WHOSE Luckier than me?! The January TR!&March PTR!**LINK TO NEW TR IS UP!!**

Oh my, it's been a busy weeks!

Where to start?!

First, my loving, wonderful, spectacular DH bought be an early birthday present!

He bought me the new camera I reallllllllly wanted!

He let me have in now so I can get to know how to use it before our trip! My birthday is 12/28. That's not enough time to figure it out! It's a whole lot of camera! But, I love it and it takes great pictures!

I've been practicing...
[ DD studying for her spelling test, DS asleep in the high chair, some grouds at the farm, a halloween sign at the farm, a tin man at the farm &

Second, the busyness that my life has been this week!

Monday I went on a pumpkin picking field trip with DS. It was a lot of fun!

The kids are so cute! When I got to the classroom before the trip they were still going through their early morning routine. The teacher picks a name of a bin everyday and that child gets to be the star helper for the day. DS was the helper! The class does a little cheer for the child whose picked. DS was so proud and excited! Not only was he star helper but I was there to see it!

Tuesday and Wednesday I took a class to be a Brownie Leader! Boy oh boy! It was a little overwhelming! It was a 6 hour class called a Brownie Dazzler. Who knew there was this much to being a Browne leader?! I came home with soooo much stuff!

A stack literally 6 inches tall! DH asked me what I got myself into! This coming Monday night I'm having a meeting (as advised my the Girl Scout Council) with the parents of the girls who are going to be in my troop and next Wednesday is out first meeting! :scared1: Wish me luck! I have to figure out what we're going to do at the meeting!

Tuesday after the class I was able to go to Dollar Tree for some Disney stuff! Thank you AUdisfan for the suggestion!! I got some good stuff for the kiddos Mickey Mouse Chirstmas presents!

Tueday night the kiddos have swimming lessons at a local indoor swimming pool. DD earned her very first ribbon!! She was so happy and we're so proud! She really worked hard for it! She used to be scared to put her face in the water! Now she wants to be the next great Olympic swimmer! She's come along way! I wish I had a picture but inside the pool area its about a million degrees and I was affraid the camera lens would fog.

So, on a WDW front Disney Dining is going to start taking ADR's through March 22nd this weekend. Don't you know it we arrive March 23rd! :headache: Oh well! I guess I'll wait a little longer and dream a little more :rolleyes1

That's it from me for now! Hopefully my next update will be more interesting!!

Congrats on the new camera! You're already taking great pictures with it.

You're definitely braver than I am taking on the Brownie troop leader challenge. I'm a much better leader's helper than a leader when it comes to stuff like that. It's wonderful that you're willing to give your time and effort to the girls in your troop.:thumbsup2

I'm so glad you were able to find some stuff at the Dollar Tree. Between that and the dollar aisle at Target I've got some pretty good stuff for our trip and Christmas stockings.

Yeah for your daughter on the swimming!:cool1: My 5 yr old also hates to put her face in the water so we're waiting on the day when she's like your DD.

Too bad about the ADRs. Soon though.

Enjoyed the update.:)

A little, quick update. We live in a summer community and our neighbors on the south side of our house are only here in summer and weekends in spring and fall. Their an older couple, their very nice, they love our kids and the dog. The give the kids cookies and the dog treats, even a piece of steack once!

The man has been doing some home improvement. He painted the outside doors to the basement a few weeks ago and terrible shade of bright yellow. Well, he painted their shed today.

The same shade of terrible bight yellow!! The basement doors are one thing, it's not that noticeable. The shed stares me in the face everytime I look out our back doors! It's blinding!! I'll post a picture on Monday! :cool2:

Hey just joining in and thanks for joining my PTR! A fellow Long Islander is alwayssss a great person to meet, I also live on the Eastern end of LI, I wonder if we live close to one another? Your family is beautiful!! I'm suuuper jealous that you get to take 2 trips in 3 months as well...as you know we're going in April but I've already told my BF taht I want to go back in December around Christmas time. I'm also waiting for SWA to release their fares for our dates, I called them and they come out on November 6th, just so you know. We want to fly into MacArthur too, its sooooo much easier. We unfortunately had to book our flight into Orlando through Delta because of a credit we had with them so we'll only use SWA one way. Enough about me though, your plans look great! That's really exciting for you that you and DH get to go to WDW alone even though I'm sure you'll miss your kids. I bet they're just so excited for their January trip though. All the outfits you made look great, you're very talented sewer. (seamstress? idk what the correct word would be haha) Well I'm going to go sub onto your March TR because I want to read it (I hope its still taking subs!) and catch up on that later :goodvibes

Those are the moments we mothers live for..Again I will say how much I miss my boys being little I want .and need granchildren

I was amazed at how much Disney stuff the Dollar Tree has..I love that store.

