Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

Wow!! You guys are a bunch of night owls!! I'm so darn old that I just don't stay up! Actually, Friday night DH and I were over at some friends having some drinks and playing games - didn't get home until 1:30... Then my giant dog woke me up at 5-somthing to go use the bathroom - he'd been groomed earlier and the groomer's daughter overdid it with the treats, he had a little intestinal upset.... ugh. Then he woke me up around 7:00 for the same thing again. No more sleep for me. My backside was draggin' yesterday. I went and washed DD's car for her yesterday morning, then brought it home and waxed it - can you say obsessive-compulsive?
We picked up DD, then took her out for dinner, and she had lots and lots of stories to tell and pics to share of her mission trip. I did get to bed at a reasonable hour, though, and got some sleep.

I can really relate to the IN-SOM-KNEE-UH... I have a little hormonal imbalance due to a surgery and do not sleep well anymore, I typically medicate to sleep which stinks, but it beats not sleeping.

Lyzziesmom- I think you're a rock star!! (Because you obviously can drink like one!) I'd have been passed out under the table.

Nicole - great to hear good news about your grandma!

I did catch up on everybody's posts, and it seems as though everything is going OK, with the exception of flood issues and car issues - and butt-crack issues... :lmao: Where's Pozey and April?

And I'm about halfway through the first Stephanie Plum!! Great book, and I'll probably go pick up #2 today so that I can go right into it after I finish this one. Just the ticket for needing new reading material. Time to go get ready for church, I'll catch up later!

Oh man, I was up way too late last night with this group of crazy people I met. And this one girl drinks like a fish. Good thing it's only once a year--or so she says. :confused3 :teeth:

Hope everyone slept well. It took me a while to wind down after our wild par-tay but as soon as I did, I was crashed. I woke up this morning with the front of my hair strangely resembling Donald Trump.

For some reason I feel the need to go to Target today. A couple of reasons--want a $4 Starbucks, want to look at Shabby Chic stuff and I think I need to re-invest in the first few SP books because for the life of me I cannot seem to find mine. I think I may have lent them out, but to whom and when, I have not a clue. They were in paperback so not a huge loss. Sometimes I wish I could buy a new memory.

DznyFan--sorry you missed the party last night. I am no spring chicken so I was shocked that I lasted that long. Well, maybe not--I have become a night owl lately. Hoot.
So glad your DD made it home safely. I am sure you love having her back. Does she do mission trips often??

Lyzziesmom---have a good packing day. Too bad we are not closer, I would love to help decorate. Your vintage Barbie prints sound awesome. My sis got some really cute prints for her kids' bathroom--they are old-fashioned toothbrushes and underwear. They are sort of drawings of them. I cannot remember where she got them, but I have seen them, I think at a little exclusive shop in my area. I think this is the fun of getting a new house--making it your own. I am the type that I try not to impulse buy. My sis says that is what she loves about my house--everything has a meaning. She says this, I don't. :confused3
I am only about five hours away, but I think I can make it in four. :car:

Has anyone seen April??? We miss you!!!!!!!

Hi Pozey---where are you, too??
and MImom

Not me! When I was just about to log off last night, as I was about to type my last post, I started to get a migrane! The letters on my keyboard started to float! I couldn't sleep at all. And to add to that, I think somethings wrong with my bladder.

Amazingly though I'm not tired, later on I know will be!

Hi everyone!

I'm surprised I'm even awake right now! Last night after I got off here, my Aunt called me! I was shocked b/c she normally wouldn't call me that late but she was in crisis..lol. She works at the Hard Rock Cafe & Casino in Hollywood, FL so she usually gets home at about 1 or 2. Anyway, she was panicking because she is going to meet her 1st boyfriend she ever had for dinner on Tuesday and she's so nervous! I was like, "Brooke, I understand you want to look good, but he's gay! I don't think he'll care what you look like!" (She just found out he was gay when she looked him up on Myspace. Remember when my Grandparents dog Missy died? Well he is the one that gave them Missy for Brooke's birthday present. So she wanted to thank him for Missy and tell him she passed away and thats how they got into contact.)

