Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Good morning everyone!
I tell you the truth – I love when the kids are home for the summer but man they are a lot of work! Always having to entertain them and never enough time for Dis’ing. The nerve of the them, wanting to shop and play. :rotfl:

So here is my post from yesterday. I am now officially a day behind since I just wrote this up. Forgive me!

Jewelry-
While I don’t like to travel with a lot of jewelry, I do like to buy it. ::yes:: I just usually don’t get much when we are actually at Disney World. I have no idea why?

Most recently I attended a home jewelry party at a friend’s house where she talked me into buying a couple of things. It wasn’t too hard- I like big chunky necklaces and they had plenty to choose from! I plan on taking these with me to WDW:

A couple of trips ago Mark bought me this Mickey Mouse necklace:
mmnecklace.jpg

I really love it; it’s small and dainty and looks good with almost anything. I usually wear it every day in the parks. I have to force myself not to wear it at home b/c I don’t want it messed up.

And finally a pair of earrings that I also got from the home party-

I like to wear hoops and these are nice b/c they are big enough for me to wear them alone without anything else to go with them.

Other than that, I don’t plan on taking a whole lot else. Probably a couple more earrings but no other necklaces for dinners and such.

I think this trip I will be on the lookout for earrings to match my Mickey necklace… I’m already compiling my shopping list!!! :rotfl:

Good morning Jo!

I remember how happy I was when my kids got out of school for the summer. :beach: Almost as happy as I was when they went back. J/K, but the timing did seem to work out just right!

I love your new jewelry! I love chunky jewelry on other people, but it just doesn't seem to look right on me. :confused3 For some reason I think it looks out of place on me. My DSis has lots of big jewelry, and it looks so good on her. I think I'm just a plain Jane. (Ha! I made a joke there! ;))

The Mickey necklace Mark gave you is so pretty! Now that one looks more my style. ::yes::

Yeah...I'm still young enough to have my near vision. It is frustrating sometimes when a website doesn't have a good Mobile site, but for the most part I like the convenience of carrying the internet around in my pocket.

Treasure your good vision!! :goodvibes I'm telling you, it's one of the most frustrating things about getting older. I think mine started to go downhill as soon as I hit 40. It is unbelievable to have the internet right at your fingertips, isn't it?

Yeah, but I'm always scared the used car dealer, no matter how reputable, might sell me a car with a hidden problem. And I wonder why would someone be getting rid of a perfectly good car after just 1 year?

Sorry, thread hijack. :upsidedow

Nice jewelry. I'm really not good at matching my jewelry with my clothes, hence why I never wear any. :rotfl:

Yes, sorry Shelly and Jo! :guilty:

I do know what you mean. When we bought my DS's truck, we were told that it had been owned by a young man who just married and had a new baby. And the truck was a single cab with no back seat. (Of course, he could have been a meth dealer who just went to prison!)

It is a slippery slope when buying used, but there can be good deals if you can find them!

Morning Teri!:goodvibes
Humph- Plain Jane. Next you're gonna say you're in PA or something.;)
:rotfl2:
I bet chunky necklaces do look good on you. The first time I bought one it was from Chicos and I paid a ton for it. I wasn't sure it looked good on me at the time but I got it anyway-( b/c I wanted to--- which happens a lot with me).:lmao: Anyway, I wore it and got so many compliments that I decided it must look okay. :confused3 I dunno.

I do love that MM necklace, though. I worry that it might tarnish with all of the sunscreen I'm going to be wearing in Sept.:scared1:

Well I am off to go get my hair done, and maybe go shopping. :rotfl2: I can't stop myself.

I'll be back in a few hours!

Good morning ladies! :goodvibes

Beautiful jewelry Jo! :) I just love that MM necklace. :lovestruc Where did Mark get it? I want one!!!

Love the chunky necklace too. I bet it looks really nice on you. But I'm like Teri, I don't think it would look good on me. :confused3 Maybe because I'm shorter and need a longer necklace. IDK.

Anyway -- great stuff! :thumbsup2

Okay well it's one thing to take your own kids to a place like that-- but you took your DN too? You get the award for best Aunt!:rotfl: I avoid those places with my own kids like the plague!:rotfl2: I always want to cause bodily harm to snot nosed jerky brats who end up making one of my kids cry. Usually Belle. ugh. You should be sainted for going so early in the summer season!:lmao:

Those boys-- you're tormenting them with thoughts of *All you can eat* pastries.....:scared1::lmao: you'd better tell them.

