Elizabeth Taylor Fox documentary...why???

So who is alive that saw her movies from 1956 to 1968 being her last successful film..on the big silver screen???..who is going to sit and rember?? Who is the target audience that must know the details of a interview about a life that has been subject to many interviews and magazines ...842 on eBay of which 37 sold. When Redford died I watched as much as I could on antenna tv... because he was part of the fabric of my life...I didn't know that Bagger Vance was his project...as many times I have watched that movie over and over.
Sure Taylor was a super star from 1956...1968...and I guess my cinema professors thought our class had seen those significant movies as they were never discussed or shown
Those born in the 40s & 50s? My mom would qualify.

I don't get why you are so invested in this. If you're not interested, don't watch it. Seems pretty simple. Fox thought they can make money from it. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. The way you're coming across, it sounds like they're spending your money.

Lassie Come Home!

Having Rough Collies growing up I was a big Lassie fan as a child. I was born in 1983.

[eta] Elizabeth Taylor was in this film as a child, I forgot to say originally.

I don't think the criterion that makes a Hollywood legend relevant today and worthy of a documentary should be that people living now have seen all of their movies. When I see Kardashian and FOX linked, I'll run in the opposite direction, but not because of the subject being profiled. I'm not a big Elizabeth Taylor fan (outside of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), but there's no denying she's part of, pardon me, Lina Lamont, "the cinema firmament."

This is a weird post, are there people who have never watched old movies, old tv shows, listened to old music? And enjoyed it?

Yeah, I don't know why CitrusCurtis is so het up about this. He questioned whether Fox's NFL or Simpsons fans would know and care about Elizabeth Taylor. This series is airing on Fox Nation, which doesn't show NFL games or The Simpsons, so that question isn't even relevant.

I bet even Fox Nation's programmers aren't as emotionally invested in the success or failure of the series as CC is.

Elizabeth Taylor in fact made a couple of appearances on The Simpsons, notably saying Maggie's first word.

Not all media is intended to be consumed by all. What's the point of starting threads just to poop on people/things that others enjoy?

NFL fans??? Simpson fans?
Fox Nation is a streaming service. Like Hulu or Disney or Paramount, etc.

Not just one station. A whole multitude of stations with a variety of interests that allows Fox to dabble in several different genres. With those who watch Fox News skewing older, it makes sense that they would know who Elizabeth Taylor is. D

From Wikipedia. You can look for their entire lineup online.

Fox Nation is an American subscription video on demand service. Announced on February 20, 2018, and launching on November 27 of that year,[1] it is a companion to Fox News Channel carrying programming of interest to its audience, including original opinion-based talk shows and documentary-style programs featuring Fox News personalities (which, as with its parent network, are produced from a conservative perspective), outdoor recreation-related programs, and other acquired programming. It also offers next-day streaming of Fox News primetime programs.

Why are you trying to pick a fight?
Isn't there a separate board for that?

Here in the UK Elizabeth Taylor is held in very high regard for both her acting skills and her great beauty. Her tempestuous relationship with Richard Burton is perceived as one of the great love stories of the twentieth century.

As ever, your mileage may vary.

Not picking a fight... just having a discussion.. back and forth...as a cinema student and teacher of a few films I am intrigued so I put out a few nuggets of wisdom to see if anyone is really interested in her and in the process seeing if anyone else has observed why Fox purchased the content
