And you CAN'T buy wine at WalMart!

I can. :confused3 But, I don't go to Wal-Mart very much. Too crowded & a little nasty at the one by us.

In VA, you can buy beer and wine in the grocery stores, but ya gotta go to the State ABC store to get the hard stuff......

NH is the same way. But in Massachusetts, there is no alcohol in grocery stores. They just lost a referendum last year to change it - the liquor stores (private, there, not state run) launched a huge campaign against it. It's a pain - D stops at Trader Joe's just off the border every once in a while and can't get the wine there.

It's funny, I much prefer red wine and white gives me the bigger headache. But, I think it may be that I drink it faster because it's cold and goes down more quickly? :drinking1

We do every week! :snooty:

You gotta deal on the wine DM.

Oh, and I've got an explanation for our wine-fetish: Have you ever read the A.A. Milne book, Daddy Drinks, Because you Cry. :thumbsup2

i had sangria tonight. it was white. it was yummy. i can only drink white wine.

Okay. First of all, it ain't crap. Second of all, the red gives me a headache if I drink too much. Third of all, I like to drink too much. Fourth of all, you will buy me a glass of chardonnay or pinot grigio whenever we meet. Fifth of all, I like to drink too much. Sixth of all, uhm, I like to drink too much? :rolleyes1

Oh yeah, seventh of all, I don't shop at Walmart. Plus they don't sell liquor in grocery stores here. You can only buy beer and wine coolers. You have to go to a liquor store to get the gud stuff. My favorite place is Pascale's.

Eighth of all, when are you gonna buy me a drink?
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

But believe me, we milked that one for all it was worth! I cannot BELIEVE I am old enough to have a high school graduate!!! They grow up way too fast. Before I know it we'll be putting the college graduation photo on the Christmas cards! It was great seeing the photos of your little ones enjoying Disney - I'm sure you treasure them!

Did you see my suckup? Better than Jo's! :thumbsup2
No DM were you trying to compete with me or something :snooty: :rotfl2:

In VA, you can buy beer and wine in the grocery stores, but ya gotta go to the State ABC store to get the hard stuff......and that's next door to WalMart! :thumbsup2
We can buy alcohol in all our grocery stores (we call them supermarkets) wine, beer, spirits everything :rotfl2: Even our little corner shop sells alcohol oh and garages too, maybe that's why we have so many drunk kids :rotfl2: also they can drink here legally at 18!!!

And then the teenager said "this is so lame.......we gotta card everyone....even grandmas" :headache:
:rotfl2:

Last month I got carded in Food City buying wine!:cheer2:
It made my day and I thought "wow--I must look really good--not like I'm pushing 40 at all"

And then the teenager said "this is so lame.......we gotta card everyone....even grandmas" :headache:
That one totally cracked me up grandma! :lmao: At the grocery story where I go to the most, they card everyone. In fact, if Rob ever is with me in line, they will card him too. I guess there are just way too many under 21 that look a lot older. I have always looked young. princess:

Ours is pretty dirty too. I go there occasionally if there is something that I really want. I really love Target.

What's wrong with Walmart? :confused3
Dirty here.

I didn't think you were that young but then, again, you never know ...

You don't owe me one but I'll still let you buy me one!

This thread must be hung over after last nite!
Nah. I had 1 glass of wine and then went to bed.

No DM were you trying to compete with me or something :snooty: :rotfl2:

I remember when the NY legal drinking age was 18. They changed the law to make it 19 years just before I turned 18. Then when I finally turned 19, I got to drink a whole year and right after I turned 20, they raised the age to 21 and they didn't grandfather anyone who was already legal. So, I was legal for a year and then not. El-sucko! :headache:

I will hold you to that, even if it is years down the road ... I have a good memory! :teacher: And I've never heard of that wine fetish thing. I'm almost afraid that I'll have to Google it and see that you're just messing with our heads again.

i had sangria tonight. it was white. it was yummy. i can only drink white wine.
I've heard of white sangrias but it just seems natural to have red ones!

Only red for me, unless it is champagne! Had a nice glass of merlot with dinner tonight!
Little Mrs. La-Ti-Da! :snooty: :lmao:

Did I actually see a post about Sangria using "white" wine!?!?

Oh good grief! :headache:
Spoken from the man who buys his wine at WalMart ... :confused3

Wow the drunken thread :lmao: And whats wrong with white sangria??????

Sangría is a wine punch typically from Spain and Portugal. The word sangría comes from the Spanish sangre meaning blood. It typically consists of:

  • red wine,
  • chopped or sliced fruit,
  • a sweetener such as honey or orange juice,
  • a small amount of added brandy, triple sec, or other spirits.
  • gaseosa, which is soda.
