Why does the TSA assume you're a moron?

I would love to hear 1 example of a TSA physically forcing anyone to get on a shuttle and leave the area.......

Many times people take the authority and get scared.... TSA probably doesn't even realize the are separating people......

Best bet is to be firm and calm and nothing physical should be needed..... I have honestly run into 99% very good, nice TSA agents...... maybe 1% have been idiots..... I am sure it comes with stress of the job.

I worked airport security (pre-TSA) and it honestly sucked. I can't imagine what it would be like now a days...

We repeatedly told the TSA agents that we were waiting for the rest of our family to get thru security. We were walked over to the tram and told to get on. As in, they walked towards me, and I either had to let them run into me or back up. As there was another adult still with the kids, my sister and I backed up and boarded the tram.

Honestly, I was intimidated by the agents. I still don't understand why they did what they did and had us get on the shuttle without the rest of our family. And I have no idea what they would have done had I refused. Would they have detained us all? Just yelled at me? Just how much authority do they have?:confused3

Blueshirts at airports rely on intimidation and unquestioning cooperation from "fares." That's why they have badges, to make them look like cops. People who are given orders that would jeopardize the well being of theeir family members need to know that TSA blueshirts are NOT COPS.

Their power begins when you enter the checkpoint, it ends when they clear you through security. It may begin again if they set up a preboarding checkpoint at the gate of a departing plane. Even when they have power, it is limited and you have the option of calling a real COP if a TSAer is making questionable demands.

Elsewhere, they are just citizens like us. We are free to ignore them and anything they say.
