Who Turned on the Heat?! Our sweaty 2 weeks in May! Final Thoughts.

Glad to hear you got your money returned on the ticket. I would have been P.O.ed at the CM's comment too!

I forgot to add in my previous post...I love Madeline's ears! Emily got some pink Minnie ears this time. I should have taken her to the make your own ears shop! That would have been fun! Oh well, something new to do next time!:)

Just found your tr. Your daughter is adorable. I noticed you had one of those backpacks/leash things on her in one pic. Did you use this often and how well did it work? How many dirty looks did you get? Not that I care but I was just curious how people react to it. I bought one to take for my youngest when we go to disney. I'm not sure we will use it but it's better to be safe and who cares what others think. I figure any one with children will understand and those who don't...who cares.

I think Madeline probably had the most interesting ears in all of Disney World.:rotfl2: Your parade pictures are great. And, I love the pictures with Chip and Dale, what a great memory that will be. I hope you got your money returned, and I completely understand about not being able to rest until it was settled. I would have been the same way.

Yes I didn't see any other ears quite like them ;)

If you ever go to City Hall and get a German CM (I forget her name she was very nice just didn't know her job) go to another line. She'll screw up your
ticket! Eric managed to get her AGAIN later in the trip. :scared1:
The make your own ears was fun. They also have them in the Hanes T-shirt shop area too.

We used it constantly. Madeline tends to run off and since she wouldn't sit in her stroller it was a necessity. We got nothing but good comments about it. Saw quite a few people with them actually. :wizard:

I'm glad you got the ticket issue worked out - that's 10 minutes Disney owes you now!

Those ears are adorable - she's so cute! :cutie:

I'm looking forward to stuffing a box with the Mr. Potato Head parts (thanks to reading on the DIS, I'll be bringing two MPH bodies with us so that we can get more parts in the box ).

I remember the train, but I don't remember the carousel :confused3

Great pictures and wonderful update! :woohoo:

A lot of the neat potato head parts are pretty big (tinkerbelles hair, pirate shoes ect.) so you might want to think about stuffing the giant plastic container. It's just $6 more then buying 2 boxes (what we ultimately ended up doing) and you can probably fit more in it then 2 boxes. I'd go right when they open (changes weekly) and fill 2 boxes then try to fill the plastic thing and see how that works out.

Thanks for posting the info about the Mr. Potato heads and the make your own ears! I am going to put both these things on my must have list for our next trip!! I had no idea the Mr. Potato heads accessories were all Mickey related! SO cute.

again- GREAT pics!! I love the one of Madeline and Chip!! That is one that will have to be framed!!

yes it will. My one regret for the trip is that we didn't get that on video. From then on every character meet was on video but none were as cute as chip and dale.

What a fantastic idea! Thank you  I can't believe my boys still enjoy playing with MPH periodically, but I'm glad they still do :goodvibes At the moment, ds#2 is having a bath with Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head and all their assorted parts :lmao:

Byron, GA is literally 10 minutes from my house -- my girls took dance/gymnastics in Byron for years! You should have driven another few miles down the road to Warner Robins -- much better accommodations available there with several new hotels that have just been built in the last two years.

I'm enjoying your TR so far.

Then she saw him THE main cheese (and Pluto)
DSC_1343.jpg

I focused on her reaction

My eyes got a little teary watching her reaction and she's not even mine!!

What a precious memory!

You're welcome. We haven't tried out potato head in the bath yet. I'm afraid she'd be in there even longer then she is now. lol

I'll have to remember that for our drive in October! Although we might try to make it all the way to Valdosta next time.

I get teary every time I look at the pictures!

My photopass cd just came! It only took like 3 days!

Just caught up with this TR. Enjoying it.....ditto everyone else on the amazing pic of her seeing Mickey Mouse. How adorable!

As for "blowouts", definitely been there....I can remember one specific time changing one of my babies in the men's restroom. It was nasty -- anytime someone came in I thought to myself "Look away...for the good of humanity, please look away"

Can't wait to hear/see the rest.

