WHOSE Luckier than me?! The January TR!&March PTR!**LINK TO NEW TR IS UP!!**

I was thinking of you all day when I read on Mousesavers to keep watching for a special deal at 5 PM and hoped you had access to the computer at that time. You scored big time! What did your DH say when you told him????

Of course, you reminded him (just as I do) how it always pays to be reading DISboards.

WOW! WOW! AND DOUBLE WOW!!!!:dance3: I'm sure you're going nuts. I know I would be. That's such a great surprise for you and your family. You are going to absolutely love the WL. It's the best. Now, try to get some sleep. You're going to need your strength for planning those extra days.:rotfl:

Waiting until 5 was a killer! Why the heck id they do that anyway?! The last email I got from my travel agent last night was at 12:30!!! She must have been crazy busy!! She was/is sooooo helpful!!

DH was so happy and excited! I told that I was onto him, LOL!! He trys to pretend that he isn't into the whole Disney thing. But, he really is and gets a little more into with each trip!

His only concern is the Giants playing the weekend of the 10th & 11th I told him we'd work around that to stay the extra days and save a huge bundle!

I'm still completely freaking out!! I've been so excited to stay at WL again, to go to WDW again. Now we've gone from 6 days to 9 and save a bundle!!!

Your right, now I have to refigure our park days and what we're going to do with the extra time!!

I also have to book our airfare for March today! Southwest released the dates yesterday and I can use the $196 we got back by changing the day we come home toward our March trip!!

DH is excited that the money we saved pays for more then 1/2 our March trip!!

YIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEE SKKKKIIIIIPPPPPEEEE!!!! HOLY COW!!! WOOOOOOT WOOOOOT!!

This is why I love Disney, THE MAGIC NEVER STOPS!

I'm so happy for you! I kind of wonder how much I would have saved if I had gone thru Disney reservations instead of renting points for my December trip. (we're staying at BWV with boardwalk view so I wouldn't trade that for anything but still have to ponder what the savings would have been :rolleyes1 )

That is a HUGE amount of savings - gotta love that Disney magic pixiedust:

It's so nice to read that so many of you are able to benefit from this new deal:)
I also recieved it but am on the fence about taking any action on it.Even though I'd love to book another one right away I think I'd better get this one it first. I just wish we had as much luck with our trip in Dec. of course the free Dec. dining didn't come into effect until the day we leave that is just my luck.

WOW!!!! That is really amazing!!!! for you! I wish we were going again soon! Really, really cool!!!! I'm so happy for you guys! WL is great I've heard. :thumbsup2 You guys are going to have SO much fun!! :dance3: YAY!!!! :yay:

And thank you again, Melissa for spreading all that Pixie Dust our way.... Dh was totally in shock. :rotfl:

I thought I responded to you last night but it wasn't there?! Anyway, I'm soooo excited for this! I can't get over it!!

We're sooooo excited! I actually had disney dreams last night!! Even if we didn't have these trip planned we'd probably take advantage of it I just so shocked about saving soooo money!!

It's the whole first half of the year with some blackouts so you COULD go in June. It'd be 6 months later. Just saying :rolleyes1

My head is still spinning!! I've got all everything re-set, added a few adr's, switched things around a little, changed our airfare, booked airfare for March, booked the town car service for March, made a handy dandy new spreadsheet for Jan (cause I'm a bit confused at this point)

I'll post all the details in an update on Sunday!

Tomorrow is our big trip to see Thomas the Tank Engine! DS's b-day is 11/11 and we're taking him to a Day Out With Thomas tomorrow!! We get to rid on a train pulled my Thomas! Well, not really there is an actual engine that does the pulling and Thomas is in front of the engine, he's just for show! But a good show!!

I post pictures and such from Thomas on Sunday as well!!

Not to mention I still owe you the update from yesterday! :rolleyes1

Our anniversary is in June so we were thinking maybe....just maybe...we could go on the new deal.:lovestruc :yay:

Is this the same Thomas that Jon and Kate plus 8 showed on there show???

Hope your son has a Happy Birthday Day sounds like fun.

I hope you can make it for your anniversary!! That would be magical!! Unfortunately we couldn't take advantage for the deal for our anniversary trip because we're only staying for 4 days. But, the savings on the January trip is so much I don't care!!

It probably is the same one as on Jon and Kate Plus 8. Much to the horror of my sisters, my 13 year old niece and my hair dresser I don't watch J&K+8! I actually don't really watch TV at all. The TV always seems to be on but it's more background noise for the kids and I. At night when the kiddos are in bed DH is always watching sports or something manly :happytv: so I sit there with my laptop :surfweb: It's very romantic!

I'll stop babbling now! I'm working on the update now so it will be up sometime today! But for now I have to take the chocolate chip muffins for school birthday party out of the oven before they burn!

