Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 3

2x: first of all before I forget... your treatment schedule sounds grueling, but you will get through it! Before my DB went into remission, it seemed like he was at one Dr's office or another every day. Now it's only every week.

We are going to see Charlotte's Web tomorrow. I will have to remember to bring my Puffs Plus! (No scratchy ol' Kleenex for this tissue snob.) Glad to hear it's good. I hate to spend all that money at the movies and then not enjoy it.

I've never had a cosmo... perhaps I can stumble across a good one at WDW in Feb? Also haven't had a lapu lapu, although I think I like to say it!

Forgot the movie you went to pick up... sounds like something I would do! Lyzzie will occasionally ask me just how long "pregnancy brain" is supposed to last anyway. I tell her it's permanent.

Brave girl going to the mall! Traffic 'round here was nuts today, I figure it's all the last-minute shoppers. Took 25 minutes to get to mom's house and I was coming from Borders, which is 1/2 way there! (Usually takes 15-20 minutes from home.)

I made a killing at Borders today - saved $32.00 and only spent $6 - got a craft book for Lyzzie, a CD for the kids, and a book for Emma. I used my Rewards holiday dollars (5% of everything you spend all year) plus a personal discount of 10%, plus a coupon for 30% off one item. Gotta love deals like that!! I can't believe I left that store without buying a single thing for myself, I think it's a first! If you guys saw my house you'd understand. Books are two deep on my huge library bookcase, and more are stacked on every surface. I have read them all, most of them twice, and none of them are in any way shape or form "intellectual" books - pure fiction. It's my escape from the real world.

And now it's time for the Cliqueless Question of the Day (inspired by DonnaLeah):

What is your favorite adult beverage?

I am a sucker for a good raspberry daiquiri. Pretty much any froufrou drink is good in my book. I also really enjoy a toasted almond, but I must remember to stop at one because my tummy doesn't like them nearly as much as my tongue does.
I am just a beer kinda guy most of the time. I like Sam Adams a lot. I also enjoy vodka and grapefruit juice (or orange juice) on occasion. Rum and coke as well. Back in the day……my former brother-in-law had a band. They were the house band at a local bar. Well, the owner of the bar was a pretty good friend, and he would bring our table rattlesnake shots. :cool1: I’ve drank my share of those………but those days are LONG GONE!! :confused3

YM: Nice to see I'm not the only one who wants to strangle my kids while baking. I sent them both to bed at 7pm tonight, and they were happy to go!! The poor things are exhausted; Lyzzie from her sleepover and Emma because I kept her up late shopping last night and she did not sleep in this morning as planned.

We're on the same page. My oldest that I told to get on out of the kitchen took a bath and went to bed...he was asleep in 2 mintues. He was tired and cranky...we all sleep together last night. :teeth: My youngest is still hanging on my shoulder trying to read as I type. He's getting pretty good (1st grade). He ask my about Lyzzies and Emma's pictures again..."now tell me her name again mom". He drives me crazy when he sleeps in my bed...he can't stay on his pillows...there can not be an inch between us...he prefers a leg, arm, head...on top of me. :teeth:

Evenin' kids!

First order of business, QOD: My absolute fave is a Turtle Krawl - served at The Gurgling Suitcase at OKW - three different rums, orange juice, pineapple juice, key lime juice and grenadine. yum!! Second would be a Captain's and Coke or Captain's and Ginger Ale.

Angela - you're welcome!! :grouphug:

Been a busy day - went to the DH's company Christmas 'party', did some shopping to finish up the baskets we're doing for our friends. All of our friends are getting gift baskets with homemade stuff - we're putting in: the Orange spiced tea mix (from Lin- good stuff!!), the sugar scrub, some sugar cookies, orange dreamsicle cookies, gingerbread and peppermint bark; some homemade vension jerky, a bag of roasted/glazed nuts and I think that's it....

off for now - will catch up tomorrow maybe??

Nite, everyone!

pozey: What is in a rattlesnake shot? Sounds interesting. Back in the day, I had my share of zipperhead shots. I don't think I could do those anymore - I tend to stay away from any shots these days. Something about calling Ralph on the big white phone is just not as appealing as it used to be.

2x: I'm thinking "chiquito?" Then again, the last instruction I had in Espanol was in the 7th grade.... eons ago.

