Good Morning!

Linda, have fun in KY!!

pozey, great pictures.

Lin, thanks for the heads up on the sale. However, I will be staying FAR away from TDS this weekend (spent way too much last week). :)

How on earth did Joe Perry get roped into playing on AI???

That's what I said. I only watched part of it, but they butchered the Beatles.

I did not get to watch Lost, so if anyone did PLEASE don't say what happened. :ssst: I have been avoiding all tak about it. :tiptoe: Thank you!

I just noticed this smilie: :squirrel: Weird.

Have a great day!!!

Ashley: I was recording AI but I actually watched it live, and I'm SO glad I didn't wait until later. I would have missed the end too - it ran 9 minutes over! A minute or two I would expect, but NINE?? I'd have been so mad to sit through 2 hours of filler crap and then miss the whole point of the darn show. It turned out pretty much how I thought it would though. Lyzzie was excited to see Joe Perry -- she has decided that since she is going to try RNR next time at MGM, she'd better learn as much about Aerosmith as she can. Except she forgot their name and accidentally called them The Airheads!

pozey: Great pictures! You can see he really is enjoying himself.

Linda: Gotta butter up Mike for the DVC talk, huh? Whew, glad to see Kenny's made up his mind after all those years and years and years! Has he told the girl yet? ;)

That breakfast smoothie/cookie combination looks delicious! Just the sort of thing I would indulge in at WDW. I'm already counting the days until we go back... and it's way too many!

I didn't know it was going to get cold today... supposed to drop into the low 50's this afternoon. I put the girls in matching sundresses! Oops, it seems like I am always dressing them for the wrong weather. Darn Kansas weather, the forecast changes every hour! I had a light jacket to go with my outfit but left it at home, I actually said out loud, "It's not been jacket weather." D'oh!

I forgot to take my daily pain meds this morning. I hope I'll be ok, with the weather change and all it's usually pretty hard on me. I do have some of the milder pain pills with me so I guess I could just load up on those, but those are the ones that make me hyper so it'll be an interesting day to say the least!

Hey, am I the only cliqueless DISer whose kids don't have tv's in their rooms? Up until last Christmas, I didn't even have one in my room, we had just the one in the living room and that's kind of the way I like it.

I am not a fan of Oprah but I did see the headlines about her dad's book and I just figured he was trying to cash in on her name. I think I'd heard about her early pregnancy somewhere - it would kind of explain why she always seems standoffish around kids. I just don't really like the woman... but I will watch her show IF she has someone interesting on.

I'd better get some work done!

I do have a HUGE favor of those who will be seeing POTC3 this weekend--------I will not be able to see it until next weekend and I made a promise that I will wait until then (which if gonna kill me:laughing: ), so my asking of you all-----please no spoilers. Greatly appreciate it, thanks. Enjoy!!!!!

Amber---enjoy your movie tonight!!!(I am secretly really jealous, but a promise is a promise)
Get there reeeeeaaaalllly early!!

No spoilers; got it! :thumbsup2 (thumb)

Mike is going to have a long day, so I am hoping to leave as soon as he gets off work. We'll probably grab something quick to eat and then head to the theater.

I am so excited!!!! There is nothing better than Johnny Depp on the big screen. pirate: YUM!!! :teeth:

Hi 2x!! I actually did think about a quick weekend jaunt to WDW... then I remembered it's crowded on Memorial Day weekend. Forget that! Lyzzie wants to try FW camping in a tent - I am not a camping type of girl but I could probably swing it for a weekend... IF the airfare was cheap enough... SO not happening. I remember that commercial! In fact I sometimes say that too, and my kids give me that "Mom just sprouted a third eyeball" look.

Amber: That's a cute squirrel smiley! But I can't think of a good occasion to use it.