I'm going to post all the updates I owe you in 2 or 3 posts. I've been writing it in MS Word and will copy and paste. I have 4 pages now and I didn't even get to Thomas the Tank Engine yet!!

Update part 1, no rest for the weary!

You guys may remember that last weekend I was feeling a bit under the weather. To keep myself busy and not do too muchearlier in the week I did Disney stuff on my laptop and a few crafty type things!! Here are the pictures!!!

I finally finished DS1’s blanket to match the big kids pillows!

I made myself shirt! I’ve been meaning to do it but I just never got to it!

I made our stroller tags!

I made my LGMH! I’m going to tie it to my pin lanyard, I think.

I finished DD trip Journal! Of course, now I have re-finish it! I have to add the extra days we’re staying now!!

I updated all the info in my handy dandy folder, which now has to be updated again!!

I ordered a basket for my nephew! My sister, her DH and their son arrived at WDW yesterday! We went at the same time in 06. We didn’t actually go together because we had already planned the trip with MIL and FIL when my sister and her DH planned their trip. Her DH's work schedule worked out such that the week we went was the best week for them to go. We hungout a few times and ate with them a few times! It was a lot of fun! But, DH really doesn’t care for my sister all that much and that would have probably been the end of our sisterhood. Her son is 10 days younger then DD. He’s a great kid! So, like I said, I ordered him a basket with a couple balloons added wishing him a magical vacation!

My sister left a message yesterday that it was waiting for them when they checked in and my nephew loved it!! He got on the phone and said thank you and blew me a kiss!

I stuffed my mousekeeping envelops, I didn’t take pictures of those. But they’re in the handy dandy folder. I need to make a few more now!!!

Lastly, I made the tubes for the kiddos pressed pennies! I didn’t take pictures of those either because the tube is round and I could get a good pic! Now I just have to get a roll of pennies and a roll of quarters and we’ll be set!

I also watched lots of Disney stuff on TV and DVD! I watched Peter Pan! My all time fav! I watched all the 100’s of hours of WDW Travel Channel shows I have saved on the DVR! It was very nice and relaxing!! I got better very quickly! Not 100% better yet. But, a whole heck of a lot better than last weekend!

Update part 2! The brand new plan!

New plans!! I ‘m still freaking a bit! I just can’t believe it!! The WHOSE LUCKIER THEN ME?! Title definitely fits here!! When I told my mom all the details she told me she wished she’d stepped in whatever I stepped in! LOL! I really do have pretty good luck!

The new plan isn’t really that different from the old. But I’ll give you the whole plan and note new things!!

Saturday, 1/3 we’ll fly into MCO and take ME to WL as planned and check-in. Our reservation for this night has been changed to rooms only. We never had the intention on going to the parks when we got there and didn’t have tickets before the change. But, having that night attached to our package we wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of the deal. So now it’s a separate rooms only ressie!!

We kept our 6 pm dinner ADR at Whispering Canyons!

Sunday, 1/4 We’ll get up and hit MK for rope drop and take DS1 to Harmony Barber Shop as planned for his very first haircut!! After that we’ll grab a quick bit at the bakery and head to whatever the first ride is! DD gets to pick this time!

I added a 1:25 lunch ADR at Kona Café to our plan!! This is a first for us!

After lunch we’ll head back to WL for rest/swimming!

We’ll leave WL around 4:30 and head to DHS! We’re going to see the Osborne Lights!! The 4th is the last night!! We weren’t planning on doing it. It didn’t fit into the schedule, but now it does!!!!!! I’m super excited!!

Then we’ll head to MK to see the Castle Lights!! I’m hoping to find out when the last night is, but no luck so far!! I even emailed someone I know from another board whose a CM and I haven’t heard back! Maybe, it’s a secret! I’m hoping they’ll still be on!! If they are we’ll head to MK by taking a bus from DHS to GF, take a quick gander at the GF tree and gingerbread house if it’s still up and head to MK via the monorail! It’s evening EMH at MK but we’ll probably only stay a bit see the lights and get ice cream!

Originally we were supposed to have dinner at Tony’s Town Square tonight because it fit into the original plan of see the castle lights and wishes. But, with the extra days we can see wishes a few other nights!!

Monday, 1/5 Sticking with the original plan of DHS, doing TSM, 2:35 ADR at 50’s PTC, and seeing Fantasmic at 6:30

Tuesday, 1/6 sticking with the original plan of breakfast ADR at Whispering Canyons, AK and hopefully dinner at T-Rex Café!

Wednesday, 1/7 Sleep late!!!! This wasn’t in the original plan, there wasn’t time!

I may not sleep late. I’m not physically capable of sleeping late.

