Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

Thanks. One of my OU Board friends e-mailed me last night. They are planning a trip in July and wanted some information from me.

I plan on giving her your information if you don't mind.

But she said they planned on staying at Coronado Springs. Didn't give a specific reason. I did tell her that I had heard that it had more of a "Convention hotel" feel about it.
Not only do I not mind, I appreciate it!!

Whew it's been a busy day today. Getting out of the house this morning was a chore, Lyzzie of course didn't want to go back to school and both girls were "too tired." As was I! Then I got to work and had to rush home to change my clothes around 9:30 after an "unexpected visitor" made a long-overdue visit. That was a nice surprise.   My mom said Emma cried and wouldn't hold still at the dentist, but when I talked to her on the phone she was pleased as punch with her new toothbrush and stickers, and saving a special sticker for Lyzzie. :cutie:

YM: Your DS sounds exactly like Lyzzie. She is just so grouchy ALL the time lately! I swear I don't know what to do with her, I feel like I'm always yelling at her. Even when I go out of my way to do something nice, she has to go and ruin it with a bad attitude and then I tell her I don't even want to be nice to her if that's how she's going to be. Yeah, I'm working on Mom of the Year again.

Linda: So that's what a feather tick is! I thought it was some sort of tick as in the bug. Either way - eeww.

Lesa: I hope Maddie's testing went well. Any results yet?

DznyFan: I think under the circumstances, it would be weird if you did feel any sympathy. You didn't know the man, and the few encounters you had with him were unpleasant. Don't feel guilty or selfish - just because a rotten person passes away it does not make them any better. It's hard to feel that way because a life is still a life, but there you have it.

Amber: Wow. Be sure to keep that email, it sounds like they are doing lots of illegal things and who knows when/how it might catch up to them. The more you tell us about that company, the better I think it is that Mike is no longer associated with those people.

pozey: I've never been to CSR but it never really appealed to me. Sorry I can't be of more help! I thought for a moment that you were planning a trip for yourself, sorry to see that's not the case -- this time.

I WISH it was for me.

I have never been to the resort either.

I am kinda peeved. I decided for our trip that since my parents are leaving on their cruise the day before we leave, and returning 2 days after we return, that I don't want to drive myself to the airport and park the car there. Covered parking is around $25 a day, and the offsite parking is around $10-12 a day. The hassle of dealing with luggage and outerwear with the kids, and worrying about coming back to an iced-over car is something I don't want to deal with.

So today I reserched options for a car service/shuttle to the airport. Found a "shared van" service that I've heard of (***********) and went through the online quote system. It quoted me $50 round trip. Great! I finished the reservation, and it charged my card $100! I went back through the process again - minus the payment information - and turns out even though I selected round-trip, the quote is for each way. The quote then remains on the page while it asks for your return flight information, which mislead me to believe it was the same quote remaining posted. I feel like that was very tricky.

I also called them to clarify something. I made the reservation for 3 people, then saw the confirmation says 3 adults. So I called to see if the ages made a difference in price. It doesn't, but I have to bring my own carseat! So now I have to lug a carseat around the airport and all through Orlando too. So much for traveling light. I do have a small booster seat that I can check, but still. I might buy a folding travel carseat, I think I've seen them pretty cheap at WalMart. It's not good for use on the plane but that's fine.

Ugh, the whole thing just irks me. I do feel better about getting it done though, and knowing I don't have to drive. Of course my mom thinks I should have them pick me up earlier but I said no. 4:30am is early enough for me, thank you very much!!

ETA: Not sure why they starred out the name of the company. It starts with Quick and ends with a metal that is not gold.

Hey guys!!

Happy Monday :lmao: Things are pretty normal here. My house is an absolute disaster from packing which I am not happy about! Tomorrow is Jeremiah's company's court date to see if they are going into Chapter 7. Hopefully the court won't and he will get a paycheck for atleast Feb 1! (He gets paid a month behind)

Pozey- I've stayed at Coronado and I liked it. It is VERY big though and I'm not sure they take reservations for preferred rooms- thats the only way I would stay there again in the future. They don't have a normal food court- you have to be seated and a waiter gets your drinks, etc. for you and they charge a tip on your bill (I think its 15% but I could be wrong...) You can get the food to go and eat it outside or in your room and not pay the tip though. I liked the hotel though, and the pool is gorgeous!

