Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

Sorry to hear your brother in law has passed. I will keep your family and his my prayers.

Loved your camping TR. I find that there are alot of busy bodies out there, just waiting to get into your business! :sad2:

The prayers are greatly appreciated!

My whole family likes to camp. It's nice to get away. There are definitely busy bodies all over the place.

Sorry to hear that your BIL has passed. Even when you know it is for the best (given what he was going through), it does not make it easier. My prayers are with you and your family.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I can see how the camping trip was well needed. You all looked like you had so much fun. It is so nice to see a family so close like you are.:goodvibes

This past weekend we were in Monroe visiting my parents. Kind of funny that I go to Monroe to relax on the water (they live on the bayou) and you head 4 hours north to camp and relax!

Thank you for the prayers!

The camping trip was very much needed.

Too bad we couldn't have been in Monroe at the same time. Next time you head this way, let me know. Maybe we can meet up somewhere.

Great camping pics, Lisa! It looks so nice and peaceful.

I can't ever understand why people feel the need to baby other adults sometimes. I think it's funny that your neighbor was up early and out of there. She probably didn't want you coming over to tell her she was doing something wrong.

I'm in the "family" mode as well. We are getting down to the end of my husband's MBA program that takes him to Tennessee just about every weekend and I'm looking forward to having family time on the weekends again. He's done at the beginning of December and I just can't wait!

I am not one to get "up in anybody's business" unless they ask me to. So the next door neighbor was, for sure, "unexpected company".

I am sure that you will be glad to have your entire family back together. It's tough when a spouse goes out of town a lot. I'll be praying that December comes quickly for you.

 All of you will be in my prayers.

Wonderful camping TR! We went with Henry just before he turned 1, and then again when he was 2, but we didn't make it this summer due to moving - makes me really miss it! I too just love the freedom of it - no one cares what you look like, it's so relaxing and enjoyable...and YES the food always tastes way better for some reason!

Thank you so much!

Too bad you didn't get to go camping this Summer. I have two camping totes that have nothing but our camping gear in them. I found a People magazine in one of the totes and it was dated somewhere near the end of June, 2009. That's too long to go in between camping trips.

Lisa, I just wanted you to know that all of your family is in my prayers. I'm not sure exactly when the services are scheduled for, but we are sending you many :hug:

I appreciate it Kathy! Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral home. My sister is like me....she doesn't like funerals at all.....so she chose to just do a graveside service instead of a full blown funeral. It was nice and semi-intimate and it went really well.

Lisa, I'm so far behind and I promise I'll be back to catch up.:goodvibes

But, I wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about your BIL. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm been wondering where you've been. I figured since school had started back up, you were busy (as are all of us other Moms).

Thank you so much for the thought and prayers!

Lisa, first I just want to say how sorry I am to hear about your BIL's passing. He is in a greater place now, with no pain, and looking down on all of you! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

I really enjoyed your mini trip report of your weekend of camping! Seems like you all had a great time just being together! Glad to hear that you will be trying to make it a monthly thing! Family is what matters most!!!

Can't wait for an updated Disney report!!!! Have a great weekend!

Thank you! I am so very glad that my brother-in-law didn't have to suffer a full three months at the doctors predicted.

I am so very thankful that my family enjoys being together. With everybody's schedules, it can be hard to get everybody together in one place.

I hope to get a Disney report posted on Monday. Since I was off Friday, I figure there's lots of stuff sitting on my desk.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law, but I'm glad it happened in his sleep and he was not in pain anymore. I thinking of you and your family.

Now on to the TR I loved how they made Hunter's b-day so special at the Plaza. We have never eaten there but its on my list of wants.

The poor raccoon looked like he was praying for someone to come save him! I hope he isn't to traumatized by the ordeal!

Your camping pictures are beautiful I'm glad you had such a good time. Minus the SADPR! Too funny although I'm sure it wasn't then(funny that she high tailed it out of there before you woke up too!

I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers! So far, my sister and her two children are handling it very well.

We were surprised when our server came out with the cupcake and then the Mickey ears. It made the dinner really special.

That's exactly what I said about the raccoon! I said he looked like he was praying that Oddball would go away.

Yeah, I could have done without SADPR! We could hear her up and about super early. I think she probably realized that she had butted in where she didn't need to and wanted to skeedaddle out of there.

Im not sure but did your TR finish or are you taking a break and talking about something else?:confused3

Oh no...I'm definitely not finished. We like to take road trips every so often and I usually post pictures of our goings-on. I hope to get another Disney trip report installment posted Monday.

She's just positing about there trip last weekend and will be back with the WDW trip soon, probably Monday.

You got it! I still have lot of Disney fun left to post.

Lisa, I am very sorry for your loss. Big

Loved all the camping pics, especially the sunset ones. looks like a fun time. We are going to take the girls camping overnight next weekend.

Thank you so very much!

I hope that you guys have as much fun camping with the girls as we did. It's just so nice to relax and enjoy nature.