Tueday night the kiddos have swimming lessons at a local indoor swimming pool. DD earned her very first ribbon!! She was so happy and we're so proud! She really worked hard for it! Hope you get all the Adr's you want.

That's it from me for now! Hopefully my next update will be more interesting!!

You are always interesting..now go get such much needed rest you will need it for those little Brownies.

Congrats on the new camera! You're already taking great pictures with it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well with being a Brownie leader! I don't have a co-leader yet! So, it's all me!

Dollar Tree was great! There was so much stuff! I got some Mickey Mouse paddle balls, Mickey Crayons, puzzles etc, I also got a bunch other stuff too! I'm also a big fan of the dollar section of Target too! At my Target they have it right by the entrance they always have such fun stuff!!

DD was still scared to put her face in the water up until about 2 months ago. The second her face went in I swear she thought she was drowning and I could see the panic on her face when she came out! Luckily her teacher is great and I told her that I thought fear was her biggest problem. She really helped her work through! Now she swims long ways across the pool without a second thought!!

We live in Mattituck! I love it out here in "god's country" as DH calls it! I love the beach & wine, so I'm in the right place! I grew up in Northern NJ and it's so much nicer and more relaxed out here!!

MAcArthur makes traveling so much easier!! Going through security there with the kids is so much different and incredibly more easy!! I love getting out the car and being at the gate 15 minutes later!! Plus it's so much closer! I looked the other day to see if I could get a good deal from Jet Blue from LaGuardia. I paid $119 each way for our January trip on SW. To take Jet Blue in March it was $104. But traveling the extra distance and the added hassle of LaGuardia isn't worth $15. If they had them for like $75 I may consider it. But, we'll stick with SW.

We're very excited to go in March without the little ones. But, I know for sure when it's time for us to come home I'll be missing them terribly! That's why we're only going for 4 days. Anymore and I'd be hoping the next flight and skipping the rest of the trip!

You are always interesting..Try to get some much needed rest you will need it when it comes to those Brownies.
Have a good night.

I don't know about that! My kids would probably tell you I'm terribly boring and we never do anything fun!

I'm definitely going to need rest for the brownies! I have 13!! 13!! Oh my!! 13 7 year old girls! I was thinking before that I definitely have to stop at Starbucks on the way to the meeting!

Oh wow, not too close to me, I live in Shirley (the area gets a bad name but it's not nearly as bad as everyone thinks it is I swear!! :) )but I work out in Riverhead so lots of people that come into my job are from out your way. I actually work with a lady who lives in Laurel and another that lives in Cutchogue. I will definitely agree that out east is sooo peaceful. We took the ferry from Orient a few months ago and just driving out there was lovely.

Flying out of the NYC airports are definitely a pain in the butt. For $15 it's not worth the hassle of going into LaGuardia, you're 100% on that one. I'm hoping to catch a DING! fare on SWA for our return flight in April ($99 would make me the happiest girl alive lol) Looking forward to reading more :goodvibes

Oh and I keep forgetting to tell you how much I love your "mickeysmyboy" username haha:laughing:

I read your TR and now joining in for your PTR. Your doing a great job. I like the things you made for your trip. I am not that crafty at all. Scrapbooking is about all for me. How did you make your mousekeeping envelopes? DS and I were going to make something to put the tips into. I like the envelope thing. DS is also a star wars fan and will be going to DHS for all the star war things you can do.

Your camera looks awesome, Melissa! :) I'd LOVE to have a camera like that. Your little guy is SO cute sleeping in his chair! :lovestruc The photo of the gourds looks very professional. That's so cool that you're going to be a Brownie leader. What kind of stuff are you planning on doing with them (and I don't think they'll think you're boring ;) )? You have to show us a picture of the hideous yellow shed. :rotfl: I love the cute "ghost" you have sticking up in your yard! :) What did you all get from the Dollar store for the kids? Would love to see some pictures of that. :)

:lmao: LOL!! I know it's not bad in Shirley! I used to work with quite a few people who live in Shirley and Mastic. It's terrible how someplaces get a bad name because of a few bad people!

I would LOVE $99 for March too!! DH would probably do a little happy dance!

Oh and I keep forgetting to tell you how much I love your "mickeysmyboy" username haha:laughing:

:lovestruc I've loved Mickey since before I can remember! Stacy is wrong!! He's MINE!

