Who Turned on the Heat?! Our sweaty 2 weeks in May! Final Thoughts.

Madeline got an ear infection 2 days before we left for Florida. She was on antibiotics for the first week we were there....

We woke up around 6am I think. We headed to the lobby for our "deluxe" continental breakfast. It was deluxe in the sense that they had a waffle maker. Seriously all the hotels down south have these waffle makers which instantly qualify them as deluxe breakfasts I guess. Anyway, I didn't have a waffle but Eric did. He was obsessed with waffles for the first week of our trip. I guess frozen waffles at home don't do it for him.

After breakfast we loaded up the car and headed out. We were on the road at 7:45am. It was my turn to drive. I would drive for the next 2 hours or so until we got to Valdosta. From there I think Eric drove. I wanted take pictures. Of course my dad wouldn't give up his seat in the front so I had to improvise. (he sat in that dang front seat the ENTIRE trip and didn't drive once!)

At a little after 10 am we saw this:

We stopped at the Florida Welcome center. We had to get our free juice!

We all stopped at the restroom and let Madeline run around for a while. They had a cute little kids area that she could color and do this

She didn't want to go back in the car so we let her run around a little more.

They had a little footprint exhibit that she enjoyed playing around.

We finally managed to get her back in the car for the final leg of our journey. We drove until lunch time. We stopped in Ocala for lunch because we thought there was a AAA office there where my parents could get their annual passes. We ate at Burger King and found out that AAA office had closed. So no discount passes for my parents.

Eric continued to drive. We got on the turn pike. Any of you that have driven on the turn pike know that after the first gas station/bathroom there isn't another one. Of course a little bit after we passed that bathroom. Madeline says POOP! We all just looked at each other and said "ok Madeline just go in your diaper".

I just got done editing the photopass pictures. I turned 175 pictures into 657pictures. It took a LONG time! But at least now the cd is ordered and I should have it next week hopefully.

Well it was about 22-23 hours including stops so kind of took us a long time too.

I know. I don't think the infection was that bad. She was pretty much better after 1 dose. lol Madeline is pretty much pooped trained. Peeing is a whole other story. She throws a fit every time we try to put her on the potty lately. It's very frustrating!

Thanks. Madeline sometimes calls the car seat a cow and sometimes a puppy a la 101 Dalmations.

We left off with Madeline filling her pants. I told Eric to just pull off at the next possible time. I was nervous about leackage. Well about 30 seconds after she pooped she fell asleep so we decided NOT to stop. BIG MISTAKE! So we continued to drive. Around 2pm we arrived in Kissimmee. We couldn't check into the condo until 4pm so the plan was to drive right to Downtown Disney. But first my dad wanted to find the condo. That was easy peasy. We headed back to 192 and literally 3 minutes later we saw this

not the best picture but remember my dad wouldn't give up the coveted front seat. We pulled into Downtown Disney at aroune 2:30. We hit every single red light and they were LONG! I took these on the way to the bathroom.

I went left when I should have gone right and we had to walk all the way to McDonalds. On the way over we noticed that miss M had a MAJOR and I mean MAJOR blow out. It was down to her shoes. Thank GOD she was wearing crocs! We made it to the bathroom and I threw the small changing pad on the flip down table. Thank goodness my mom was there because it was definitely a 2 women (or 4 man) job! I'm sure people were majorly grossed out. The table was right in front of one of the sinks so everyone could see the horrific mess. I ran out of wipes and handi wipes and then mom had to get some napkins from McD's. She still wasn't cleaned up all the way but we did the best would could. Luckily I had thrown her dress from the day before into the diaper bag so she had something to wear.

About 20 mintues later we were on our way. We had 2 missions: get annual passes for my parents and stuff a potato head box. We headed to Guest Relations first. Getting the passes went pretty quickly. We then headed to Once Upon a Toy. Note to self NEVER go to Downtown Disney on a Sunday afternoon again. It was MOBBED!

The potato head area was a nightmare but I managed to get a box stuffed. I realized later that I missed a TON of stuff! Will I get another box??

We then headed back to the car and realized the car seat was a bit dirty too. Oh well it was dry so we headed out. We got the condo right at 4pm and checked in. Got to the condo and headed straight for the bathtub! We then unpacked the car and got settled in. We had to get the side rails set up for Madeline's bed. I was a bit nervous about the bed. At home Madeline sleeps on a queen bed on the floor so it's about 6-8 inches lower then a regular bed. I didn't need to worry though she did GREAT! ( I have some pictures of the condo but they're from later in the trip. I'll put them up in a later installment)

Anyway, then it was off to dinner. We ate at IHOP I believe. Eric was obsessed with Waffle House and for some reason my dad was obsessed with IHOP. Would I ever get a non breakfast dinner meal?

When we returned we all throw on our swimsuits. It was time to test out the pool. We met a nice family and all the men decided to test out the water slide. It was hilarious. This thing shot them out the bottom across the pool. The whole slide shook and rattled when they went down it. Let's just say I did NOT try out the slide.

After the pool it was time to try out the beds. We had an early morning at MK the next day. We planned to make it to rope drop!

You'll have to let me know how the Marriott is. We have a time share also that exchanged through Interval. Is Marriott part of Interval? We're trying to figure out the cheapest was to squeeze in a trip in October (see ticker)

Madeline has only had the blowouts while on antibiotics. THis is the 2nd time it happened. The first time was in the nursery a church.

Ugh...Jenny did that to me when I was nursing her. I had taken her to see Princess Bride 2. She was only a few weeks and I really wanted to see it. It was so gross.

What a great first day. I think we missed so much at Downtown Disney because it was late and starting to rain.

EW. I'm glad Madeline didn't blow out on me. You could definitely spend an entire day at downtown disney. There is so much to do!

I remember those days of blowouts. That's how we got banned from the IHOP in Beaumont, TX. Fun times. Of course the fact that you ate at IHOP later made me .
