Lisa, so sorry to hear about your BIL passing aways. Your family is still in my thoughts and prayers.
Great updates. The Plaza was one of my favs last year.
The pics from the campsite are beautiful.
Thank you so much for the prayers.
I had forgotten how much we enjoyed the food at The Plaza so we were very pleasantly surprised at how good everything was.
The campground is very pretty. During the warmer months, they offer all sorts of programs for the kids.
Lisa, I am so sorry to hear about your bil. He's in heaven now but I know how much you will all miss him. I will really keep all of you and your sister and family in my prayers.
Great updates. Really cracking up with the Plaza Pam story! I love the Plaza, I'll think of your family and Pam when I eat there three weeks from tonight!
Can't wait to see your Wishes footage!
Love the camping pictures, I sort of have a love hate relationship with camping! The spider thing brings to mind the "hate" part of that whole thing!
Take care during a tough time sweetie.
I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. They are very much needed.
Pam was something else. At first, we thought she was trying to play a trick on us but then we realized that she really thought we wanted "lots".
I love camping. It's such a nice getaway from everything. No worries except for whether or not I am going to be the fish catching champion.
Im here (Way late) But im doing it this late because we were there at the same time. Sadly I will not be posting comments as I will be trying to catch up.
Welcome aboard! You can use my handy dandy links in the first post to catch up. Looking forward to reading your comments.
So sorry for your loss. Even though you all know he is much better off now, it's still really hard. 22 years ago today, I lost my step-dad (who was like my dad) to cancer. And it's still hard. My prayers and thoughts are with your whole family.
On a happier note, you took some wonderful camping pictures. I am not a camping person, and it almost made me want to camp. But I emphasis ALMOST.
I am sure that yesterday was a sad day for you. Time passes so quickly but yet it seems like just yesterday when you lose a loved one.
You really should give camping a try. In Arkansas, some of the state parks have a rent a camp (not the correct name) where they provide the shelter for you and it's already set up and everything. That would be the way to go for somebody who wasn't really sure if they want to invest in all of the equipment.
My sympathies and prayers to you and your family. I hope it brings you some comfort knowing he is no longer suffering and is at peace with the Lord.
I am very happy you were able to get away and relax last weekend, you are going to need your strength in the coming weeks.
Loved your photos. HOWEVER... enough with the derned spiders!

I nearly fell out of my chair at the big leggy one on the bathroom floor. I spent 20 years as a rough and tough soldier, I can play with snakes, I don't mind rats, I chase and catch mice to release them outside and I have no problem with bats. But put a spider ... any size spider ... anywhere near me and I run screaming like a little girl.
I really do appreciate all of your thoughts. My sister and nieces are handling things really well. I am sure that it will be hard for them to go through the visitation and funeral but they are also glad that he is no longer suffering.
You are a much braver person than I holding a snake. I am terrified of them. I mean pee my pants terrified. I don't mind mice, rats, bats or most anything else but don't bring a snake anywhere around me.
You should be glad I didn't post the pictures from the year we went camping and the spiders were migrating. There were spiders everywhere....even tarrantulas.
So sorry about your BIL. I will keep his family in my prayers. Thanks for the camping update - that was a lot of fun. I wondered why you were bypassing Lake DeGray to go to Hot Springs Nat. Park. I have always heard that Lake DeGray is the nicest park in the state, and everyone just loves it. You should try it next time and let us know! (I am originally from SE Arkansas, but haven't been to Lake DeGray myself.)
Thank you for the condolences. In all of our years of camping in Arkansas, we have never stayed at Lake DeGray. We've driven down there but never stayed there. I picked up a Lake DeGray brochure and was looking at it last night. It looks like it would be a fantastic place tos tay.