I know, right?! :crazy2: It really wasn't too bad. Other than the continuous Justin Bieber music. :faint:

 I know, but it's sort of fun tormenting them!! :rotfl:
Love your jewelry Shelly! :goodvibes Those necklaces will go with almost everything you've bought, I think. Good choices!! The first one looks a lot like a necklace my friend bought at the home party. Really pretty. :lovestruc

I think we need to meet on Main Street to shop, not do a fashion show. We both need new MM earrings!!:lmao: (And maybe a few more items.):lmao:

Thanks! :goodvibes

Ooohhh we could shop and then do a fashion show!! ::yes:: :lmao:

Happy First Day of Summer everyone!! :goodvibes

Just a small shopping post today ~ Jewelry!

I don't typically wear a ton of jewelry. Generally I wear my rings and that's about it. And occasionally my Past Present Future diamond necklace DH got me back on our 10th anniversary. That's usually about it. But I did pick up a few necklace & earring sets from Penney's to go with a few of my new dresses:

And here's some Disney jewelry and pins the kids have gotten me over the years ~

And my Pick-a-Pearl necklace I got in November ~

Love the new jewelry, Shelly! It looks like you can wear the first necklace/earrings with several different outfits. :thumbsup2

The jewelry your boys gave you is precious. I bet those are the ones you treasure most! I especially love the pink "Mom" pin.

And of course I love the Pick-a-Pearl necklace. I've got to do that next time I go!

It sounds like the boys are already keeping you busy this summer! You really deserve a :worship: for taking three boys to one of those arcade places. No migraine after that? You are lucky! :shamrock:

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes

The boys got me that pin on Mother's Day 2008 at WDW! :lovestruc

You've got to do Pick-a-Pearl - it's a lot of fun!

I don't know how I managed to escape that place yesterday without a migraine, but thankfully I did! :worship:

Cute jewelry ladies!!!
Jo - be careful that metal doesn't get too hot on your neck!! I love that mickey necklace! I may need to get one of those!

Shelly - oh the kid places!! I try to avoid them as much as I can. Lucky for me, DH gets home early afternoon in the summer and can take them somewhere before I even get home! Sometimes it's the arcade, the pool, the movies (which I like to do).

Thanks Sheree! :)

I can see us all now with our matching MM necklaces! :rotfl:

Good Afternoon-

I am late and behind today since I had a Drs. Appt. then stopped at the drug store and grocery store for a couple of items.

Jo I love your taste in jewelry and the mickey necklace is very cute

Shelly sounds like you had a fun day with the boys, since my two DSs were so far apart in age(10 year difference) I often us to take a couple of the neighborhood boys along to the amusement park, mini golf or batting cages when I took my youngest so he had someone to pal around with. Enjoy it now in a couple of years the get that "not wanting to be seen with Mom thing"

Wonder what Jo will bring back from her shopping trip

Well with the addition of Fantasmic every night I decided I better check out the park hours to see if anything had changed since the last time I looked. And it seems that DHS's hours have also been extended.

Here are all the park hours for our trips. Mine are in red.
Jodi's are in blue. And the days we overlap are in purple!

Hey Sheila! :) I hope everything went well at your drs appt. The boys and I go to the dentist tomorrow. :scared1: I HATE going to the dentist!!

Yes it was a fun day yesterday. Tiring but fun! My boys are not even 2 1/2 years apart, so they always have someone to play with! My nephew and DS9 were born 6 weeks apart and he lives in the town where the Fun Center is, so I thought we should invite him! It ended up to be a good thing we took him. DS12 ended up being an inch too tall to go into the playzone part with the tubes and slides & stuff. DS9 probably wouldn't have wanted to go in by himself.

Yeah, I wonder what Jo is buying right now.....popcorn::

I love the jewelry girls! I usually only wear a few rings so it's fun once in awhile to throw on something extra. You both will look great! :)

Well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

I went shopping!!

