Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

Which technically is true. It just might be that I read it in my own post because I THOUGHT I read it somewhere. I mean, it's totally semantics..... 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😂

Had to come up with something to take the heat off Riviera where they pulled off magically dropping the Mediterranean into the Caribbean.

The mistake was using the word “Lodge”. We now expect a lodge look, a lodge feel, in a location well themed to being Fort Wilderness. I would have accepted keeping to the original Reflections at Fort Wilderness. RFW.

Now we will be floating down the lazy river listening to “Just Around The Riverbend” on loop.
The mistake of the word lodge goes perfectly with the pairing of cfw and the mistake of the word cabin. Now im convinced theyll be rolled into one huge mistake. I AM KIDDING (kind of 😉)

I'm not asking for much but maybe a waterfall feature or a couple of small water spouts? I'll be honest I was pretty underwhelmed by SABs pool and it's lazy river when I stayed there so I hope it's a step up above that. I still love BCV but that's more for it's proximity to Epcot and the hot tubs.
I felt the same way and so did all of the adults we traveled with. If it wasnt for the proximity to epcot, we wouldnt consider staying again. Epcot is my favorite park so I do consider it when booking

I am old school I guess, But I really like the old school theming. Set Disney accommodations apart. Very immersive and really kept the magic going. Now it is more Marriott or Holiday Inn Express. I had High hopes for Poly Tower when I first heard about it. They could have really kept the poly theme going, but nope, built a generic product instead.
I love PIT but I agree way more creativity should have gone into the outside of the building

It’s Disneys land we don’t get to decide how what they build fits with the scenery. I think the choice DVC has made to go with cheap materials and not grand luxury theming is sad but even with that I am happy there will be another DVC property to choose from. That is exciting. As a DVC owner there’s no way I would want them to stop building. VDH was stuck where it would fit and has terrible views from most rooms but it gives more options of places to stay while visiting, and getting a room at a Disney resort is what I signed up for. I didn’t sign up to preserve the land at WDW.
Just got back from vdh and the preferred room they gave us was a joke. It was top the top of a building, the street with passing cars, but on the right you could see the palm trees over the pool (Not the actual pool) so they said it was because it had a pool view 🤣 We also got to see the very tip top of some fireworks at night, but def should have been classified as deluxe studio

I feel the same as you, im not too excited about it and feel like this theme is overdone, but new hotels are always beautiful and the lazy river is happening which is something to be excited about staying there.
New is always good. But this isn’t appealing to me besides the lazy river. That’s all.