Nicole---a B???? Oh, I think NOT!!!:lmao: :lmao: ;)
Was the movie critic literally blind (like in--can't see), or is this just a "title" since the movie was not officially released?? I'm confused.:confused3

Yes, he's blind, here's a link to his reviews. I don't think POTC 3 is up there yet. http://www.blindsidereviews.com/index.html

I am so excited!!!! There is nothing better than Johnny Depp on the big screen. pirate: YUM!!! :teeth:

pirate: You got that right! I might have to PM you tomorrow, I want to be spoiled!:rotfl:

Underdog and Donna, thanks for the cookies and smoothie. I had them together this morning.

Lyzzie was excited to see Joe Perry -- she has decided that since she is going to try RNR next time at MGM, she'd better learn as much about Aerosmith as she can. Except she forgot their name and accidentally called them The Airheads!

Hey, am I the only cliqueless DISer whose kids don't have tv's in their rooms?
Airheads!?!? That's funny! (but kind of painful as I'm a HUGE Aerosmith fan - since the 8th grade. that's a LOOOOONG time.)

The answer is no to your TV question. We've never believed in it. No TV, no computer, no phone line. We are evil, evil parents.

I am so excited!!!! There is nothing better than Johnny Depp on the big screen. pirate: YUM!!! :teeth:
Oh, yeah!

Pozey, love the photos! It looks like Colton's having a great time!

Have a safe trip, Linda!

2X - :wave2: I promise - no spoilers.

Where's Underdog with our late night snacky and libations? I'd like to request something rum and fruity!

Sorry, I'll work on something for tonight! What goes with RUM? :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!!!!!! The weather here is nice and sunny. Love it...:cool1:

My dear Underdog, ANYTHING goes with RUM!!!!!!!!!! Its the one thing I could really overdo if I had the chance and wasn't paying attention....

Lyzziesmom, I didn't grow up with a TV or a computer in my room. I did get a phone line at some point but it wasn't private and I rarely used it. If the room hadn't been prewired for phone I'm sure I never would have had one. Chris on the other hand had the whole shebang, phone, computer, tv, vcr, etc. This is a fight we will tackle when we have kids...I don't want them to have that stuff in there and he will not see why I don't. Oh well, we'll tackle that when we get to it in the distant future.

Linda, have fun in KY!!!!!

Well, I'm off to see a man about a monkey... Actually, I'm off to get a snowcone at Bahama Bucks in Lewisville. None of you know what Bahama Bucks is...so, its the best shaved ice in the whole world. They started in Lubbock and its one of two or three things that I crave all the time but can't get here in the DFW area, until Tuesday when they opened the Lewisville location! I'm doing a happy dance!!!! Would you care to join me?
p-strawberry.jpg

Lin, I have been craving a snow cone. I had them all the time growing up (when I spent time in MD with my dad), but they don't have them in WV. :confused3 They have them EVERYWHERE in MD (seriously, when I worked in Baltimore I drove past four stands in less than 5 minutes).

I told Mike that he is driving me up to Frederick (about 45 min away) so I can get one. I have had almost every flavor (even chocolate with marshmellow fluff).

ENJOY!!!

On the TV issue: I got my own TV when I was 7. A little later, I got a phone in my room (not my own line though). The computer was in my room for a while, but then it was moved into the living room (when my brother was old enough to use it too). Same thing with video games.

OOoooooh, Lin... I just LOVE shaved ice! I get so excited when they have it at festivals and whatnot. I don't think we have any place around here that specifically serves shaved ice, but now I think I might try to find out! When I was pregnant with both girls, that's the only thing I really craved. Shaved ice was the best, but I'd settle for an italian ice, a slurpee or even a cup of frozen grape juice or frozen Sunny Delight.

I never had any of those things in my room growing up either. I used to get so mad at my parents, but of course that's because I was a teen and wanted to watch and do non-family-friendly things! Then I got a little older and I babysat for some of the most spoiled rotten kids I'd ever seen - two different families and both families gave their kids everything they wanted in their own rooms: tvs, computers, multiple video game consoles (these were the Atari/Commodore 64 days), phones, VCRs, laserdisc players (before DVDs for you youngsters)... you name it, they had it, starting at age TWO! I think it was more so the parents didn't have to see/deal with the kids than because they really needed those things. It's sad, really, that those kids had so much but their parents didn't seem to like being with them. I also babysat for another 2 families with just the sweetest kids you ever did see, and they didn't have those things in their rooms. I saw a connection right away. Kids just seem to appreciate things so much more when they don't have so much available to them 24/7.