My shopping trip was accidental, though. Yeah, that's what I'll go with......;)

I went over to my GF's condo so we could walk on the treadmill together (we're getting some much needed rain). After I left, I decided to go to Marshall's since it's near her condo. I'm looking for a small chest of drawers or something similar for my DD's house. I bought her one from T.J. Maxx several months ago, but she really needs some more drawer space. Her bedroom is tiny, and her closet is even tinier. That's what you get when you live in an old house in an old city. Marshall's didn't have much furniture at all in stock. So.....I found myself in the shoe department! I found a pair of black Clark's sandals (so comfortable) and a pair of black sandals with a small heel. I am so bad at describing - I could wear the 2nd pair with capris or a dress. They aren't what I'd call dressy, but I wouldn't wear them with shorts.

Now I know my shopping trip isn't on the same planet as a Shelly or Jo shopping trip, but it was kind of fun buying something I wasn't even out looking for! And I did need them, I really did! And I have 2 people I can blame if my DH dares to say anything. ;)

Accidental shopping! :rotfl2:

That's a good one!!

Congrats on the new shoes! :cool1:

Wow you and Jo must be so excited to have 4 days that overlap

I haven't checked my park times since the switched Epcots day for EMH to our arrival day which actually is a good thing now that today................Jet Blue called to tell me they are changeing our flight down's time from 6:30am to 8:00am :scared1:

That is a big change for me, I had to change our lunch ressies time and then our dinner ressie time both to later ADR's

I swear do not let me on the dining site, I noticed Disney opened up some late lunch resssies so I ws finally able to change my Le Cellier dinner to a lunch, then changed my lunch at Les Chefs to a dinner. Changeing Le Cellier gave me an extra credit so I switched 50's PT to Brown Derby, DH is not a big fan of 50's PT.

As for my Dr appt. it went ok but I am still have a problem with shortness of breath at times so my Dr is sending me for some breathing testing
I had them before because of my asthma and she wants to see what is what before she increases my meds.

Good Luck at the Dentist tomorrow!
I need to make an appt for the dentist but I hate to go there too. I always put that off then have a lot of work to be done when I get there :rotfl:

Nice jewelry. I'm really not good at matching my jewelry with my clothes, hence why I never wear any. :rotfl:

People lease cars, then don't take the buy option. Though I think this is usually after 2 or 3 years. My Dad bought a Prius that was only a year or so old. The biggest issue is that the previous owner only turned over one set of keys to the dealership. The replacement key is so ridiculously expensive that my Dad hasn't bought one. He just has the one set, which is fine for him, but he has to be really careful if he lets my Mom drive it.

Treasure your good vision!! :goodvibes I'm telling you, it's one of the most frustrating things about getting older. I think mine started to go downhill as soon as I hit 40. It is unbelievable to have the internet right at your fingertips, isn't it?

I do. I help my Mom read stuff all the time!:rotfl2:

I love the jewelry ladies. I'm really not a jewelry person. I can't imagine wearing too much in the parks. Also, the baby is in his grabbing stage, so my motivation is even lower than it usually is.

LOVE the mickey necklace. It's something I could see myself wearing, when I do remember to put jewelry on.

I love places like Fun Center. Deep down I really want to go with the kids and play in those tunnels and slides, but I'm afraid of what others might think. :cutie: That, and a little grossed out about what kids *might* have done in there.

Speaking of acting like a kid, it was Fun Day yesterday at my school so I raced against a few of my students in one of those giant inflatables. I stopped after 2 though, I was already out of breath and had a scratched knee. :rotfl:

True. I'll try to remember that and be open to possibly buying *gently* used car.

Oh Shelly, you're so organized! :worship: Color-coded time schedules, and even "red and blue make purple" coordination!

Love the jewelery, both of you! :)

We are excited!! But really it's not actually 4 days. She comes in late Thurs night, we leave Sunday around noon, they have a football game all day on Saturday, so really Friday is our only full day that we are both there!!

I can't believe they changed your flight by an hour an a half!! :scared1: Mine have both changed, but only by 10 minutes so far.

I am the same way on the dining site. :rotfl: I have booked and cancelled so many ADR's in the last week! :upsidedow

I hope everything goes okay with your breathing tests. Shortness of breath is no fun, I grew up with asthma. Luckily mine got better the older I got. I hope they can figure out what is going on with you.

We are off to the dentist in a few minutes.
