Why on earth is Le Cellier so hard to get?

Sadly... I got up at 2:45am and NOTHING!!! I really wanted this to celebrate my husbands birthday with a special dinner. He was deployed last time we tried to go to Disney so finally this is our big trip... Just wanted to do something special for him because he is our hero. Oh well... :confused3

I was so happy to get Le Cellier for dinner on Christmas Day!!! So excited! Keep trying, there are cancellations and you may get lucky, also be flexible with your times. Good Luck!

Besides the fact that it's popular, Le Cellier has relatively small seating capacity.

No tip for getting an ADR is sure fire, but here's what I would do:

Hopefully you're staying on site so you can take advantage of the 90+10. Pick a day for Le Cellier that is in the last few that you'll be staying at Disney. This way, fewer people have had the chance to make ADR's for those days.

I had a lot of problems with the online system Sunday when I tried to book. So I called at 7am when the phones opened and I was able to book Le Cellier - for the last night of my 6 night trip.

Otherwise just keep checking the online system any time you're near a computer. Once in a blue mooon someone cancels. I was trying to get in to Le Cellier for a trip in October that was planned less than 90 days out. I just keep checking for Le Cellier. One day, I actually found an opening for lunch, but the day and time didn't work for us so I didn't book it.

Good luck!

We had the same experience, almost. I couldn't get online to work for me, so I called and was on hold for 1.5 hours. When I finally got a reservation agent, there was nothing. My husband called back about 15 minutes later, no wait on hold, and scored a lunch ADR on our last day there--a Saturday no less. :thumbsup2

Today was the 90 day window for me and there was a LOT of Le Cellier ressies available. I'm going Dec 17-26 and didn't even plan on getting a Le Cellier since they were supposedly so hard to get. Just for fun i looked for it and I had my choice of days AND times! I picked a 5:00 (my family eats early) on a Saturday. The same Saturday had a 5:30 and 5:45 slot available this morning. They also had 2 other days with multiple times available.

I figured I would ask one more time, even though I've asked on this thread already and also sent you a PM. What day/time are you looking for Le Cellier and how many people in your party? I have a Le Cellier ADR in December that I'm not sure if I'm keeping yet and if it is at a time that's good for you, I'll let you know when/if I plan to cancel.

Hi Anne,
I'm sorry... I was so tired that I read your post but it didn't register... I'm not sure what a pm is...I was looking for Dec 17th as it's my husbands birthday. At this point I don't care if it's for lunch or dinner. There are 5 Adults and 3 children. I'd be willing to dump the 3 adults if I had too just to get in :rotfl:

If you were to decide to cancel, how do you go about transfering it?

Thanks for asking :o)

According to posts I have read, they will allow you to substitute sides with an item that is served as a side with another entree. If you want to substitute an item that is available only as a separate side (like asparagus), they will not allow that.

This is true, we originally wanted to substitute poutine for a side, they wouldn't do it. They would have given us fries only, not poutine.

If you order from the three-course fixed price menu, you cannot substitute anything - not even the sides.

While this menu item indicates no substitutions, we were able to have them substitute mashed potatoes instead of Yukon potatoes with the prime rib. So they will substitute a side. I think they say no substitutions to prevent people for asking for appetizers or deserts that are not an option, but if you get the right server and ask, they may take care of you. Just be sure to tip them well. The worst they can say is no substitutions, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Look again. I booked this morning and the system was not working properly or so I thought. I had 7 adrs for LeCellier during a 3 day period. I would not have known, but I called to book BBB and the agent said WOW you are eating alot!!! We had to go thru and cancel multiple bookings for the same reasturant and same time. Thank heavens I called!!!

Hey there, glad to see you got back to me. I guess I should have just said Private Message, but the DIS lingo is just too embedded in my head. ;)

Fortunately, the Le Cellier reservation we have is for December 17th at 8:00pm. Unfortunately, it's only for 3 people---so I guess that wouldn't work for your party, even if you dumped the other 3 adults.

Technically, you can't trade reservations anymore, so I was just going to maybe speak to you through PMs to discuss what time I would cancel, so you could look online to book it.

If for some reason you figure out a way to maybe get the kiddos watched by some of the other adults and want a ressie for just you and DH, let me know. If not, I'm sure your DH will appreciate whatever you do for his birthday. My DH was in the Navy for 8 years so I can definitely relate with wanting to do something extra special for your hero. :)