I just found your trip report and I'm loving it! I'm reading at work though and keep getting pulled away! I hope I get a chance to get everything you have posted to this point read before we leave in 2 weeks!

Erica

Welcome Erica! I'm glad that you found my report. I envy you getting to go to Disney in just 2 weeks. I have way too many days before we head back to Disney.

May be I should slow down my own "Surf N' Turf" Trip Report. I don't have a trip planned for 2011 :sad2: Your philosoply of dragging the Trip Report as long as possible seems like a great idea :thumbsup2 It helps keep you at WDW even if you aren't actually there. ;)

It seems to take me a long time to write my trip reports 'cause I usually do the installments while at work (shhhhh.....don't tell the boss). And, we like to take road trips here and there and I write about them. There's also a lot of chit chat on my reports as I am a talker.

You don't have a 2011 trip planned? I once got a fever or something and actually thought about going somewhere other than Disney. But, I took two Tylenol, went to bed and I was all better the next day.:lmao:

I'm a little late, but I just want to say that I am very sorry about your brother in law. My prayers go out to you and the whole family.

On a brighter note, I really enjoyed all your camping pictures. You really captured some spectacular sunsets. Nice work. It looks like you had such an nice time!

Too bad we couldn't have been in Monroe at the same time. Next time you head this way, let me know. Maybe we can meet up somewhere.

Will let you know next time we are heading in. I am pretty sure sometime during Thanksgiving week will be our next trip in. I will be one of the crazies doing Black Friday shopping!

I am so sorry to hear about your BIL, your family is still in my prayers! The Camping trip report was great...You and your family have so much fun together...and always keep me laughing!

Hi Lisa. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your BIL, but I'm glad it was peaceful and that he is no longer in pain. What a comfort to know where he is today and that his suffering is over. My prayers are with you and the family.

You know me, I LOVE camping! It looks like you had a great time. The park is beautiful! Too bad about the burning ban. That's kind of a buzzkill considering the fire is half the fun of camping! Oh...and congrats on winning the fishing contest! :worship:

Love the WDW updates as well. I've never eaten at the Plaza but the burgers look FANTASTIC! Yum! :thumbsup2

I'm done wandering for a while so I can't wait to hear more! ;)

I'll be right there with ya during Black Friday! Well, unless we decide to go somewhere over the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm thinking we'll stay home since I'm trying to save every dollar I can. Gotta pay for a wedding and three receptions.:scared:

I am so sorry to hear about your BIL, your family is still in my prayers! The Camping trip report was great...You and your family have so much fun together...and always keep me laughing!

Thank you so much! How have you been feeling? I think about you every time somebody mentions headed to your neck of the woods.

We do like spending time together and have agreed that the camping trip was very much needed.

Thank you! His passing was made so much easier knowing that he is now in a much better place.

I thought about you when we were camping. I really did. The burn ban was a buzzkill. We had even loaded up some firewood to take with us.

This is super-yummy looking! :thumbsup2 Did it taste as good as it looks?

Sounds like you all had fun during your camping trip. (Even with the nosy neighbor!)

So sorry about your brother-in-law. I will say a prayer for his family.

Yes it was super yummy! John ate every last bite of it. Mama almost licked her sundae dish clean too. She said it was that good.:lmao:

We did have fun camping and I can't wait to plan another trip. Maybe Miss Nosey Rosey won't be there next time.

I appreciate the prayers!

I am doing well...I was sent to a specialist in Dallas last week. The good news is I do not have a hole in my heart!! But I do have malformations on my lungs, which I will have to have several surgeries to correct :( I am afraid we are not going to be able to go to Disney in December...I dont want to tell my kids if we cant go! :( I was almost in your neck of the woods this weekend..we were in Ruston for my neices birthday! I cant wait to read more of your trip report!

Sorry I'm just now getting around to posting on my own thread. My brother-in-law's funeral was Friday morning and I didn't get on the Disboards too terribly much as I just wasn't in the mood. I really appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers that my Disboard friends have said for our family. I hope that you'll continue to hold my sister, her children and grandchildren in your thoughts as I am sure that they will continue to struggle to cope with their loss.

Lacey is supposed to go to Tennessee to see Jesse tomorrow. Ya'll pray that she makes is safely. I hate it when she is on the road by herself for such a long period of time.

She and Jesse will be putting more wedding plans together. We have to do this as cheaply as possible because, after all, we are paying for the wedding, the reception in Georgia and a reception in Louisiana. Jesse's family is going to pay for the Tennessee reception. We also told her that we would pay for the majority of their Walt Disney World honeymoon. Lord, please let me win the lottery, have my ship sail in or a rich relative bless me a ton of money.:rotfl2:

My niece works for a printing company so we will be able to get the invitations, reception cards, napkins, etc. at a discount. My sister (whose husband just died) has offered to do all of the floral arrangements and bouquets since she used to work as a florist. My other niece who just graduated art school is going to either design the invitations or paint a portrait of Lacey and Jesse to put on the guest book table. She may end up doing both.

