Who is NOT attending the Epcot Pin Event in August?

It seems that the board these days are filled with messages about the upcoming Epcot Pin Event being held August 9-12. There are parties and meets and breakfasts and dinners and shows and pins and crowds and heat and just about anything else taking place at Walt Disney World that week. But I am sure there is an even larger number of people who will not be attending this event. Never one to be left out of someone having fun, I thought it would be really cool if we had an on-line pin event for everyone to attend; not just those at the parks. I was curious if this type of an event would appeal to anyone? I would be willing to put some things together for this on-line meet if it is something you guys would enjoy. There could be activities and games, chat parties, message parties, and maybe even a few surprises. Of course, there would also be lots of pictures from Epcot so that you could see what was going on down there as well. What I am looking for is a response from everyone on the board as to whether this sounds like something fun to do. I am also looking for some activity ideas as well. Start thinking about it and let me know what you think.

Hey Jeff, we will be having an online pin party on the dizpin boards while the others will be down and sweating at EPCOT.

We will be giving away Dizpin prizes and having contests etc.

Whoever would like to participate, just check out the Online Party board at dizpins and register your info saying that you want to participate.

I'm going to be at WDW for the event, so I won't vote on whether to do this or not -- but it sure sounds like a great idea to me. If you decide to do it, I would be glad to donate a pin from the event as a prize for one of the games or in a drawing.

I would love to participate. I want so badly to go in August but had already planned by trip for October and cannot change it and definitely cannot afford to go twice. I think this sounds like an excellent alternative.

Hey guys.. just bumping this up to the top. I wanted to let you know your vote on this is important. It will be what we use to decide whether we continue with our plans for this meet. We hope that this will be a fun way for those that aren't able to go to interact with people at the event and feel like a part of the adventure. If you want us to do this.. get the vote out!

I'll be home too! I really wanted to go and tried to find a way but it's probably just as well that I didn't since I found out last Friday that I'll be working 18 hour days from now until February! Major job re-assignment!!!!

No vacation for me! But I'll be thinking of you all and propping my eyelids up with toothpicks for the Dizpins Online Party!

(I did get DH to consider a family trip sometime in the next 2 years; something he wouldn't even talk about the past year!)

And I love Duckfan's comment about 'balancing out' Florida........

I have $54 a night ressies at the All Stars I have not cancelled yet. But my hopes faded fast.
I'm broke from DL, excessive pin buying and buying a new vehicle. (A santa Fe )
Also, I will be most likely recovering from shoulder surgery during pin event time anyway.

I am so sad.... Not only can't I go to the WDW event, but I can't even particpate in the online event. Waaaaa waaaaa waaaaa. I will be helping my college freshman DD move into to her dorm that exact same weekend. Since I am a good mom first and a pin collector second, there is no other way around it for me. My body will be helping her move, my mind will be on the online meet, and my heart will be in WDW. The online meet is a fantastic idea... have fun everyone!