Hey everyone!!

Had a pretty nice day today. DW and Colton got up early today and went out and finished up the Christmas shopping. They left about 9:30 this morning and finished up around 1:00.

Then Courtney, Chase, and I went and met them for a late lunch at Ted's. After eating we went out to visit with my brother. He trains horses. His boss is a local television meteorologist. Very nice guy. His family is wonderful.

Anyway, after spending most of the afternoon out there, we had to make another stop at the mall for some small gifts for friends.

After leaving the mall, we were kinda hungry.......for dessert. So, we went to a place called Fox and Hound. Got some chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecakes to go. Came home and had dessert and watched the last 30 minutes or so of Elf.

What a beautiful day!!

YM: I was laughing out loud reading your post! My girls are all elbows & toenails when they sleep with me. Instead of cold feet, I happen to have a very cold, um... bottom and I will put it on them to chase them back into their own beds.

DznyFan: that Turtle Krawl sounds heavenly! I have never been to OKW but I might have to check it out sometime soon. Those gift baskets are great, what a fun idea!

I don't recall the exact ingredients, but I think it had Canadian Whisky, cherry brandy, and sweet and sour mix. It was very sweet, and you could just drink them and drink them and then BAM!

I have received serveral of the Christmas cards from the cliqueless crew.....

Now, I am very embarrassed.......

One......I haven't sent mine out yet.........

Two.......my cards are pretty plain cards......I couldn't find any Disney themed cards anywhere. :confused3

Please forgive me in advance.....

I promise to do MUCH better next year!! :guilty:

QOD----I'm a Cosmo girl through and through!!!!! But like just about anything. I had my first Lapu Lapu in October. yum. A drink around the monorail sounds heavenly to me!!!!!!
YM----does this mean you will sing the Pina Colada song with me since Jill went MIA??

Hi there 2xcited....what was that version you guys were singing...I didn't answer Ashley's QOD because I do a lot of country music...although I thought later that I could have recommended the Phantom of the Opera cd!

ok my version of the pina colada song:

Two Pina Coladas
Garth Brooks
(Sevens)

I was feelin' the blues
I was watching the news
When this fella came on the TV

He said I'm tellin' you
That science has proven
That heartaches are healed by the sea

That got me goin'
Without even knowin'
I packed right up and drove down

Now I'm on a roll
And I swear to my soul
Tonight I'm gonna paint this town

So bring me two pina coladas
One for each hand
Let's set sail with Captin Morgan
And never leave dry land

Troubles I forgot 'em
I buried 'em in the sand
So bring me two pina coladas
She said good-bye to her good timin' man

Oh now I've gotta say
That the wind and the waves
And the moon winkin' down at me

Eases my mind
By leavin' behind
The heartaches that love often brings

Now I've got a smile
That goes on for miles
With no inclination to roam

I've gotta say
That I think I've gotta stay
'Cause this is feelin' more and more like home

So bring me two pina coladas
One for each hand
Let's set sail with Captin Morgan
And never leave dry land

Troubles I forgot 'em
I buried 'em in the sand
So bring me two pina coladas
She said good-bye to her good timin' man

Whoa Nellies-----you guys are moving quick tonight!!!!

YM----come on sister, we're the same age----you must remember the one -hit -wonder of Rupert Holmes:

Escape (The Pina Colada Song)

(Rupert Holmes)

I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long.
Like a worn-out recording, of a favorite song.
So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed.
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read:

"If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
I'm the lady you've looked for, write to me, and escape."

I didn't think about my lady, I know that sounds kind of mean.
But me and my old lady, had fallen into the same old dull routine.
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad.
And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half-bad.

"Yes, I like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne.
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon, and cut through all this red tape.
At a bar called O'Malley's, where we'll plan our escape."

So I waited with high hopes, then she walked in the place.
I knew her smile in an instant, I knew the curve of her face.
It was my own lovely lady, and she said, "Oh, it's you."
And we laughed for a moment, and I said, "I never knew"..

"That you liked Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
And the feel of the ocean, and the taste of champagne.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape."

"If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half-a-brain.
If you like making love at midnight, in the dunes of the cape.
You're the love that I've looked for, come with me, and escape."
