Ok, so DH teaches high school and no one seems to be able to explain this hat trend. I don't get it! Where did it come from?!? Was there a pracical reason which turned into fashion? Is it a status thing? And what's with the stickers?

Can anyone explain this to me? And BTW, I'm not judging this "foregin" (to me!) trend. Afterall, *in my day* it was cool to wear your clothes backwards! :rotfl:

I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you referring to people wearing baseball hats putting the tips of their ears under the cap? I do it sometimes depending how the cap is cut/made, otherwise it jabs me uncomfortably behind the ears or makes my ears stick out. Has nothing to do with fashion. Then again, I wear a baseball cap about 5 times a year.

I remember back in the 80's the ears were always tucked in the hat. It was a definite fashion trend. Now it's wear the ears untucked.

However, I have been noticing a LOT of 80's fashion trends seem to be popping up again! :scared1:

I'd guess it's so you don't look like your Dad. My son is 13 now but when he was into baseball a few years ago they all wanted to wear them off to the side. It drove the Dads up the wall which was, I guess, sort of the point, it had no point other than to be different.:upsidedow

Man, apparently I am no good on my own! Someone really needs to come coach me on how to dress. I often have my ears tucked in my ball cap. Most caps are uncomfortable if I wear them any other way (guess I have a small head or something!)

Then again, when I was ten I had a pair of combat boots (literally, a soldier gave them to me and I was so proud of them!) and a pair of parachute pants. That was my favorite outfit ever, combined with a random baggy thift store tee. I don't know how my mother let me out of the house like that.

I guess fashion sins come naturally to me! :rotfl:
