Why is MGM's Parade so late?

I just noticed this the other day that the Stars & Motor Cars parade is at 5:30pm. I made all of our ADR's for around 5:30 every night. The day we are at MGM we will be eating at 50's Prime Time, is there any chance that the parade will go by us while we wait for a seat?

The rule of thumb is that if Fantasmic is later in the evening, the parade will be performed later than usual as well. When Fantasmic is performed earlier in the evening, the parade will be performed about mid-afternoon.

From the Prime Time, it's possible you may be able to see some of the parade, but because the route goes by on the opposite side of Echo Lake than the restaurant, you probably will get a pretty obstructed view.

I think that time is going to change next. MK hours were changed a couple of days ago & AK hours were changed yesterday. Check WDW site:

When I went in October 03, the parade was at 3:30. I beleive that it was the same time in October 04, too. So, most likely, it will be around that time this October, too.
