on the planet

From what I remember, that was a Disney employee and yes, since then, everytime I pass through CR on the monorail, I can't help but think of it. I wish I could get it out of my mind. It was sad to hear. :(
