Wierd Disney Tales

I remember that - It was at the Boardwalk - an enstranged Father.... I don't know what happened....

People have also committed suicide by jumping off of the observation deck at the Contemporary.
Actually it was an employee on his break sitting on top of one of the the walls on the 15th floor when some wasps started swarming him and he started to swing and lost his balance. That is why they are now covered with the aluminium that rises to a point.

I also remember that about the father. It was around June 2000. A father held his own children hostage and an employee (I think a housekeeper) in one of the hotels after he and his wife split up. To the best of my memory, police got him to let everyone go and everything turned out ok.

The hostage situation happened sometime between June 30th and July 2nd 2000. We were down there with DH's whole family, celebrating DMIL and DFIL's 50th wedding anniversary. They were staying at the BW when it happened. It was resolved after a few hours. It was pretty scary at the time.

I jokingly told my father that I was going to scatter his ashes over the MK to save money on the funeral. He just looked at me and said "no way am I going to spend eternity in one of those streetsweepers, they'll come along and suck me up right after the parade!"

Lol! I want to be in COP, "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday, it's a great big beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow is just a day away, man has a dream, and that's the start, he follows his dream with mind and heart, and when it becomes a reality it's a dream come true for you and me! So it's a great big beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow is just a day away!"
I go to Disney in 34 hours! yay!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Most of the deaths at DL were due to guest stupidity. They'd jump between ride vehicles, for instance. When the cleat came off the sailing ship Columbia, killing the guest, that was probably the first time the negligence was Disney's.

And then the Big Thunder incident happened last year. :(

At WDW, the only deaths I can remember in recent years for cast members included the guy who was swept off the skyway platform, and the character (Pluto?) who was caught under a parade float. Horrible tragedies.

I love that site, and I was going to mention it if I hadn't seen
someone else beat me to it. :)

You know....I've got a packet of my grandparents ashes here to be scattered. Perhaps I'll take a pinch or two to WDW....they never were able to go there. My grandad passed away in 1977 and my grandmother just recently joined him. Everyone in the family has a packet for their gardens....and some of my gardens are definitely the ones at WDW!

I know my dh would want to be scattered at WDW too!

Crazy that someone managed to bury an urn though! And we'll remember to say hi to Uncle Chuck!

Hey maybe disney will Pick up the ashes thing. Disney can create an ash graveyard type thing, where people can put thier love one's ashes there and so people can stay at disney forever. This good because the people will be at disney forever and This is good for disney because they are making money off of it.

It would be creepy if ghosts start popping up, riding there favorites rides forever.

From what I understand, no children or guests saw that incident. I happened backstage before they entered Frontierland.

"tomorrow is just a day away!"

Don't want to be overly critical but I think the words are, "tomorrow is just a dream away". You are the one that is about a day away from being there. Have a great time!

:sunny: :teeth: :sunny:

I shall have fun...i always do! Well anyway, i can't watch the Share a Dream come true parade now.

"tomorrow's a day away" is from Annie - The Musical, track title "Tomorrow".