Oh, I hear you there! How long ds#2 will spend in the bathtub is now a running family joke - his record so far is 3.5 hours!:lmao: Good thing he's old enough to have a bath without me having to be in the bathroom, hey? :rotfl2:

Woo-Hoo! Can't wait to see....

Kathy

Our first photopass pic was from our 1st Epcot day so after I finish up DTD (one more post) you'll start seeing them. I spent a while this afternoon putting them on photobucket! :thumbsup2

Thanks for joining! Makes me feel better that others have had the blow outs too :scared1:

:scared1::scared1::scared1: 3.5 hours WOW! I think the longest we've let Madeline stay in the tub has been a little over an hour. I make Eric sit in the room with her. lol

After Eric was done with his lunch he went over to Disney Quest. He had a 10 day plus ticket while the rest of us had AP's so I told him he should go there while we shopped. He was very thankful I wasn't going to make him shop with us. I'm sure my dad wished he could go too. :rotfl2:

We went over to Pooh's Corner
DSC_1661-1.jpg

Madeline found a coloring table and didn't want to leave it. It's the longest I've seen her color ever! We then found the dalmation
DSC_1668.jpg

After we got her out of there we headed to the pin store. She played with these guys while I looked around.
DSC_1671.jpg

DSC_1673-1.jpg

She still has the picture she colored in her hand. We were going to send it to Auntie Kim but ended up loosing it somewhere.
I ended up getting a packet of pins to trade and a new lanyard and pouch since I was unable to locate mine before we left.

Our next stop was World of Disney

We looked around a little bit and I got the photo album I wanted.
Next up was the lego store. I looked around while mom and dad took Madeline to the slide. She loved it. I wanted to find some Duplo blocks because we can't find them around here. Well I saw the price and didn't think it was worth it so I passed.

I went outside and called Eric. We were going to go make a dino! While we waited for Eric Madeline found the legos.
DSC_1682-1.jpg

Eric finally arrived. He declared it a LONG walk and said if he'd known there was a boat from one end to the other he would have used it on the way over.

We headed here
DSC_1684.jpg

DSC_1685.jpg

This place looked so cool!
DSC_1687.jpg

DSC_1690.jpg

we love octopuses in this house!
The store is really cute. They had a really neat spoon/fork set that I wish I would have gotten for Madeline.
DSC_1691.jpg

Madeline perused the dino selection. She picked one and Eric told her "good job that's the one that eats people". She then started screaming NO NO and ran out of there SO fast! I gave Eric the look of death. Seriously why would he say that? He told me that he that he tells her that all the time at home. Whatever. We took her back out to that dinosaur in the front and that scary guy calmed her down. (strange child I have) We went back in the store and she picked a different dinosaur. A pretty purple one. The original one was orange- yuck!
Right when we were having him stuffed a meteor shower hit. OH NO!
DSC_1695.jpg

It got really dark but we all survived. ;)
She loved staring at machine with all the stuffing.
DSC_1697.jpg

Washing and fluffing the dino was next
DSC_1699.jpg

DSC_1701.jpg

We got an Orlando shirt for him/her and Madeline named him Mickey. Boy dinosaurs can wear pink Orlando shirts right? :rotfl: I wonder how many Dinosaurs get named Mickey there?

We went back to lego land to pick up grandma and grandpa. We had one more stop to make. Goofy's! I wanted to make some pretzel rods. Eric said he had enough of walking and waited on a bench by WOD. Mom, dad, Madeline and I hoofed back to Goofy's. I got 3 pretzel rods and even made a cookie for Eric. The CM working said I shouldn't make him one since he didn't walk over. :lmao: My parents got a cookie for Madeline. It had fondant frosting. What ever happened to good old icing or frosting. I hate fondant!

Armed with our snacks we headed out. We had been there from about 8:30 til 2pm.

Next up: Day 5.1 Epcot

Wow, I knew about the restaurant, but I had somehow totally missed the part about Make-a-Dino being there!! Madeline looks like she had such a good time there.