As far as colors and theme of the wedding goes, they have changed it up. They are now going with a "natural/woodsy" sort of feel and the colors are now green and yellow with brown accents.

As I've said before, Lacey is not a fru-fru kind of girl. She wants things very simple and nothing "cheesey" as she likes to say. I got tickled at her this weekend when she said that her friend had paid $5,000 for a wedding dress and Lacey said that was just "a big old pile of dumb".

I did get around to listing a couple of new items on Ebay but I still have a lot more to list. I just haven't gotten around to it. I am happy to report that several items have sold which is great because that money is going to either paying for our Disney vacation or Lacey's honeymoon. If you want to see my new items, click on the link in my signature.

So, I guess that's it for life updates in the McBride household. I'm going to pop over to Photobucket and find my fireworks pictures and write a Disney intallment.

Oh my word! I will continue to hold you up in prayer. I hope that the surgeries go well.

Hopefully, you won't have to cancel your December trip. But, if you do, maybe you could reschedule for another time.

You were pretty close to our house this weekend.

Ok so this is not Disney related. A few posts ago, you mentioned that lemons helped with migraines. Myself and my daughters suffer from them occasionally. How do they help. I'm on a presciption, but they are not so any help would be appreciated.

Hope everything is getting back to normal for your family.

Thanks

You will remember that, when I last left off, we had eaten a wonderful meal at The Plaza and, since the Spectro Magic parade had started, we figured we might as well wait for the crowds to die down before trying to make our way out of the park. We hadn't planned on watching Wishes this night but, since there was a table there just waiting on us, we "copped a squat" and waited for the fireworks to begin.

As always, I took pictures while we waited:

SANY2710.jpg

Pesky trees blocked our view of the castle but we still had a good view of the fireworks when they began. I had brought along two cameras this trip and decided to video the fireworks with one and take pictures of the other.

Here's the video of Wishes:

Before the trip, I had bought a cheap tripod for the camera. There wasn't a place to set the camera up but I was able to hold the tripod still on the fence railing in front of me. I was constantly clicking the button and was able to capture some fairly decent Wishes pictures:

We knew that there was no way we'd be able to leave the park since that's what thousands upon thousands of other people were doing. We stayed right where we were and people watched. After about 30 minutes or so, we decided to give it a shot. We were able to wiggle our way through the crowds and across Main Street. My goal was to go into one of the stores and continue our way down until we reached The Emporium. We were able to do that and emerged into a virtually empty spot in the hub.

Mama and I said we wanted to stop at the bathroom before getting on the bus back to the CBR. John and Hunter sat outside on a bench. When we came out, they were sitting on the sidewalk. A castmember had told them that the second Spectro Magic parade was about to begin and that this would be the perfect spot to watch. I didn't remember even seeing that there would be a second Spectro Magic that night. Sweet! We would be able to see each float come through the gates.

**Continued in next post

We kept hearing this hootin' and hollerin' across the street and lots and lots of really fast clapping. We kept trying to see what was going on but it was dark. Finally, we saw this tall guy dressed in bright print shorts, two different calf high socks and a weird orange beanie type hat. Every time a float would come out of the gate, he would start his fast clapping. When the float neared him, he would bend down and make hollering noises to what we guessed were the float drivers. He was superdy dupper enthusiastic!:lmao:

Some of these pictures are out of order because I was using two cameras at the time. Sorry!

When the Queen of Hearts came out, I told John to shake his finger at her. He did and she came right over to him:

Pluto came over to give Hunter a handshake:

You can kind of see "Mr. Hootin' Hollerin' Orange Beanie" man standing across the street in this one:

If you want a really good parade viewing spot, this is a great one. There weren't a lot of people standing, pushing, jumping in front of you, etc. It was a nice spot. Plus, we were able to duck out of the entrance before a lot of the others.

Here's a picture I snapped of John and Hunter walking to the bus stop:

SANY2775.jpg

Our first day at the Magic Kingdom was a truly magical one. We had seen some characters that we hadn't seen in a while (The Tweedles) and some in costumes that we had never seen before (Chip & Dale in their space uniforms). We had seen some people wearing unusual things (remember the guy coming out of Buzz Lightyear with the tight shirt, Mickey ears and a purse?). We had survived being surrounded by the lost dwarfs (Stinky and Smelly). And, we had eaten some really good food (Pinocchio's and The Plaza).

***Up next: Our first experience at Star Wars Weekends!

I get migraines pretty often especially during stressful times. The medication that the doctor gave me makes me groggy and, like any mother, I don't have time to be groggy.

I try to keep lemons and lemon juice concentrate in the fridge at all times. I have found that the concentrate seems to help more. Usually, I pour about half a coffee cup full of lemon juice concentrate, sprinkle in some salt and stir it up. Then, I sip it until it's gone. My husband's neurologist said that lemons are a natural antihistamine (spelling?) and that it helps with the blood flow.

I drink the lemon juice as soon as I start getting the headache because it seems like nothing helps a full-on migraine.

If, for some reason, you don't have lemons or lemon juice concentrate, sometimes a strong lemonade will help.
