Oh my gosh! I was asked to take pictures tonight at an event at the High School. There was a dinner, then a talent show. Of course in my opinion it could have been called talentless show. But that's just me.:rolleyes1

I will never understand some parents tho. Invariably at every talent show I have seen there is one little girl singing a song from Grease. Now I like the songs but have none of these parents listened to the lyrics of these songs!!!

Tonight this darling little 6th grade girl sang There Are Worse Things I Could Do while her parents just beamed.

Check out these lyrics and tell me if I am over-reacting. By the way, this show was filmed for the local/school cable channel and will be played over and over again.

There are worse things I could do,
than go with a boy or two
Even though the neighborhood thinks
I'm trashy and no good I suppose it could be true,
but there are worse things I could do I could flirt
with all the guys, smile at them and bat my eyes.
Press against them when we dance,
make them think they stand a chance
and then refuse to see it through,
that's the thing I'd never do
. I can stay home every night
Wait around for Mr. Right, take cold showers everyday,
and throw my life away, on a dream that won't come true
I could hurt someone like me, out of spite or jealousy,
I don't steal and I don't lie, but I can feel and I cry
In fact I'll bet you never knew, but to cry in front of you,
that's the worse thing I could do.

I guess I'm just getting old!!

No, Michelle, you are totally in the right here! My high school woudn't even allow us to do Grease for our musical due to the not-so-subtle sexual content.

Sorry - had a doh! moment about the DING! Great Idea - in fact, my computer just dinged - now if I could just find that rascal desktop icon that seems to have disappeared....

DznyFan...I forgot to thank you for the pancakes...where are my manners.:rolleyes1 BTW...my DH has been telling me for years that I'm not always "cyrstal clear".:rotfl:

I started thinking about the Ding commercial where the actress tosses the wedding cake to go check a "ding".:rotfl2:

Lin....Dallas is a fairly easy drive( about 4hrs)...at least until you hit 75 in Dallas. We travel through Dallas every couple of years on our way to San Antonio. Austin can actually be worse than Dallas if you time it right.:sad2:

Good evening, Crew!!! Whew!!! Darned internet problems today!!! It seems that the main connection had come loose and DH had to solder it back together!!!:lmao: This internet company is such a JOKE!!!

Anyway, I saw DznyFan stepped in and prepared a sumptious breakfast!!! Thanks, btw!!!

Lesa~Lesa::: I just totally ignored the posting about your having 2nd thoughts about our trip. I loved YM's finger in the ear smilie....I was even thinking at work " wow, I wished I could have found a finger in the ears smilie for Lesa!!" I know, I'm nuts!!:rolleyes1

Ashley:: I'm so sorry for poor little Ruby. Her bandaged paw and sweet little pug face just melted my heart. I don't blame you one bit for being scared for her!!

Michele:: Hot little 6th grader, huh??? That reminds me of the part in Dickie Roberts where the little girl comes out to audition and crawls around the floor........never mind, you've probably had the good sense never to have watched that movie!!!

Linda and April:: Yippee!!! So you are going to get to WDW first and warn them we're coming, right!!!:dance3: :dance3: One week from tomorrow and I'll be on my way!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Sewer:: I'm sorry your tummy was rumbling this morning. I tried for 30 minutes to connect to the internet before I finally just gave up.:sad1:

2x2s:: I'm sorry you couldn't sleep and that the ear isn't any better.

Well, I'll post this now before it gets too long.:upsidedow

Good Morning!!

Well I guess our trip is official for me...I had my nightmare about it last night:scared1:

My mom was driving me to the airport and for some reason we were just stopping places on the way:confused3 Which is really weird since my flight leaves at 6:40 AM, I don't know where we would go at 4 in the morning!! We get there and not only is it 2 HOURS! past my flight time, but I left my ticket at home. Because I used Blake's FF miles I had to wait for him to get to the airport to get me on another flight. And he thought since it was my fault he wouldn't hurry!! I had also forgotten the paper with everyone's cell numbers so I couldn't call anyone.

It was terrible.

Well everyone else have a great day. Cause it's only ONE WEEK NOW !!!!

:banana: :cool1: :dance3: :yay::cheer2: :cool1: :banana: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

Good morning, Crew!!! Michele has me daydreaming about our trip....I MUST FOCUS!!!!
How about a blast from my past for breakfast this morning?? When I was a kid, our local bakery used to make the best creme horns!!! MY sister would eat all the creme out of the middle and just leave the shell. Please help yourself to a WHOLE creme horn!!!