I'm glad you posted about it... my kids have passed that age. (Although Tricia has three bears from Build-a-Bear in her room, still!

You're right... I'll bet "Mickey" is a pretty popular name there!

Kathy

Great update! That build-a-dino thing looks awesome - the dino she chose is adorable! Oh and yes, real men... I mean real dinosaurs wear pink! :lmao: Oh, the Lego store is our black hole - it sucks us in and it's so hard to get out!

you can never be to old for build a dino/bear. I have 2 bears from when I was in my mid 20's. lol

Madeline doesn't play with the small sized lego's yet. If she did I think I would have had to stuff a box there. They sure know how to get you with those "stuff a ____" or "make your own ____" don't they?

I couldn't come up with a catchy title today-- too tired.

I had the alarm set for 6:30am. I didn't need it though. I was up and at em a bit before it went off. My notes say we arrived at Epcot at 8am. Amazingly we weren't the first there. We made it through bag check and went to the far right and stood in front of a turnstile.
DSC_1702.jpg

A while later they let us in. It was time for our first photopass picture.
Image002.jpg

Image005.jpg

I think these were the worst photopass pictures of the trip :confused3
Here are some I took on the way in.

I was itching to get fast passes for Soarin'. Madeline had to go to the bathroom so they took her while I headed over toward Soarin'. I thought they had already dropped the rope. When we were there in 2004 for our honeymoon they did the little show and rope drop right in front of Spaceship Earth. So I hurried along only to be stopped in front of the fountain. :lmao:

So after the character said hi to everyone the masses were let in. I managed to get in front of a bunch of people that were told they had to park their stroller outside. We all headed in and down the escalator. I found they had pretty much remodeled the entire building. The line for Living with the land had been rerouted and Sunshine Seasons looked totally different. The store was gone. I found my way to the fast pass machines and of course managed to get in the line that took forever. With fast passes in hand I walked back across the park to meet the family at Test Track.

They were all just sitting there. I wasn't sure why at least a couple of them hadn't gone on the ride while they waited but oh well. We got baby switch passes. Eric, dad and I went on first. The part outside where we go really fast was faster then I remembered. YAY
Image014.jpg

We then had my dad stay out of the ride with Madeline and went back on. I wish they still did the baby swap where you wait at the exit and go back THROUGH the exit to get on the ride. Having to walk out and then back through the everything got tiring! I wonder why they switched it?
We enjoyed this time on the ride too, although it stalled for about 10 minutes just after we got on.
Image016.jpg

We let Madeline play in the cars for a few minutes because she had waited so long!
DSC_1728.jpg

DSC_1729.jpg

I then got FP's for Mission Space for later.
It was a walk on right then but I didn't want Madeline to have to wait even longer.
DSC_1734.jpg

DSC_1736.jpg

We headed to Spaceship Earth and another bathroom break. I took these on the way. I felt like I was touring with MY grandparents again. When I was a kid I think we'd hit every bathroom in each park as we walked by them. :rotfl:

Anyway SE had a bit of a wait so we skipped it for now and headed toward The Seas with Nemo.
DSC_1740.jpg

DSC_1743.jpg

I was trying to get a picture of the wait times but a Segway tour came through.
DSC_1755.jpg

I think we waited at least 15 minutes for our clam shell. It was a lot busier then I expected. Madeline enjoyed the ride. We looked around the tanks for a little bit.
DSC_1762.jpg

DSC_1767.jpg

DSC_1768.jpg

I was very bored. We skipped the turtle talk show AND Bruce's mouth.
DSC_1769.jpg

It was time for
DSC_1778.jpg

We were all getting hot and tired already so we didn't get a baby swap. We sent mom and dad off to get some lunch for Madeline while Eric and I rode. It was fun but I think it had been hyped too much and I was expecting much much more. We then went and got ourselves lunch while mom and dad went on the ride. I also got fast passes for later.

The food was ok but I liked the offering before the remodel much better! I was very disappointed because in the past we always ate here. I'm in no hurry to eat here again.

Up next: Imagi... what happened to?