She was like "I know he's gay, but I haven't seen him in 10 years and I still want to look good!" :rotfl2: :confused3 :teeth: Anyway, so I was up until like 4:15 am. I know I'll crash later and want a nap!

I think we're going to try & finalize the plans for going to FL today. I'm going to try and find the cheapest airfare for me and DH. I also want to try and go to the pool. It seems like our tradition on Sundays lately!

How much do you guys think I should allocate for a hotel on the way? We are going to stop somewhere the first night of traveling, maybe in North or South Carolina.

Hope everyone's having a great Sunday!!! :Pinkbounc

Hey guys want to pop in and say hi!! :wave2: :wave2:

I've worked up a momentum and I don't want to stop!!!

I'm decluttering and throwing out like you wouldn't believe (cause I can't believe how many trash bags I'm carrying out of this house)!! It's not "trash".
After I wrote that I had visions of you all envisioning my house filled with old milk cartons, empty toilet paper rolls, empty soda bottles and take out containers just laying around that I'm bagging up. Well, not that kind of trash but old things that I'm coming across saying, "Why have I held onto this for this long?" Like cleaned out Yankee Candles and lids (what was I going to do with these? :confused3 Use them to collect more junk?) , cat toys that the cat just never liked and doesn't play with. Half empty bottles of lotion that I've grown tired of. . .stuff like that. I've started working with the motto, "I'm only going to handle this once" so if I pick up an item and I have to think long and hard about it, I probably don't need it and I'm pitching it.
Tomorrow we have our first realtor coming out to do a walk through so that she can work up a market analysis for us. Keep your fingers crossed it's a great price!! Anyway, I'm working like crazy but I just wanted to say "Hey Hidey Ho!!"

I'll have to read and get caught up with everybody later. :goodvibes Don't know when. Maybe tomorrow night or Tuesday. I figure I want all excess clutter cleaned up by tomorrow night at 7pm when the realtor comes this way I have a deadline so I know I'll have some time on Tuesday at least. So, nobody get hurt or have any crisis until I get back!! --Isn't that what our moms' used to say? :teeth:

I'm listening to Live365 Disney feeds and it's terrific!! Really keeps me going cause after we move from here and get settled DH says we'll take one heck of a trip!!!  :Pinkbounc   Maybe that's why I'm working like a fool?!?! :rotfl2: :lmao: Remember I couldn't get in gear before? Now, I've got like two whole rooms decluttered of all excess! Who knew I could do it?

Anyway, I keep rambling and I'm not getting anything done. Talk to you all soon!

I miss you guys! :grouphug:

Wow, I go away for the weekend and you guys have a heck of a party :thumbsup2 .

I heard from DH late Friday night, Saturday morning for him. I was that crazy wife everyone talks about. I even called his office and asked the receptionist if anyone there had heard from him. She turns around and hollers thru the office "Michele wants to know if anyone has heard from Blake?" :lmao: I know he is going to get razzed terribly when he comes back. Plus next Sunday the company is taking everyone and their families to the Detroit Tigers game so I have to see them all after making a fool of myself. He was in a hotel with no internet access and everytime he would think to call me he says he realized it was like 5 am here and he didn't want to wake me up.

The drive to Illinois was horrible. It should take around 6 hours, it ended up taking 8. It was me and my 2 boys in the car, 13 & 14, plus I was still a nervous wreck about DH so I was in rotten mood before we ever hit traffic.

Some of my family it was good to see, some not so much. My sister and I used to be so close when we were growing up but as bad as it is to say I really don't like the woman she became. She and her first husband have been married for 13 years and I still call him her 'first husband' cuz I keep hoping she will come to her senses and boot his *** out of the house! He is a complete jerk. When I first met him I thought ok I don't like him but as long as he treats her good then I will make the best of it. Well he doesn't, he is so mean to their son who is 12, he doesn't help her with anything. At one point Sat evening she asked him to go get some cartons of ice cream. This was a b-day party for him, (the idiot), their son plus my DB 2 girls who turned 3 and 5. The girls had a regular cake with Cinderella and the Prince on it and my sister had an ice cream cake for hers. He was arguing that we didn't need ice cream since there was an ice cream cake. She was trying to explain that some of the kids would want regular ice cream, etc. He blew a gasket and stomped upstairs to pout :confused3 She had to get it herself.

