Who will be watching Emily Maynard the Bachelorette? No Spoilers PLEASE

Dude! She would have cut you LAST week, had you not intervened and pushed her to take you.

What she shouldn't have done, is tell Chris' dad that she was in love with him.

exactly!

and with Sean's family, she was SO polite. wow.

do you think they're grooming Arie to be the next Bachelor?

I think his female, producer/ex-girlfriend probably told him he'd get in some advertising for his race car driving if he agreed he'd be one of the contestants on the show. :rolleyes1

I hate when they make Texans look ridiculous. I don't know anyone who would pretend to serve armadillo. How stupid.

Sean's dad is a real jokester! :rotfl2: The whole family is to keep such deadpan faces when either Sean or his dad are pulling off a joke. You can tell that is normal for them to be that way.

so, do you think that he's sincere? there's something about him that turns me off. i'm afraid he's going to be one of the final two though. i really hope he isn't her final choice.

I don't know. He's starting to rub me the wrong way too. And his parents are no prize.

Did you see the way he smugly folded his arms when Chris was walking out with Emily? I couldn't tell if that was just over his feelings about Chris, or some sense of entitlement that he has. Like he's got it in the bag with Emily. :headache:

I do wonder, :scratchin if the the producers told her to NOT to pick her first choice for handing out the first rose. To mix things up to keep the audience guessing.

I thought that was really funny! You could see she was trying not to look horrified!:rotfl2:

I think Sean's family is just really close and like to joke around a lot.

Just saw the preview. It's really hard to interpret, because they've always been extremely misleading in the past. Sean's revelation about still living at home could be followed by "just kidding!" Who knows. But that room really was a mess. BUT...maybe that's not HIS room??

And it was my DD who told me that Sean's parents were missionaries, so it's all her fault. ::yes::
I was right about something!!!! :cheer2:
Just so you guys know, all Chicagoans have Polka bands in their backyards...:rotfl2:
I'm going to share this fact with someone tomorrow, just to show them how smart I am! :teeth:

Next thing you'll be saying is that Chicagoans don't really have Polka bands in their backyards.
Hmm...Arie's parents shook her hand instead of hugging her. It is kind of rude for them to speak Dutch in front of her, especially since they do speak English.
That's like really high on the list of rude. Huge turnoff. And they did seem a little cold. Not a family I'd want to marry into. Plus, I've never been particulary fond of Arie anyway. :confused3
I like Sean's dad. He's so warm & personable. :thumbsup2

Sean was right. He has a great dad.
Loved him! Sean's the one for me.

I think she intended to choose Chris last week. But I think she could've been less expressive to the families about her feelings for the guys...she made it sound like their son/brother was "the one". But I guess that's for our (the viewer's) benefit.

Jef's letter was really nice, but I just can't get past the feeling that I'm watching Justin Bieber trying to woo Emily. :confused3

Wonder how Emily is going to handle the overnight dates situation. Overnight date/Sean. What WOULD I do?

Jef's letter was very sweet and overall I like him a lot (even though sometimes in the rose ceremonies he looks a bit like a kid waiting for his prom date!) but I am always a little suspicious of the contestants who proclaim such super intense feelings on these shows. It's been, what, 4 or 5 weeks since they first met and they have maybe spent a total of 18 to 24 hours together in that time? Who can develop feelings THAT strong, THAT fast? That was a letter I would love to hear on my wedding day, not after a couple of fun dates with someone. I know this show creates an artificial atmosphere that heightens all the emotions, but it still feels a little off.

I always root for the contestant like Sean who seems like he is super into Emily but he is not making any big proclamations just yet. That seems more realistic to me and more genuine.

I know. But maybe I'm superimposing all those years I was a tween and thinking how wonderful it would be to marry into Donny Osmond's family someday and live in Ogden, UT. Jef has the best family environment to raise a kid - if he were 3-5 years older.

Sean, has the second best, because you can tell how comfortable they were joking around and the rest of the family helping to set up the jokes. That kind of togetherness can't be faked.

Even Chris' family was kind of warm.

Arie's family failed. They were cold & formal to each other. Arie should have nipped the speaking BACK in Dutch right away.

Can someone briefly fill me in on what happened during Sean's visit?

We had a power surge and my DVR didn't restart until he was sitting on the swing with his mother. I missed almost all of it. I saw part of the swing conversation, and her driving away.

On the other hand, I wish it would have cut out during Arie's visit.

Sean's family is deeply committed to their practical jokes. First Sean told her he was still living at home, and had a room there to prove it. With his clothes, photos, and mess. Joke. Then you must have seen at the end when his Dad brought out the baked armadillo.

Kind of loved it, but not sure Emily can handle it.

I didn't mind Arie's family. His Mom was trying to be stern, but Emily melted her pretty quickly. It was sweet.

I think Jef is the one. But it is an odd pairing.

So, is Emily really going to raise 5 kids on her own while Arie is away traveling so much?

She and the kids can be at the track with him even if just during the summer months.

Note: he hasn't actually raced much in recent years. He's done more television commentary than anything.

I agree.

I was giddy during the date because I was excited to see Arie Sr. Huge fan of both of them. :)

I'm wondering if we watched the same show?! I thought Sean's family was completely fake and stupid. Kensington and Smith? Give me a break. The jokes? Lame and not funny. I knew a dozen guys like Sean growing up here and there is a reason he is 28 and single and on a reality TV show. Blech,

Chris is crazy. I like Jef and Arie and I thought both family visits went well. The editing tried to play up the speaking in Dutch thing to more than it probably was. And Jef seems to be regressing in age. I swear he looks younger every time he appears on camera.

"....Ricki, sweetie, how'd y'all feel about having a young deddy, huh, darlin'?"

I thought Chris was a little mean when Emily said good bye to him. "Do you have an explanation?" And then his declaration that he's 10 times the man any of the other guys are....um, NO.Well done, Emily. I thought the guys reaction was interesting. Arie was smug and sort of laughing, and then Sean said sincerely, "That's tough." He had empathy for Chris.

I'll be glad to see Arie go. He is not right for her. Emily would do well with either Sean or Jef. I like them both, but I'm leaning toward Jef right now.

Did you see the previews for Bachelor Pad, with stupid Kaylon walking in and handing Chris his car keys, like he was a valet?