Lyzziesmom- can you use Supershuttle? I'm not sure which airport you fly out of. I've used them before and they are reasonable....

I've never heard of Supershuttle, I don't think they have it here. I fly out of the Kansas City airport (MCI) and I went to their site where it listed all the transportation options. Most are either taxis, limos or the shuttle that goes to the area hotels. The one I chose is definitely the cheapest, and only $30 more than parking offsite and dealing with all the hassle. I'm not really upset about the cost (my parents are paying for at least 1/2 in exchange for me driving THEM to the airport) but I just feel like their website was misleading - and I don't want to lug the carseat around. I think I will ask if they can hold the carseat for us while we're gone.

I'm not sure if thats cheaper or not. :confused3 I can't remember your original quote and I'm too lazy to look right now!;)

DTD and Epcot for our CP package at Coral Reef!

We took the bus to Beach Club and walked to Epcot via International Gateway. We stopped to view the gingerbread carousel!

We were seated on the second tier so there was not enough light for me to take pictures of the aquarium. This was a first for us at Coral Reef. We enjoyed our dinner. DH had the steak, DS and I had the king crab legs and the little guy had fish. DS and I also ordered the great white which is a non-alcoholic pina colada!

134-3443_IMG.jpg

I don't have any pictures at the CP...we just took some great video! It was amazing...I think I already said that.:rolleyes1

Ashley: Thanks for that SuperShuttle info, it is cheaper! I'm looking into it right now. What would I do without my DIS friends? :)

Ashley: Thanks for that SuperShuttle info, it is cheaper! I'm looking into it right now. What would I do without my DIS friends? :)

Great!! I'm glad its cheaper. I do know you have to prepay if your booking roundtrip though- just a heads up! Otherwise you pay for the one ways when you ride to and from the airport.

This might be a double post because the DIS is on the fritz again for me tonight.

Thanks again Ashley! I just made my reservation with SuperShuttle and cancelled the other one (which I also had to prepay - but that one didn't take my mom's Discover card and this one did). It was a LOT cheaper!! And Emma is free, plus I found a discount code online that saved me another $8.00. I just can't thank you enough!! You totally ROCK!

Lyzzie was so funny this afternoon, she has been so bubbly and excited. She was so happy to get back to school! (Even if she didn't want to admit it.) Her class is having a pj/electronics party on Friday and she's very excited about bringing her new sleeping bag and her DS. She's already packing a bag with stuff to bring!

YM: Great pictures! I'd never seen that gingerbread carousel before, that is quite impressive. I loved the ingredient list!

Hi, everyone!!:wave2:

YourMajesty:: I love your new pics!! At first I saw the Lego girl and thought "Who is that girl with the YM family?":rotfl2:
Coral Reef sounds REALLY yummy!!
The pic of your pooped youngun' reminds me of Nathan!! Disney til' you drop!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Lesa:: I thought of our Miss Maddie today.:goodvibes
Sorry Britt was growling as she got out of bed this morning! Nathan got up pretty good, but wasn't a happy camper last night.:scared:

DznyFan:: Sorry to hear of the loss of your DH's brother. That's just appalling how he talked to you; definitely a little hard to work up sympathy for the guy.:sad2: Maybe take your DH's lead as to how he is grieving; if at all. I know, I'm not much help.

Amber:: That is just crazy about the email from Mike's former job!! It seem to me that the company is asking for loads of problems!:eek:

lyzziesmom:: Yay!! You got a good deal on SuperShuttle thanks to our Ashley!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
I'm glad Lyzzie is excited for her party on Friday!! party: party:

Gary and Nathan are starting to watch "War of the Worlds'. I've seen part of it before; I just really don't care for this movie.....at all!!

WOW!! I don't know what to say! Mike is very lucky to be far away from that mess!!!

Quick question……

Has anyone here ever stayed at Coronado Springs? If so……give me your thoughts……good and bad.