I'm rambling I know, I am just so tired. The only smart thing I did this weekend was insist on staying at hotel. Everyone else camped out at the 2 houses, my other brother and his family live a mile away. I knew I was going to need to get away from it all, where's the Calgon when you really need it.

Thanks for all of the pixie dust.

Hello kiddies--

Well, it's Sunday eve. and my day off is almost over. Back to work early tomorrow. It's gonna be a long week, but I am off all of next weekend. Yay.

Hope everyone's Sunday went well. I did not do much. I was a bit lazy but it's okay because I wasn't feeling the hottest and I suppose my insomnia is catching up to me. I didn't even go to Target like I wanted to. I went to church this evening and to the market. That's all. No more, no less.

I know this may be a bit depressing, but could you all keep my cousin in your thoughts. He is going through a really rough time right now. He is about 28-29?? As I have mentioned before, we are a very close-knit family. We get together all of the time for bbq's and such. My grandma, the matriarch of the family passed away in March and it has been rough ever since. Anyway, my cousin has been the type to go from job to job, he is gay (he has been open for years, even my gram knew), and he just can't seem to get his life in order. On the other hand, he is so handsome, very talented in art and just is the sweetest guy. I am very close to all of my cousins, but he holds a special place in my heart, as well as my mom's. Well, long story short, he called his mom on Friday from a bridge and told her that he loved her but he just can't do it anymore. He said he feels like such a loser. They had found that he had taken LOTS of anti-depressants as well. Somehow, she talked to him (she is a nurse) and he did not do anything. Thank God. I don't know how she kept it together on the other end of the phone. Anyway, he is getting help and has been under a watchful eye ever since. I know my gram is watching over him, as she had such a special relationship with all of us. Sorry, this is a bummer, but please keep him in your thoughts. Much appreciated.

Nicole--sorry to hear you had a migraine last night. Did we keep you up too late with all of our wild antics?? Hope you are feeling better now. Get some rest.

Ash--the story of your aunt is hilarious!! No matter if he is gay or not, I understand the need to try to look your best for someone who you have not seen in ages. No one wants to think they have aged or have gone "downhill". Plus, gay men have a tendency to be pretty honest of how your looking and are very eager to give you their opinion on your style, fashion, etc. Believe me, I work with them. haha
I am not sure what to tell you about hotels. If you are anything like me, a hotel needs not to be a fleabag, so I would make sure it has a good reputation. It does not have to be a fivestar for just a passing through one nighter, but it does have to be clean. Maybe you can find some good deals. Are you planning to make advance reservations or stop wherever you decide to pull off for the night??

Hey, April--what's up girl?? Sounds like you are a busy bee. You are giving me inspiration to de-clutter. I like your motto. Good luck with the realtor tomorrow. Fingers and toes and everything else crossed for a good price. :goodvibes Your hubby sounds like such a sweetie. I'd work like a banshie too if I was promised an ubertrip. What a great incentive.
How's WW going?? I am not legitimately on the program, but have really been watching what I am putting in my mouth lately. I think a couple of you girls here had something to do with my sudden willpower. :sunny: Keep up the good work and we miss you too!! :grouphug:

MImom-- Welcome back home. I am so glad you heard from DH. I totally understand your worrying. I would be the same exact way. Who cares if people think you are nutso. :lmao: Let 'em think. Better safe than sorry, that's what I always say, especially since he is out of the country.
LOL at your comment about your sister's first husband. I didn't catch it at first, but then something clicked and I did LOL. :rotfl2: I just finished your story about him. What a jerky-boy. Grow up!!!
I'm sorry you didn't have the best of times like I'm sure you had hoped. Just think, you are home now in your own cozey bed, you know DH is well, you have purchased some Calgon, if not only in your head and you can SLEEP. Time to relax now.