ETA: I'm not saying that those of you here who had those things in your rooms are/were spoiled rotten, just sharing MY experience with what I saw in other families. To each their own, but my kids just don't need that stuff. I see too little of them as it is!!

No TV's in the kids rooms at my house either. No phones either.

We have 3 TVs in the house......1 in the Living Room, 1 in the Master Bedroom, and 1 in the upstairs gameroom. There is a telephone in the same exact 3 rooms.

And we have one computer and that is in the upstairs gameroom as well.

pozey: That's what we had when we were kids - a game room that was right off the living room. The room had sliding pocket doors, so even when they were closed there was not 100% privacy and my parents could easily tell if anything taboo was going on in there. We had a tv, the video game system du jour, and the family computer in there with a nice comfy old recliner, plus a closet full of board games. It worked out great!

Sure. ;)

I will admit, I was (and still am) a bit spoiled. However, I was completely grateful of what I did get and I did not act like an obnoxious brat (well, not all the time  ).

I completely understand why parents wouldn't want TV in the kids room; I'm still up in the air on what I would do.

Paging DznyFan.......Paging DznyFan.........

What theater are you going to see Pirates 3 at tonight?? I was just wondering because I looked online at the Cinemark at 71st and 169........

It's SOLD OUT. The midnight show is sold out as well.

Get there EARLY!!

Hi everyone!!!!

This morning I woke up and was suspicious because normally when Jeremiah leaves for work, Ruby comes scratching at the door to get into bed with me. Since she didn't I knew she was up to trouble and I come out into the living room and hear her in the kitchen making alot of noise...I go in there and she had knocked over the trash can and was eating the leftover popcorn we popped last night :rolleyes1  Needless to say she was very upset when I took that from her!

I have an appointment to get a retreatment of my root canal for next Thursday. It was the first available appointment and I was out of my antibotic that the doctor prescribed to me at my last appointment. Well it really helps with the pain in my tooth because I guess it kills the infection. So, I called the office and asked them if I could get a refill. The next day I called back because they never got back to me :rolleyes1 but I was very impressed because later on, the doctor himself called me to see if anything was wrong. I've grown up around doctors my whole life and as a whole I've never seen them do something like that! He was very considerate and was concerned with the long term side effects of the antibotic I was taking, but I haven't been experiencing any of those. I just thought that was very nice of him to do.

Except I am having another problem now! :rolleyes1 I'm having this weird thing happening with my left eye. It seems I can't read up close now because its blurry, and when I move my eye around sometimes it seems like there is something clouding my vision :confused3 Not blocking it because I can still see perfectly well, but maybe clouding it?? I can't describe it too well.I watch too many doctors shows and I'm convinced I have a brain tumor or something:rolleyes1 Does anybody know what that could be? I looked up symptoms of a strained eye but it doesn't seem to match....I'm not sure if I would go to my eyedoctor that gave me my eye exam or what:confused3

Lyzziesmom, That's so funny about Aerosmith with Lyzzie. I've always loved them too and I actually saw them in concert when I was in 5th grade;) Joe Perry was always my favorite. I actually deleted the whole finale though because I was so annoyed about not seeing the ending :rolleyes1 I rarely EVER watch things when they are actually on. I really can't think of a time when I do, unless its a basketball game! And it's funny because I ALWAYS record things with extra time but even if I had for the finale, I would have still missed it because I usually only go over about 5 minutes. I couldn't have done it anyway because 2 things were recording at 10 for me and my DVR can only record two at a time. Oh well!

I didn't have a TV in my room until I was 17. I bugged my parents about it all the time because they never wanted to watch what I did. When I finally got one, I was out with Jeremiah so often I never used it :rolleyes1