Thanks for joining! I made the envelops with clip art and disney wallpapers in a program called photo impact. You can take them if you'd like!! Just right click and save the image or go to the link for photobucket! You can also go over to the DISign board. All the ladies over there have great things to offer! I try to stay away because it's truly addicting!!

I'm loving the new camera!! I've been enjoying playing with it and reading the book! I tell you, I'm worse the guy! I love toys!!

I'm really excited about being a Brownie leader! Although I had a parents meeting last night at my house and one of DD's friends came with her mom. She was completely out of control! Running around, screaming, picking Ryan up! It was terrible!! DH who normally lets things role off his back was HORRIFIED!! He told me he didn't think DD should be friends with her anymore! Yeah, sure! I told him that she knows better then to act that and I really think she was embarrassed that her friend acted like that. One thing is for sure, she won't be over for a playdate anytime soon!! I got our first couple meeting planned pretty well. The girls are going to vote tomorrow on which try it badge we do first and then we'll start doing the different activities for the badge at the next meeting. We're also going to do a food drive for a local food pantry for Thanksgiving and we're (hopefully) going to go see The Nutcracker in December at a theater near by! It should be a lot of fun!!

I'll definitely take pictures of my Dollar Tree haul and post them. I haven't taken a picture of the school bus yellow shed yet :scared:, I forgot yesterday and today it's been pouring cats and dogs! Tomorrow is another day!!

I'll be back tomorrow with another update!!!

Your so sweet. There are a couple envelops I like. I think I will check out the DISign board too. Thank you!!

I've finally come back to catch up with your PTR.

First of all -- never feel bad about taking adult time. It makes for a better relationship between you and DH and the children will survive. DH and I went to WDW on our honeymoon and we thought that his daughters, who were 9 and 11 at the time, would be quite upset. They were a little but got over it very quickly. I think it's great that you're going to such a magical place and I could just picture, the walking hand-in-hand down Main Street. The Poly makes a great place for your romantic getaway. And, those drinks (Lapu Lapu) are quite good - I had my first last week. They are potent though so be careful. You have some great ADRs planned.

Now - back to trip #1. Your plans sound awesome and your kids and DH are so lucky to have you do all of this planning. Great job on the shirts and envelopes. I made pillowcases for our gift bags - this way they can use them again on their beds instead of throwing away a paper bag. You're doing a great job on the sewing. I have the same fabric- the red with black mickey heads that DS8 uses as a blanket. He never let me finish it. I miss being able to sew for girls. If you want some good ideas (not, that you need more work), check Natalie's thread on the DISign board for all the outfits she made for her trip and the family thread for the Disboutique girls - their stuff is awesome!

Congratulations on your new camera. Have fun playing with it. Definitely one of the benefits of digital - when you're playing it doesn't cost extra for pics that aren't any good. What a great DH you have!

Looking forward to hearing more.

I feel little pangs of guilt quite often about not taking them! But, I know it's all good! Their so spoiled anyway!!

I really can't wait for some grownup WDW fun! Not that we won't be doing the same things we'd do if they were with us. But, no diapers to change, no strollers to push, no "Mommy, I have to go to the bathroom!" etc, etc!! It'll just be so completely different!

Those Lapu Lapu look sooooo good! I may have to tell them to tone in down like you did! I'm more of a glass of wine or beer every now and then kind of girl! I don't want to be out like a light before Wishes!! Truthfully, I maybe so giddy with happiness and excitement that adding adult beverages may not be necessary! I may already be feeling pretty darn good!!

Thanks for the compliments on my sewing! I'm really enjoying learning!! I embellished DD a pari of jeans for school today for halloween because she didn't get to wear a costume to school and DS did. I need to get on finishing everything up for our trip!

I really love the new camera!! My old camera, which was a Kodak Z series, was very similar but this one is that much better!!

Starbucks before and Lapu Lapu's after:banana: :cool1: :yay:

I may need the Starbucks, or better yet Kona Coffee, before AND after the Lapu Lapu!!

So, I’m sitting here today twiddling my thumbs, well not literally, waiting for a Disney Visa Rewards discount for our January trip to be released. No such luck, yet. There’s always a DVR for January. They have free dining in December this year there has to be a discount for January! The trip is already paid off but the difference between what we paid and the discount would be credited back to us. That would make for some good souvenirs! I keep checking all sorts of different places, the main wdwinfo page, the January code thread, mousesavers, the Disney rewards page, NOTHING, NADDA, ZLICH!
:confused3 :rolleyes1
So, I figured I get to the update I promised a few days ago!

I have to tell you about my funny day Wednesday!!

