DH thinks he has it figured out. He said that most people won't adjust their habits so you will probably stay the same way you have in the past. That said, the weekday points went up a little for each day. Let's say 2 pts per day for a total of 5 days = 10 pts. Even if the Fri/Sat went down a few points per day, chances are the stay is still costing you a few points more. This makes you use your points faster. If they really wanted to increase weekend occupancy, they would have lowered the weekend points much more. He made it sound very logical (I'm just hitting the treetops here) but ultimately, your stay will probably cost you more unless you adjust your habits and for most of us, that would be hard for many reasons.
What really urks me is that the raised the add-on to 100 pt minimum before this change. He said it would have resulted in too many small add ons - not worth the paperwork to Disney. People will just go to places like the Timeshare store and pick up small contracts. It really doesn't matter to Disney who owns the points. And for those who really need more points and will add through Disney, they are very happy to help you.