I hope everyone has a Funtastic Friday!!!!

I sitting here in northeast Ohio freezing my charones off! :sad1:, so here's what I'd like you to do for me. Take a Tupperware container with you on your trip, and when you get to the resort open it up hold it up to the sun, and quickly put the lid back on. Then take it to the post office, and mail it to me, so I can bask in the sunlight when I receive it! :goodvibes

Good Morning everyone!

And so begins my sons birthday weekend. Today, I'm meeting him for lunch at school and bringing him Sonic popcorn chicken and cupcakes for the whole class. Tomorrow's the big party, and Sunday is his actual b-day. My in-laws are coming in today so I have a few little cleaning things I need to get done and I need to make the cupcakes. :scared: Not stressing though ;)

ok, let's all find a happy place. How about here:

uuuuuhhhhhhh.....so are you saying I don't have good sense??? 'Cause I was just about to post the same thing. The part of the Dickie Roberts movie where the little girl does the dance routine. :rotfl2:

But then.......I've never been accused of having a lot of sense.

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Michele- Yeah, I think that song is too grown up for a middle schooler.

YM- 17.50 a bag???

Linda- Poor Kenny. :grouphug:

Happy birthday Keagan!!!!!

ONE WEEK!!!!

Sometimes I will pack my DH leftovers from dinner and I'll let it cool for a little while. I never seem to push the containers far enough back on the cabinet...she helps herself occasionally. :rolleyes1 I

Miss Donna...you know how we worry when we don't see you on...I know...you are under a lot of pressure around here.;)
You are certainly having a time with Sophie, aren't you? Oh, pets can be SO expensive...
I had to laugh at your story about her 'helping herself' - I have the same problem sometimes. Mine ate a whole plate of cream puffs I'd made, and just filled. It's a wonder he wasn't sick as a dog (pun intended) the rest of the day.

Not only do we expect Donna to feed us every day, but she also has to keep up with the pressure of being the top poster in this group! :rotfl:

So, all you Okies, how far are you from the Dallas area out of curiosity?
4 hours, or a 1 hour flight.

I will never understand some parents tho. Invariably at every talent show I have seen there is one little girl singing a song from Grease. Now I like the songs but have none of these parents listened to the lyrics of these songs!!!

You're not just getting old. Grease is a great show, but some of the songs (that one particularly) are not for the younger crowd to perform!! Geez - a song about promiscuity as sung by a 6th grader - yeah, that's something for a parent to be proud of!!!

You're welcome!! Funny about being 'crystal clear' - I laughed.... DD does the same thing - "Mom, I need to get that thing" or "Mom did you see that (non specific)?" or "Mom, I really like those things - you know?" NO I don't know.... I'm not a psychic! :rotfl: She kills me.
The ding commercials! I'm the one at the office - with the employees jumping over cubicle walls (except I'm not in a cube).

Anyway, I saw DznyFan stepped in and prepared a sumptious breakfast!!! Thanks, btw!!!
You're welcome. The natives were restless - I figured somebody needed to intervene. Thanks for the creme horns... yum!

Hi, everybody!! :wave2:

I think I'm close to having a migraine.:sad2: I don't get them very often but it's been pretty bad all day.:headache: :headache: I know there are several on here that get them. What do you guys take? Obviously I'm still at the funtional stage because I can read and type(you guys are used to my typing). Mine actually started last night...couldn't sleep worth a hoot. I even had to turn the TV off early. I have the bad habit of having the tv on while falling alseep. I do have a medication called fioricet but it's more for tension headaches.

I used to take fioricet for my migraines, it actually worked pretty good. If I remember right, it is a combination of Tylenol, a narcotic pain med, and caffeine.

I started thinking about the Ding commercial where the actress tosses the wedding cake to go check a "ding".:rotfl2:

I haven't seen this commercial, but it sounds pretty funny! When I hear that "ding" I pretty much drop what I'm doing to go see what it is - sadly it's almost never what I need.

Michele: Welcome to the Disneymares Club!

Donna: I have never heard of those Creme Horns before, but they look delish! I'll take 3.

Gotta do a little bit of *gasp!* work, I'll be baaaaaack!!