The day started with me taking DD out the bus, DS stayed home because of some tummy issues. We waited on the porch Dorothy, Ryan and myself. The bus normal comes between 8:15 and 8:20. Never much past 8:20. At 8:35 the bus still hadn’t arrived and I was about to tell DD to come inside so I could call the school and see if we’d somehow missed that there was no school that day or something. But then I saw the bus driving toward our house. We walked to the street and the bus driver stopped and opened the doors. She apologized to me and said she forgot to pick the kids on my street up! I thought she was kidding at first! But she was serious!! Luckily another kid on the bus pointed it out to her! I was laughing so hard :rotfl2: So felt so bad! They recently changed the routes so she got confused! I really wouldn’t have been a big deal to me, I would have driven DD to school!

Next Ryan and I came inside and I started finishing getting ready for the day. Ryan wanders into the bathroom while I was finishing putting on my makeup and throws his binky in the toilet! Normally I keep the lid closed because he really likes the toilet. But, because DS John was having tummy problems it was open. He threw the binky in and FLUSHED! :scared1:  I swear, it happened in slo-mo!! I reached for his hand just as he flushed! He watched the binky go down and started to get upset!! I thought for sure the toilet would backup but nothing happened! Again, I was laughing sooo hard :rotfl2: :lmao: and he was upset because the binky was gone!!

So Ryan and I go out to run errands, MIL stayed with Johnny. I get to the bank and my cell phone starts ringing. This is where things get a little annoying! And its my kids school. First I think DD is sick, no. Wednesday afternoon was my first brownie meeting. The women who coordinates girl scouts in my town told me everything was all set with getting the room at the school etc. So I assumed everything was taken care of. But, it seems I needed to go fill out a form to use the room. If I had known that I would have done it weeks ago!! The women who called me was rather rude:mad: . So, I’m 4 towns and 20 minutes away from the school and I have to go to Walmart to get stuff for brownies and a few other things. Ryan and I literally run through Walmart! I kid you not, I almost knocked a lady down:sad2: !!
So I quick go home. Quickly, but carefully. It was raining, sleeting and snowing at this point! I get home, pick up the list of my troop, leave Ryan with MIL and run to the school! I get to the school and the lady in the office was soooooo rude! I really wanted to say,” hey listen lady, all I did was sign up to be a brownie leader!” :confused3 But, I figuredmy kids go to this school so I should just be as nice as pie, I’m good at that. I filled out the paperwork and headed home. Only I hear a radio commercial for Purina 1 dog food. DARN!! I forgot to buy dog food at Walmart and I have no dog food at home for the couch peer, AKA Pluto! A little side trip to the grocery store later and I was home! PHEW!! I needed a nap!

A little later I was headed back to the school for my very first Brownie meeting. I have to say, I was a bit nervous! Especially after Monday nights parent meeting. I still can’t get over how terribly bad DD “friend” was!! She was awful! I told my MIL if I wasn’t back by 5:30 they ate me alive! But they were sooooo good and sooooooooo super cute!! I really had a great time with them!! I was afraid the 1 ½ that we had would be too long but it was actually fine! We could have kept going for an hour more. The girls were all disappointed that we aren’t meeting every week and they were super excited to start working on their first TryIt bag next time! We’re going to have a great time this year and I’m really glad I did it!

That's it for now! I off to trick or treat with a Witch, Luke Skywalker and Yoda!

I’ll be back later or tomorrow with some Halloween pictures!!

Wow, Melissa, you had quite the day!!! Too bad about the rude lady, don't you just hate that when people choose to be rude??! I hope you had a great time trick-or-treating with your little ones!! I look forward to seeing pics! :thumbsup2

Awww what a crazy day! I remember Wednesday's weather was soooo weird here, people were coming into my job covered in sleet:eek: It's only October there's not supposed to be sleet yet, jeez. I'm glad to hear your first Brownie meeting went so well too but sorry that the ladies at the school were so rude. I don't understand rude people, who wants to walk around all day in a bad mood being rude to people when you can walk around being happy and nice? The second one just feels so much better. :confused3

It truly was a crazy day! With crazy weather! It's supposed to sleet and snow here in October!

Now I'm going to share my theory on rude people. Some people are just rude cause their having a bad day etc. But you don't need to share your bad day with others! Some people are jus awful, rude, mean people! Good, nice, happy people aren't supposed to understand them because if the did they would be like them!

I'm off to hit the couch again. I've had a little bit of cold for a few days. Lat night I started feeling really terrible. I went to the doctor earlier, turns out I have bronchitis!
