Why on earth is Le Cellier so hard to get?

I get that everyone wants it because they have amazing food (from what I hear, never been) I have my heart set on this, but can't get an ADR... I was on the computer at 6am and nothing... Please oh please someone tell me a secret or anything I don't know in order to get a reservation )

CALL and keep calling. It's totally worth it.

The restaurant is very small, maybe 100 or so. And meals take a long time...we were there 2 hours. So, compared to a big venue, they can only take so many ADRs per day.

And definately NO walk ups. We consistantly see folks turned away from here. Lunch is great too, if you were trying for dinner.
Early and late seatings are easier to get than regular dining hours.
Try inputting 15 minutes earlier or later than you had been, sometimes the computer can be tricked, but calling is your best bet.

I was really disappointed to not get this too.
A co-worker had said it was good (mostly paying for the atmospere) and said I could get just as good of a steak at Coral Reef (which I booked).
I tried a few times then decided to give up--our last ADR I booked was for Biergarten. I know it won't be as good or even close, but it was our last chance to use a TS free dinner.
I tend to think that it would have been difficult to get our baby in there if he happened to be asleep in his stroller. At least that what I keep telling myself.

Besides the fact that it's popular, Le Cellier has relatively small seating capacity.

No tip for getting an ADR is sure fire, but here's what I would do:

Hopefully you're staying on site so you can take advantage of the 90+10. Pick a day for Le Cellier that is in the last few that you'll be staying at Disney. This way, fewer people have had the chance to make ADR's for those days.

I had a lot of problems with the online system Sunday when I tried to book. So I called at 7am when the phones opened and I was able to book Le Cellier - for the last night of my 6 night trip.

Otherwise just keep checking the online system any time you're near a computer. Once in a blue mooon someone cancels. I was trying to get in to Le Cellier for a trip in October that was planned less than 90 days out. I just keep checking for Le Cellier. One day, I actually found an opening for lunch, but the day and time didn't work for us so I didn't book it.

That's when we were there. I would say from checking in to walking out the door it was around 2 hours.
But...we had small children, bathroom trips, and some special requests (allergies.)
We did not find the service to be slow, it just takes a while total.
If you have appetizers and/or dessert, that figures in.

We found it to be a VERY positive experience, and appreciated the quiet, darker, cool (a/c) atmosphere. And our kids also loved it, which is saying something for such a nice restaurant. They really treated us and them like royalty!

But wasn't really thinking about the timing when I booked it. It's a dinner reservation and it will involve 3 parks in one day which is wayyy to much for us and especially on our first day of parks. But everyone tells me I should keep it. What is so special about Le Cellier. This trip is for the kids and I don't think they care about a good steak. Please clue me in. Thanks!

On day 90, I called-in (on-line hadn't started yet), got a couple of ressies, and the system crashed-lost them all. Called back a while later, and got just about everything I wanted, bub had to settle for a late Le Celier for 7 people. This was a problem, because one of those seven was 13 months old, and would probably not have been in a good mood by dinnertime. I checked every day for two months, and finally got a 5:25, on a different night. Ate there beginning of this month. As usual, good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd say that dinner took about an hour and a half.
Don't give up trying!

It's probably hard to get because of the cheddar cheese soup, I still dream about that stuff!
Did you try an off time, like 3 or 4? We've eaten there early, around 11:25 and it only took about 1 hour.

Just my opinion. It is good to eat here. Not the best. Not better than other steaks I have had. I ate here last week and my steak was just okay.
Now all 4 of us got the Filet @ LC and all 4 of us got Filet @ France and France was a million times better.
I only eat steak and eat steak in almost every resturant except the Italian ones.
It is hard to get in here cause it is pouplar and the resturant is small.
And everybody wants to eat here.

I LOVE LC, but I don't think I'd do 3 parks in one day with small kids. You'll waste lots of park time commuting.

Can you get something in one of the other two parks?

If you tell me which ones, I can try to suggest something!

What day and how many people did you need the reservation for? Right now, we have one booked that I'm not sure if we are keeping or not---probably won't know until closer to the trip.

Did you try for lunch? We were out of luck for dinner but could get a lunch, actually two lunches, no problem. Keep checking on line and check many different times. It is good but if you don't get to go it is not the end of the world. As others have said, you can definitely get a better steak at other places. To the PP that said they probably couldn't get a carriage with a sleeping baby in you are absolutely correct! The tables are jam packed together. Good thing you couldn't get that ressie.

If one of the parks is DHS, then you could use the back entrance to Epcott from DHS and cut-down on the traveling.

I was online at 2am CST, this morning! It was worth it though. I knew I would be taking a chance, waiting until the lines opened at 6am CST, especially since we have 14 in our group. I booked online, for a party of 10, and a party of 4. Both at 5:50, we were looking for 6:00, but what's ten minutes?? Just happy I was able to come through for our GG.

In my opinion, they have good food, but it's not amazing. Except the mussels, they were awesome. I don't order steak in restaurants so I don't have any idea how the steak is.

Le Cellier is probably one of the smallest restaurants at WDW. According to another post I read here somewhere, its maximum capacity is only 160 persons.

I don't think you could have brought a stroller in to keep a sleeping baby in. The room is too small and the tables too close together for strollers. I am pretty sure the strollers were parked outside.

Since we aren't staying at a disney resort, I have to try to book online each day. I tried calling but even the woman I spoke to said there was nothing for lunch or dinner

I am gonna set my alarm for 3am and hope that works.

There may not be any reason for you to think of it as "spending more money on food" as everyone on free dining paid rack rate for a Disney resort and Shades of Green offers substantial discounts on deluxe accommodations. Chances are you'd be paying more for the same type of accommodation at a Disney deluxe resort, even with the free dining.

I think it's so popular because when the Dining plan came out it was a great value because the prices are almost Signature Dining prices but it only uses one TS instead of 2.
