You sound like some friends of mine. I think the most mature thing they ever did (so far) was realize that right now, they are too selfish to give a child the love and attention it deserves so for now, they're not planning on having any children. So many peope have kids because it seems the thing to do, or the time, or whatever, and I just applaud those who realize that this is a life-changing event that may not be for everyone! These friends make lots of decisions I don't necessarily agree with, but that one I had to applaud, because they're right!Originally posted by CJK
VERY interesting thread! Thanks for posting. We don't have children and are still very undecided whether we ever will. We have children all around us and while I DO enjoy spending time with them, I enjoy going back to our quiet, orderly home where we can relax and recharge. I hope that doesn't sound too selfish. I just worry about what I'd be able to give a child. I'm very interested in hearing what other people have to say.

It's more of an urge or a desire than a simple choice. At least think it should be. If you're not ready or have ANY doubts whatsoever a colicky newborn is the last thing you need!![]()
I know I'm rambling, but, on the other hand, I totally applaud those rare individuals, who have, for whatever reason, decided not to have kids.