But, I’ll take a walk and get coffee etc! After everyone surfaces and we get set we’ll head to Epcot and do WS! We still have our 6:05 ADR at Akershus! Then we’ll find a place for Illuminations and hang out!! I love WS! It’s so beautiful and even more so at night!!

Thursday, 1/8 sticking to the originally plan of up early, MK for morning EMH, mid-day break, Chef Mickey’s at 5:05, Spectro at 7, Wishes at 8. The park closes after Wishes so we’ll have a relatively early night!

Friday, 1/9 originally we were going home!!! Now we’re not!!

We have an 8:20 am ADR at the Crystal Palace! I love Main Street with no people!!

From here on out everything is new! Then we’ll take the monorails to Epcot and do Future World. At some point we’ll head over and take the boat to Yacht and Beach Club and go to Beaches and Cream for a late lunch/early dinner! It sounds soooooo yummy, we’ve never been there before and I’m excited!!!

After that I’m leaning toward going back to WL, hanging out, hitting the game room, swimming etc

Saturday, 1/10 We’ll wake up at home, oh no wait! We’ll still be at WDW!!!

We’ll boogie over to MK and do whatever!! I got a 6:25 ADR for Tony’s Town Square! As I’ve said in a previous post, I know a lot of people don’t like Tony’s. But, we’re far from foodies and I like the eggplant! Spectro is at 7, maybe we’ll see some of it from the windows?! Wishes is at 8 and the park closes at 10!

Sunday, 1/11 we’ll head home! I hate to leave but I really can’t complain!!! 2 1/2 extra days and saved a boat load of $$$$!?! No complaints from this girl!

We’ll head to MK do what we want to do again etc until we have to head back to WL for ME! We have a 5:25 flight home so I’m figuring on ME picking us up at around 2:25. We should be home in our cozy house with our crazy puppy by 9 pm!

YYYYYYIIIIIPPPPPEEEEE!! I still can’t get over it! I’m too excited!!!

I was also able to book our airplane tickets for March on Friday!! I could have done it on Thursday but I wanted to wait until all was said and done with everything for January, I knew when I changed leaving in January from Friday to Sunday I would save $$! $190!!! I applied that to March! Good thing, the fares for our flight home we’re bit pricier then I would have liked but for $10 a ticket I got business select and we get priority seating, which means we don’t have to check-in the day before. Plus we get free adult beverage, not sure we’ll drink it but it’ll be there if we want!

I also booked our town car for March right after I finished getting the airline tickets!! We have a 7:40 am flight on March 23rd. We land at MCO at 10:25. With the town car service and concierge check-in I’m hoping to be on Main Street by 12:15!! We have a 5:15 flight home on the 27th and like Jan we should be home in our cozy house with our crazy kids and crazy dog by 9ish!!

Do you think it's to early to start packing?.....

Hi I thought I already had joined in the fun here.
But must have read and not posted, owell. I am here now, and love all of your pics.

Sounds like everythings really coming full circle with both of your trips now! Still trying to get that deal like you did, no luck yet though :headache: That pillow you made is great and so are the shirts. Stupid question for you:

I have a couple designs from the DISigns board that I want to put on shirts. I saved the pictures on my computer but now how do I put them on shirts? I'm totally ignorant on how to do this! lol:laughing:

Thanks for coming over!! I hope I don't bore you!!

I hope you can take advantage of the deal! Anything that anyone can save is such a bonus!! But, remember YOUR GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!! All is good!

To get your designs onto the tees you need to get either light iron on transfers or dark iron on transfers. I really prefer the light ones, they end up feeling like a part of the tee, the dark on's are thicker. But, if your going to use a dark colored tee you'll need the dark transfers. If that make sense. For white tees or light gray, pastles etc you can use the light transfers.

You can get the transfers at Staples, Office Max etc. Avery brand seems to be the best.

Depending on dark or light depends on how your going to print the design. Their are pretty good directions in the packages. If your using light you'll need to print the image flipped so it appears backwards to you when it prints. There are different ways to do it depending on what computer program your using. If your using dark you'll print normally.

You'll need to trim as much of the extra off as possible.

A few tips, DON'T USE STEAM!! The directions say no steam but I forgot at one point and the design got all yucky! DON'T USE THE IRONING BOARD! The directions also say that but I thought why?! you don't get enough pressure on the design to make it stick good. Put a pillow case on a table or counter to protect it.

I hope that helps and I hope I didn't totally confuse you!!

Update part 3, Thomas the Tank Engine!

Ok, last but not least, at least for today, Thomas the Tank Engine!!

This was actually the 3rd time we’ve been to A Day Out With Thomas. We went the first time in 05 when DS was just about to turn 3 and we went last year.