We stayed there in Aug 06. We got connecting rooms in the Casitas section. Except for the fact that at OKW we are used to bigger rooms, I LOVED it. I love southwest decor. The pool was amazing and I loved the restaurant. It is very spread out but beautiful.

I know these are a lot of pics but...once I get started it's hard to stop.:rolleyes1

Well I went to the doctor's today. He tells me he thinks acid reflux is causing my throat pain. He says my cold caused post nasal drip, which irritated my stomach, then when I eat my esophagus opens and splashes acid on my throat thus causing the pain:sick: He gave me some Nexium to try. Hopefully that will take care of it.

I had such a bad day yesterday. I was playing with Lilly in the basement and the coffee table has knobs on the front. One of them is loose and of course Lily knows which one it is and keeps wanting to grab it. I was trying to fix it, lost my balance and fell on the screw...cut my knee and ripped my jeans!!

Then last night I was going downstairs...Blake had his hockey stuff out...I saw it, tried to step over it...missed:headache: Fell over it, cutting my left ankle and right shin on his hockey sticks:headache: I was not doing well yesterday!!! You should see the lovely scrapes and bruises. Actually I am lucky it is not shorts weather, my legs have not looked this bad in a long time.

So after my doctors appt I went to the mall. Got myself new jeans, a new sweater, some make-up from Sephora and some birthday gifts for Lilly from the Disney Store.

Matt's feeling pretty good. He was asked tonight to start practicing with the Varsity 2 days a week. I don't think they want to pull him up, but it's good practice for him to play with kids who are better than he is. He is one of the better kids on JV. Challenging yourself is always good.

Lesa....how did the testing go???

YM...love the pictures!!:worship:
Have a great night.

Evening, everybody!

YM - more great pics, thanks!!!! Oh, I just can't wait for our trip!

Poor Michele! Yesterday wasn't a very good day for you, was it? Hopefully things will be better for you! :flower3:

My DH isn't taking things too badly - the last time they saw each other, over 25 years ago, didn't go well. Apparently this guy was a mess. DH's younger brother in that state (not here) is taking care of some funeral arrangements so that he doesn't have to have an indigent funeral. My DH said the very same thing to me that I said earlier - he says "I don't know HOW to feel."

I heard a horrible WDW story today at work! One of my co-workers was out there last week for a few days - it was her and her 6yo daughter's first trip. She said they really did have a good time, despite that it was only a four day trip. She does want to go back, and she didn't complain about anything! This woman is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, very kind, soft-spoken, and laid back. She said there was only one incident while they were there - her daughter and her sister's daughter went to get on Dumbo after standing in line - the girls had 2 Dumbos picked out right in line with one another, a blue one and a purple one. The girls were riding by themselves. She said her daughter went and got in her purple Dumbo, and some woman with a young child apparently went up to the Dumbo her daughter was in, and told her that she needed to get out of the Dumbo and find another one because HER 2 yo daughter wanted a purple Dumbo! So, my friend's daughter, simply following a grown-up's instructions, got out of her Dumbo and got into another one. Apparently after she got off the ride is when my friend and her sister found out what happened; I gather my friend's sister read the woman the riot act after it was all said and done. I couldn't believe it!! (well, I could - I've seen the rudest of the rudest at WDW) but to tell a 6 yo she had to get out of her Dumbo because her 2 yo wanted that color?!?! (like the 2 yo cares!). Sheesh!!! Fortunately it didn't spoil their trip, nor will it keep them from going back. Boy oh boy, you see it all there, don't ya?

DznyFan: We actually had a very similar experience on Dumbo. I may have already told this story. Emma and I waited patiently in line for the Little Ones EMH in September, and Stitch was riding on Dumbo. Emma wanted to ride with him, and we were first in line in the "corral." Well when they opened the gate, Emma ran towards the Dumbo with Stitch in it and a bigger boy - maybe 5 or 6? - PUSHED her down and said, "I'M riding with Stitch, not YOU! I was first!" I glared at the loading CM and she just shrugged. Luckily Emma took it in stride but I wanted to strangle that brat!!

