Who Loves College Football

For all you MSU fans.....here's wishing your coach as speedy recovery. What a weekend for him. Major gutsy call in OT, then a heart attack hours later.

Thanks for posting that! He was released around 3 pm and is said to be in good spirits and doing really well.

Everyone is so glad he's ok, but it was so odd that that happened after such a tense moment. We were all kind of chuckling that the OT call gave him the heart attack... how coincidental that was!

Your hatred for Notre Dame is kinda funny.....

Isn't odd rooting for these teams to beat ND, when you know that Purdue will be losing to them in the near future?

It comes from living in Northern Indiana. We have a lot of ND fans we call subway Alumni, they are so much for the Irish, but have never even stepped on the campus or even been to South Bend, which is OK but is much fun playing with these fans. They take the wins way to serious and the losses even more. When you have gone to a school or have some other connection it makes more sense of your strong feeling to the school.

Even when Purdue has had good times, aka Drew Brees, the local papers always had bigger coverage of ND over Purdue in football. They also cover I/U in basketball more then Purdue, even when we are ranked and they are not.

I am a big Purdue backer even when we are not very good like this year. All my friends know that no matter what I wear my black and Gold. In most cases I do root for the other Big Ten teams when playing other conferences, because I like seeing more of them in the rankings. It helps everyone in the conference if they do good.

So as I have said in other post great work Michigan State and Michigan. Now Go Standford!!

Look forward to seeing him back on the sidelines. Love his call against ND. We were at AKV and I had fell a sleep watching the game, long day and late game, DW woke me to see replay.

DH is a Notre Dame fan and he is still picking Cinci over the Panters on Sunday. I posted it before, we were not Clausen fans when he was at ND and we sure aren't fans of his in the pros. Maybe some day, he'll make us have to eat our words, but for now it's not gonna happen.

I am afraid that I think your DH is correct. As much as I love my team, I am afraid we are in for a long, painful season. We have mostly young, inexperiennced players. Hopefully this will payoff for us in a few years, but for now, it is really a team that is learning and growing. With a new rookie QB, this season is almost sacrificed for training purposes.

Any thoughts/comments on last weekends' games?

I guess GrumpyPOTFH is still mourning the Purdue loss to Toledo 31 - 20 . . .

Toledo.....Toledo....Let's hope they have a better game against Northwestern. I pull for all big ten teams EXCEPT IU and Michigan. In a game between the two I would hope Michigan wins. That's how much I don't like IU

In the same vein of the ND "Subway Alumni", I offer you this little gem for those who are not fans of Michigan (like me). I hope it gives you a laugh. :lmao:

Checking in from Bronco Nation :)

My DH took these at ESPN "game day"

it is too bad we didn't beat the record....but it was the same day and time as our annual women's fitness walk which drew 12,000 participants!

this is a picture of the stadium lights during Saturday's game. I snapped it from my back patio

last these are a few pictures from an annual scholarship event the 5k "beat coach pete" where coach donates $ for every runner that beats his time. My DH and he were very close all race, but at the end coach Pete drew up a little and waived my DH though the finish line. Afterward all of the players (who also run) sign your shirts.

As I have said before, ther is no bigger backer of Purdue. with that said was at the last game and we are bad, I have been going since 1969 and this may be our worst team ever. I do not think we will even win another game and that includes I/U and I am sure I hate I/U more then you. The problem with Purdue starts and stops with the coach, he is Hopeless!

Also great game Standford! Now go BC!

Well, Urban finally utilized Trey Burton last week with predictible results. He is meant for the spread offense. Just in time for the Bama game to give Saban something to think about but I am predicting Bama by 10 points but..Go Gators!!!

I took my family to the Michigan/U of Mass. game on Sat. . Michigan eked out a victory but I thought that Rich Rod was going to explode on the sidelines. We then went back to the hotel and watche Florida/Tennessee. The Gators have me worried. Their offence is TERRIBLE. I do not think that John Brantley is the man that they think he is. But...Go Gators!

We were there too!! We can't wait to go back for the MSU game on the 9th.

USC Trojans all the way in our house! DH went there. I went to a small school.

My dad's a Michigan alum here so we are Wolverine fans. They're sort of my adopted football team since my school doesn't have one (literally...not that they are so bad it just seems like they don't have one...please no jokes about UM's last two seasons :rolleyes1). And we really strongly dislike Wisconsin...

We were pitifull!!!! We were Purdon't last Saturday. I am just not feeling our QB, Marve. There is just something about him that I don't like. And it's not the person, it's his playing. He seems like a really nice kid.

We'll see. Bama looked a little puny against the hogs! Time will tell.

Roll Tide!

None of my family are fans of Hope!!! I sure was hoping that Brock Spacks would have gotten the job. Brock would not have let this team slip to where it is.

I would call it more then mourning, I have been going to games since 1969 and have seen my share of bad teams. But I now believe this is the worst of the worst. I put all the blame on the shoulders of the coach, Hope who is Hopeless in my book. I do not see anything changing for at least three years. Purdue never buys a contract out. This is his third class he has brought in. I do not even know if we will win another game this year and the includes I/U. I will keep going to the games but I will not be a happy camper.
