I paid off my WDTC package on 7/5 and was wondering why I never received any confirmation of this, i.e., tags, etc., so I called on 7/23 to inquire about it. The CM told me that my "package" went out on 7/16 and that I should have it "very soon." He commented on how slow "snail" mail must be, etc., and he laughed. Fast forward to today--I receive the letter, and guess what date is postmarked on it? You guessed it--7/23!

I just don't understand why the CM couldn't say, oh, sorry for the delay, I don't know why it didn't go out, but I'll get it out to you today, etc. Instead, he chose to "fib" and sent it out after I spoke with him.

In any case, I now I have my documents, however, my requests are not listed on the confirmation (like the first one I received after I booked). Do I call WDTC back and ask if they are still there or just leave it alone? Also, my first request was for a non-smoking room, but now that the policy is smoke-free, do I ask them to remove it so that I have a better chance of receiving my other requests?

Would like your opinions!
TIA!:yay:

People are strange. I have to admit, though that I have worked for companies and just started with one that does not want people calling in to know about the behind the scenes chaos that goes on. I do conference calls and I got a speaker for the call and was having trouble getting them to the right place, the computer system was messing up, but I knew from training that I needed to calmly ask them to hold and not give too many details. We don't want them to know that everything is not in tip top shape. My company is very customer service oriented, so I may not fib, but I do skirt the whole "things are screwed up" answer.

I also work for a doctor's office, and out contact lens person is scatter brained and always orders the wrong prescription or lens. One of the reasons I am leaving is because the office manager keeps hiring people who can't do the job and I have to pick up the slack. I wouldn't dream of telling them the contact lens person is an idiot, I just say there must have been a mix up. Makes the lab look bad, and us look good, and if I want to keep my job the only way to do that is to make the doctors look good, not like people that hire incompetent people!

Saying that, in your situation I personally would have just said "Sorry for the delay, we will get it right out." I jsut would not have alot of details, lest the magic disappear!

Is there a chance the information was re-sent since you had not received it yet? Also, they might have thought it HAD been sent out but later review showed it had not. I hate to jump right to dishonesty, but that's just me.

Why do you automatically assume he lied and then to cover himself he personally printed and mailed something out right after you spoke? He's just working from a screen. He has no control over the delay between when the "package" was printed or assembled, and actually mailed.

Because the package sent out on 7/23 got here today. That took all of three days. I spoke with him on 7/23. Just too coincidental for me. The supposed 7/16 package would have been here last week and most definitely this week. He never said he would be sending a new one to replace the "delayed one."

But a better question might be, why do you have such an attitude? I can always count on someone like you to fan flames. I'm not biting this time, tho.

Have a Disney day!

It may have been printed on the 16th and mailed on the 23rd. He would have only seen when the printing took place on his screen. I would not think he "lied" to you. Why would he bother? He doesn't know you and doesn't make any commission based on your happiness.

i would call wdtc and make sure my requests were listed, especially if you have health issues that make them necessary. in my case, i personally asked that my request for a non-smoking room be kept on my reservation, as i'm severely asthmatic and allergic to cigarette smoke and can't sleep in a room that was smoked in before the no smoking policy took effect. i paid off my package on 7/13 and haven't received any documents either, so perhaps the department that issues them is just behind (or maybe understaffed?) and the CM was giving them the benefit of the doubt?

You should call back to see if they have all of your requests better safe then sorry.

Good luck with your vacation and hope its memorable.:thumbsup2

My guess is that the package was printed and/or assembled on 7/16...the date the computer showed. However, after going through the "process", it was actually postmarked 7/23. I find that things that I drop in a mail box in WDW are not usually postmarked the day that I drop them...even if I drop them early in the AM...not sure why. I have dropped postcards in the mail box the second or third day of our trip (a 7 day trip) and beat them back home!! I am sure the CM did not "lie", he only gave you the info that his computer screen gave him. The Important thing is that you now have your documents...I would call to confirm your requests...however, I would let them know you are requesting a previous non-smoking room so you do not risk having a "residual/stale" smoke smell  especially if non-smoking is important to you.

I would also call them and make sure your ressie is correct.

I see your from Central NJ too, whereabouts? I'm from Edison:thumbsup2