Everyone have a good night and I am thinking about you all!!!!! Thanks for always listening, providing me with laughs, touching stories and just being there. You are all such good cyber-friends. I know, you say, what's up with crazy 2xcited?? Just sappy tonight, I suppose.

Wow, I am just not capable of a short but sweet post, am I?? ;)

Hello party animals. ;) Sounds like a few of us are short on sleep...not me because I took a 2.5hr nap today (down from a 3 hr nap last Sunday).

Nicole: Good to hear all went well with your Grandma. :grouphug: Sorry about your headache...is it better?

DznyFan: Sounds like you had a busy weekend. Sorry about the sleep issues...I usually take benadry...have since my ds (6) was about 2.5. I'm like you...I need the sleep. Glad to hear your DD made it home safely. :cheer2:
I bet her car looked spiffy!

April: You go girl. :woohoo: :woohoo: You practically motivated me to clean out my junk...I think I would be happier if it was gone. :rolleyes1

Hey 2excitd: How was the Starbucks? No nap today? Hey ave your started #1 on the reread? :yay: :yay:

MI mom.... :wave2: good to hear from you. Sorry your drive wasn't so great...or the relatives...but when are they (just kidding...but I know what you mean about Calgon). Here is some Calgon dust pixiedust: I'm glad all is well with your DH...I would have been the same if I hadn't heard from mine...Does he have one more week before he comes home?

Donna, hope your had a fun day today...I see fantasmic was shceduled for 9 and 10:30 ...how was Hollywood and Vine?

I'll check back in a bit for updates. :wave2:

Ashley :wave2: Is this your crazy aunt? That story is a hoot...I would have to agree...it not like they were meeting for a date. Hope you can find some reasonable tickets to get to Florida? How many miles is the drive...just thinking about where you might want to stop on the way home. Usually a hotel that you just pull up too like a holiday Inn express, Comfort Inn etc will be around $75 a night...maybe more. If you knew for sure where you wanted to stay you could make a resevation online for a better price. Good luck. :sunny:

Hey chickie--

I didn't go to Target or Starbucks because it seems as though I took an ALL DAY NAP!!!!! Just couldn't get motivated. Like I said before, wasn't feeling the greatest today and I have a busy week ahead so I rested today.

I was a bit perturbed, to put it nicely, at the market tonight. I mentioned that I cannot seem to find my first few SP books--can't recall if I lent them out or not. Anyway, after church tonight I went to the market to pick up a few things and I walked over to their book section to at least pick up #1 in paperback. Do you believe they didn't have it. They had #6 on up. I want to start OVER--with #1, not #6. Plus, I have #6 already. I was not a happy camper. I had frozen food and it is about 100 degrees outside or else I would have made a quick stop at Target as well, but by the time I got home, unloaded groceries, ate a quick bite, etc. I did not feel like going back out. I will try to stop tomorrow after work at Target.

Whew, I am out of breath with that paragraph.

YM-- :worship: :worship:

Forgot to mention that they are building a brand spankin' new Starbuck's with a drive-thru right up the street from me. How con-veeeen-ient.
:moped: :moped:

YM...Nope, its not the crazy Aunt!! That is DH's Aunt, not mine, thank God! (Mine is still pretty crazy though... :) ) It is 1024.3 miles total. I don't think we're planning on making advanced reservations...I think we're going to just play it by ear. This is the first time that I will be making this long of a trip in probably 14 years..I know I'll be driving DH crazy with my bathroom stops, plus we will potentially have the dog and we have to take that into account. So we might stop sooner than we think. I think we'll probably stop at a Holiday Inn because they all take pets.

2xcited: I got why she would want to look her best, but DH doesn't get it. Men. :confused3 (Sorry Pozey :teeth: ) I don't like staying in fleabag hotels, either. Hey, by the way, my smiles still aren't working!!!