Glad your friend didn't let it ruin their trip. People seem to lose their heads on vacation! Fortunately, I sort of understand - my dad is one of "those" guys. It's just not a vacation with Dad if he doesn't start cursing and leave us somewhere in a huff. (At home he never swears, but on vacation he always does. Go figure.)

Michele: Wow that was a bad day yesterday! I do that kind of dumb stuff all the time. I can't believe it's almost Lilly's birthday already! My how time flies. :(

OMG!! I can't believe that woman ( and I use the term loosely!) would do something like that. Good for your friend for not letting her get away with it without telling her off!! That is insane!!

Hey there guys! Wow, today has been crazy. Starting w/a call at 9am that my grandfather passed away:sad: so, I've had a horrible headache that will not go away from crying. We did go to my aunts and visit w/everyone for several hours. That was really nice b/c we all live so spread out we hardly get to see each other. Guess I'll miss another day of work this week. My dad was so PO'd b/c my grandpa was in WWII and the Korean war, well he was on oxygen and the VA was paying for the oxygen. well, they found nicotine in his system, so they took it away. He was 82 and smoked for 70 YEARS! WOW, that is a long time! Just so sad:guilty: He was truly an incredible man. I respected him so much. I'm sure he's in a much better place now though.
I'm so sorry for loss. My heart goes out to your family.

Lin, I got your card today. Thanks!! It was really adorable! Where did you find them?

Nicole, did you end up seeing National Treasure? I liked it, but nowhere near as much as I enjoyed the first movie. That one is one of my favorites. I think Nicholas Cage is starting to look alittle scary though. :scared1: His appearance really distracted me throughout the whole thing!! He should be able to afford a better toupee than that- (he has one in the first one too but it isn't as noticeable) and to me it looks like he's had some bad plastic surgery....:scared:
I got them at Disney...ON SALE! I was quite excited by my find.

So, I watched National Treasure 2 and was thinking the same thing about Nicholas Cage, but I couldn't pinpoint what was bothering me! Its totally the face thing! Its sort of like its melting slowly, ala Lumiere in Beauty and Beast!

Lin- You're my candle soulmate! :teeth: I got your card yesterday!
Awesome!
Have fun meeting with your new CP buddy! I bet you learn a ton of great tips! Did you find out yet where you will be working?

Good morning glories! It has been an uneventful morning around here, which is just the way I like it. I woke myself up yelling at my mom in a dream, so after I was up for a while I called her to tell her that she woke me up. She was very confused!

In my dream, my parents were here and were working on something in our playroom all day but wouldn't let me in to see what was going on. When I did see it, they had removed all our Tink stuff and turned it into an ugly 70s bedroom! They put in green shag carpeting and a giant bed with the ugliest comforter I'd ever seen - dark brown with Pepto-pink and orange blobby shapes on it, all covered with these bright yellow flowers that had rectangular petals and were the size of dinner plates. Yikes! I yelled "NO!" and my mom (still in my dream) kept saying, "Oh you'll get used to it. I'm not changing it, I paid good money for this stuff at Goodwill! You'll learn to like it." And I kept yelling, "No, no nOO!" The one that woke me up was when I yelled, out loud in my sleep, "No, get it OUT!" It was horrible! Pretty funny now though. When I called Mom to tell her about it, she said it didn't sound that bad to her. Aaack!
This is so very Friends! Your dream is hilarious! And the outfit is quite stellar!!!!

I need some advice from my cliqueless friends :o We are trying to figure out how to get all our stuff to Florida. A moving truck costs too much more than we want to spend, and a trailer you pull with your car is expensive too (and Jeremiah is nervous about driving with it...)

My Grandparents gave us this idea: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02872018000P?keyword=car+roof+rack
Anybody have experience with this? We don't have a roof rack but can you get one of these without one, (by just strapping it to your roof?):confused3 I'm really confused! Jeremiah is leaning towards just bringing our car down, and I want to throw away alot, but not that much :scared1:

Anyway, anybody have any suggestions? We were also considering just sending some boxes down...
We usually rent a uhaul...I have always realized that no matter how much I think I have to pack, when it comes time to fit it into the vehicle it seems to multiply by a million. Good luck!!!