DS, just about 6 now, has loved Thomas the Tank Engine forever! I truly mean LOVE! I could recite every Thomas DVD and book in my sleep, I know every engines name, color, # and back story. We have about a million dollars worth of Thomas trains, wooden one, metal ones, plastic ones, even electric ones (those are DH’s) in my house. DS’s room was Thomas for a while, but now I’ve taken most of that stuff down to make room for his Star Wars stuff. He lived Thomas for a good 3 years!! He’s just in the past year has started to grow out of it a bit and move onto Star War and Indiana Jones!

He still loves Thomas, but he doesn’t play with the stuff as much as he used to. He tells me “Ya, know Mommy, I still love Thomas”

Going to see Thomas was a special birthday request from him this year. I told him that I thought we should do something special instead of having a birthday party with his friends this year, I feel bad that people would give him a gift when he has more than enough and the economy is so bad. I gave him a bunch of ideas, the Bronx Zoo, the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum (he’s very interested in all things military) etc, etc, he said “Mommy, what I really want to do is go see Thomas again!” Okey Dokey!

So I made the arrangements!

Thomas goes on tour and goes to numerous railroad museums and associations around the country. The closest place to us that he comes is a place in Connecticut. He’s there the 1st 2 weekends in November!

So, yesterday we took the ferry from way out here on Eastern Long Island (Orient) to New London, CT. The ferry ride takes about an hour and half and is soooooooo much better than driving. Especially because we’d have to drive all the way around through NYC! We took an 8 am boat, which means we left our house at 7, got breakfast and went to the ferry. Be arrived in New London about 9:20.

The ferry ride is always fun! The only problem this time was that DS1 was being terrible!! He didn’t want to sit, he didn’t want anything to do with anything DH and I did to try to keep him happy!! UGGH!

DS 1 and DH in a brief happy, occupied moment, doesn’t DH look tired!?

DS almost 6 playing with his favorite stuffed animal (yes, it’s a rat!) and an Indiana Jones lego guy on the ferry!

The railroad, Essex Steam Train, is maybe 20 minutes from where the ferry! We got there about 10 minutes to 10 and got our tickets from will call!
Our ride with Thomas was scheduled at 12:45. But there is lots of stuff to do! Not as much this year as in the past years. But, no matter.

DS and DD in front of a picture of Henry.

They have rides for the kids,

Doesn’t DD look bored!!

You can meet Sir Topham Hatt, I caught DS1 just as he ran away.

They have different trains to look at, this is the one that pulls at the other end of Thomas’s train,

Of course they have lots of food! DD and DS ate hot dogs at 10 am! Yuck!

DS1 had some fries!

And of course Thomas himself!!

The ride with Thomas is about a ½ hour. His train had 8 cars full of families! They have a great narrator that tells a story along the way!

The kiddos having fun before Thomas pulled out!

DS1 goofying around with Daddy!

We did everything there was to see and do between when we got there at 10ish and our 12:45 train so when we got off we headed out. It had started to rain and was terribly icky! I’m glad it didn’t rain in the morning! It wouldn’t have been as much fun!

DS was very excited to have had another Day Out with Thomas!!

DH enjoys going to see Thomas as much as DS does! He loves trains, he has since he was a kid. He said we’ll go back in a few years when DS1 is a little older and likes Thomas. We’ll see!

Sounds like you guys had such a great time! :thumbsup2 I like your DS's pants, did you make those? I've said it before, but I have to say it again: your kids are so cute!! :lovestruc I love the idea of doing a day out instead of a party. So much easier than organizing a whole party too!

We had a great time!! It's a lot of fun!

I did indeed make DS's pants! He got lots of complements on the them! DS1 had a similar pair, but his wouldn't fit as many trains.

I think my kids are pretty darn cute too!! Thanks!!

Doing something speical for the is so much easier and cheaper too!! Last year DS had a Halloween party for his birthday. We were supposed to have it outside but it was rainging cats and dogs! I had 25 4 and 5 year old in my house! Not to mention the parents. Don't get me wrong, most if the kids were great. Few left a little room for improvement. But it was crazy!!!!

Great updates!

Where did you get the fabric (the red with the black Mickey heads)? DS8 has the fleece of that print and I would love to make him a robe out of it but can't find it. Our Walmart stopped selling fabric. :sad1:

Great job on the pants. You're motivating me to get back into sewing.

It's never too early to pack. I actually threw some things in our suitcases for our cruise NEXT November. I figured that was the best place for when I forget where I put the stuff. It'll be in the suitcases when I open them up. :rotfl:

What a great day you all had as a family. Better than a birthday party IMO. Birthday parties often get out of hand - inviting everyone you know, the goodie bags.

Your itinerary sounds awesome! Can I come?