I hope I have definite plans by tomorrow when I'm going. My mom said she is going to a Marlin's baseball game on Wednesday and she wants to know if I want to go so she can get tickets. I also want to make sure I have an aisle seat because I get anxiety when I fly!!! Plus I need to pack. :artist:

*sigh* All this talk of hotel prices is making me feel old. It wasn't that long ago that I would drive up to WDW and grab a hotel on I-Drive for $29 a night with NO reservations. Now mind you I wasn't staying at the Hilton, and on one unfortunate trip I did end up at the Casa Rosa, aka Home of the Singing Toilet, but sometimes I'd land in a nice Days Inn, Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn... pretty much any Inn is ok in my book. Then again I'm the type to just do the parks to death and a hotel is simply a place to crash & clean up before doing it all again.

Can somebody please send me a boat? I'm going to need it to get into my utility room at this rate. Every towel I own is either in the washer or the dryer at the moment, and 2 rugs plus 3 of my mom's towels are on the floor. I did leave out one towel for my morning shower, but in a pinch I guess I could just splash around in the rising tide. I'm so mad at my apartment. We got a new management company a few months back and this place that I love so much is really going downhill. It still looks nice and all, but they have raised the rent (for new renters) by over $150 so they can pay for a newer prettier roof - nothing wrong with the old one - and our water bill is suddenly twice what my parents pay in a 6-bedroom house. I guess we are also paying to keep the pools full. The official word is "we have a call in to the water company and we'll let you know." I'm not holding my breath.. that was 2 months ago. The service is nil. Our lovely maintenance man was supposed to call me back last night and/or today... nothing. I called the "emergency maintenance" line tonight... nothing. Ugh. Sorry for the rant but I'm just so fed up.

April - when you're done, how would you like to come & declutter my place? I started packing this afternoon but I didn't get much done, other than fill up the place with empty boxes which the kids think are excellent forts. Gosh I remember those days... moving used to actually be FUN. I've also got 1/2 done laundry and assorted pantry items stashed wherever they fit, in the mad rush to salvage things from the floodwaters. It sounds like you're really in the zone, keep it up! I hope all goes well with the realtor.

Michele - So glad to see that you heard from your hubby!! Don't worry about being the crazy wifeypoo... I'm sure they all secretly think it's sweet that you used your super detective powers to track him down 1/2 way across the world! Oh, and I hope he now knows that he will NOT be waking you up, so call away!! And I'm totally with you on staying in a hotel vs. with the relatives. It's hard enough to be on "good behavior" during a daytime visit! My DD's grandparents in FL give me such a hard time when I won't stay with them... the only space they have is in the room with my ex, who is 38, jobless and smokes pot all day while playing Grand Theft Auto. I SO prefer the Fairfield to bunking with the Eternal Teenager.

2xcited - WOW about your cousin. I wish I had the right words to say. Things can get really tough, but they can and do get better with the right people around you and a lot of determination. Everything I type looks stupid and I keep deleting it, so I'll simply say I wish him well.

Nicole - Yay for your grandma!! Surgery is always so scary. The two times I have had any surgery, plus when I had my kids, my mom made me scribble a will on a piece of paper "just in case." The woman's a barrel of laughs, I'm telling you. Now THAT'S something you never see on the Discovery Health Channel.

YM - Nap? What's that?? I think the last good nap I had was in my car during my lunch hour.

Donna - How was H&V?? I waffled on whether to make ADR's there or not (did you like my hint about the Mickey waffles there? Huh? Didja, didja??) and settled on not. We loved the Sci-Fi and my Dad really wants to try it out too. But I've still got a few weeks to change my mind!

I'm sure I've forgotten someone, or something that I really wanted to comment on... but since I'm convinced nobody reads my posts anyway it probably doesn't matter! Nighty-night all!

Hi Missy Mouse - what a cute name!! All are welcome to join in the madness around here, reply away.

Lyzziesmom: I read your posts everyday! :) I'm sorry your still having trouble with your utility room. Moving is such a pain. I am really dreading when we have to move! But I guess it is a good way to get rid of stuff.

is it really this late?? Oh, not again.

Lyzziesmom-- thanks for the well wishes for my cousin. No matter how you said it, was very sweet of you. :)

Your ex sounds lovely. Is he and butt-crack boy friends?? Just wondering.

I used to love to play with the box-forts when I was a little girl. That, and opening an umbrella underneath the bedspread. Good times. Good times.
