Why would a DVC member purchase trip insurance?

Just a word about that volcano erruption that delayed and cancelled so many cruises...the trip insurance DID NOT COVER THIS. It was considered an act of God.....

Some do, some don't. Every insurer has its own list of exclusions buried in the fine print. That's certainly something worth looking for when considering a travel insurance purchase.

For most US travelers, covering an act of God is a large part of why they buy insurance in the first place. I suspect many carriers are re-thinking their volcano riders after last year's events, but I wouldn't buy a policy that didn't cover other "acts of God" like rain, snow or hurricane-related delays.

OK... So I gotta ask. Some of you have inferred that you saw the announcement on the members' site. It's not on mine. At least if it is, I can't find it. Just a bunch of outdated stuff about D23 and Christmas stuff.

Where is it? Is there something wrong with the site I'm using/logging into (dvcmembers.com)????

It has its own link under the MY VACATION section of the webpage, right under: Point charts, calculator, etc. Last in the list: Travel Insurance by Travelex.

I finally found it. Thanks.

Gee... to be such a big deal it sure seems to be in an obscure place.

You are most welcome!

I agree it's in a weird place - I went on expecting it to be right on Home Page, or in the News section.

Ok so the medical exclusion clause says buy before paying dues. My dues are automatically direct withdrawal each month? so does anyone know how that would work? Personal but I had a melanoma removed over a year ago but I have to go and get scans and am I guess undertreatment(have oncologist at Dana Farber, Boston) do you think that would exclude me? Thanks for any info . Carol:goodvibes
