why does everyone hate the nemo ride?

Love the Nemo ride. I don't understand the hate for it. Yes it's cutesy and it is for children, but so is TSMM, the castle, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, meet and greets, and character dining. After all this is WDW.

I find it interesting they have such a long queue area for a ride that never has a line. It takes 5 minutes of walking to get from the entrance to board the shell.

I have seen the line out the door and past the special Nemo and Friends picture taking spot. It does happen on occasion.

I can have a beer anywhere and anytime, but I can't ride Nemo whenever I want to.

Wow. Never seen it anywhere near that long, even in the middle of July. I'd hate to see what the other lines looked like. :)

This is from back before it was Nemo themed and was "The Living Seas." They used to have a short movie to watch that slowed down the line a bit, if I recall correctly. I can remember moderately long lines for it back in the day.

Personally, I LOVED Living Seas, and while i don't hate the Nemo version, I don't like it nearly as much. I wish there was more view into the aquarium like there used to be. i do like the part at the end where Nemo is projected "into" the tank. That looks cool. I do still very much enjoy the "Seabase" portion as it used to be known. The Manatee tank is awesome. I still consider this worht doing.

I like the ride. It was my daughter's very first Disney attraction experience on our first visit and she was so enthralled by it all. We did Epcot on our first day. Maybe it's sentimental to us, but it brings back memories - happy ones :) - from when she was little.

I really like the Nemo ride lol. Infact I'd ride it over and over again if it meant that I didn't have to go anywhere near Soarin. I don't understand the 'hatred' towards the ride, same goes for the Stitch ride in MK. Don't like it? Don't ride it. ;)

I love cute children's rides, but we found Nemo disappointing. I expected it to be on par with PP and WtP and I didn't think it was at all. We always ride early in the morning when it's a walk-on and my kids see it at as the way into the aquarium, which they find much more interesting. We did think Turtle Talk was much more fun that we expected.

I love it. I think it's so cool how Nemo and Dory are swimming thru an actual aquarium!! I'm such a dork lol.

I got a great idea. Why doesn't Disney make all there rides with a 40 inch height requirement so there will be nothing for children to ride (sarc.). Seriously folks. All rides cannot be based on what adults like.
My guess is if there was a DISBoard for children 5 and under, they would be arguments like what do people like about Sace MTN? It is dark and too scary, who would ever ride that?
Disney tries to ensure there is some stuff for all ages. I ride the Nemo ride when I go. IS it my favorite ride? No. But there is nothing wrong with it. I know ultimately it is to appeal for children with the bonus of the Aquarium after the ride.
Oh and my 12 yo twins love the birds in the front when they start their mine, mine, mine routine.

Don't like it? Don't ride it. ;)
I can't speak for everyone who isn't a fan of the ride, but I don't ride it. This thread, however, specifically asked why people don't like it. People aren't needlessly griping, we're answering a question. Don't like it? Don't read it. ;)

I did my CP at the seas with nemo and friends and turtle talk with crush. it is a kiddy ride and not a whole lot to it but the kidos seemed to like it. Never really had a line and no every really got upset at Nemo. it was an awesome job :thumbsup2

Now turtle talk with crush is awesome and the #1 rated show in EPCOT give nemo a whirl one time and you never have to do it again but you MUST do turtle talk with crush go anytime outside of 10 am -2 pm tho for minimal wait :goodvibes

No one in this thread has even remotely suggested that Disney World should not have attractions that appeal to young children. It is perfectly reasonable for anyone, regardless of their age, to dislike this ride.

Lol.:thumbsup2 I never implied anyone on this thread was griping as such.

Anyway.. I never experienced the ride before Nemo was added. What was the ride like before?

.

My issue is that there are ways to make rides with no height req. and still make them have some thrill and fun to them. Look at PoTC, Maelstrom, Dumbo, Peter Pan. All are no height req. and yet still have some 'thrill' to them or excitement. Just sitting in a clam shell and moving on a straight platform through relatively boring scenes doesn't do it for me.