Featherbeds were only for the rich in the 14th century, but by the 19th century they were a comfort that ordinary people could aspire to - especially if they kept a few geese. The beds, also called feather ticks or feather mattresses, were valuable possessions. People made wills promising them to the next generation, and emigrants travelling to the New World from Europe packed up bulky featherbeds and took them on the voyage. If you didn't inherit one, you needed to buy up to 50 pounds of feathers, or save feathers from years of plucking until there were enough for a new bed.

It is kinda like a thick comforter type thing you put on top of your mattress for extra cushioning. we don't use them anymore but always did at grandmas house. This one was handed down from Mikes grandmother:guilty: picture tons and tons of wet, moldy, rotted feathers..everywhere! Nasty and such a shame. Old handmade quilts from his grandmother :headache: so sad. His sister passed away when she was about six from cancer, and he has all her old toys, blankets, and all that stuff too b/c his mom doesn't trust anyone else w/it. thankfully none of that was in there!
That is quite the bit of trivia; very interesting! We have one of those and we use it sometimes, but after a while it makes my back hurt. Thats so sad that you guys lost such meaninful stuff, I'm glad Mike's sisters stuff wasn't in that bin. That is so sad.

So I'm really confused about how I should feel. I got a message a little while ago from DH that his older brother passed away - apparently some time last week. I've never met the guy, he lived in another state. It was my understanding that he was in/out of correctional facilities and had pretty much wasted his life. I've spoken to him on the phone - he used to call us from time to time - I was always the one to answer the phone, and every time, he'd start ripping into me for no apparent reason - spouting hatelful profanity at me the whole time. I don't know if I should feel bad for DH and DH's family (who treats DH like dirt) or what..... :confused3 personally, I'm like "whatever", and I don't know if I should try to console DH or not - my personal feelings are "why?", but I don't really know the whole history. What really kills me is that DH's father is reportedly 'devastated', but #1, we've always been told that wasn't his kid nor is DH or #2 he hasn't had anything to do with his family in MANY MANY MANY years, plus the whole prison thing.... oh, heck I don't know! I guess I probably sound heartless...
I guess I'm trying to think through this because I don't feel any sympathy, and don't know what I should feel...
I'm sorry. Its confusing when you don't know how to feel. I remember being very little when my great-grandpa and great-grandma died. I felt like I needed to be sad because everyone else was sad, but I didn't understand it. Good luck sorting things out, it seems like you both have a handle on it and are on the same page.

I just need to vent for a second.

Mike's former company must be the biggest bunch of idiots I have ever heard of.

Today, I get an email from them explaining new procedures. Now, I realize that Mike not being there is a new development, but 1.) weeks ago they said they didn't want to use private email accounts and 2.) shouldn't they be a little careful of sending out company info to a former employee???

They are also (seemingly) going to make him salesperson (which is good for them, since he will make much less than Mike). How on earth is that guy suppose to get to accounts when he isn't suppose to drive??? Of course, they are going to let him drive with a suspended license.

They are just stupid beyond belief.

Mike did send a bunch of resumes off yesterday and today, so please pray that one of them pans out.

OK, now I need to go catch up with everyone.

As Michelle Tanner would say..."How Rude!" That is nuts. Where do peoples brains go when they go on vacation!!!!

Pozey, tell the boys congrats!!!!!! From what I have heard about CSR it is very nice and has a few more amenities than the other moderates due to the convention status. But, I have also heard a lot of complaints about how spread out it is so it is optimal to request a room near the main house. There is guy on the resorts board that has a CSR website and it is pretty great!! His user name is Buzz 2001.

Today was our first day back at work and it was hard to get up! We have finals next week and the kids are not in the mentatlity to take them. I can't believe you Okies have them now! Thats nuts!!!! We have UIL One-Act Play auditions tomorrow! Fun Times!

For those of you Shutterfly people, we got an email today that had a calender special in it if you order by end of the day on Wednesday.

Good evening my wonderful friends.
