Oh you poor thing Michele! That sounds like a harrowing trip to/from the airport. Glad the luggage finally made it, that would have been such an awful thing to lose! I had a similarly bad trip once picking up my parents from the Miami airport, it was raining with hurricane force winds, my car window leaked, and they neglected to tell me that international was on the opposite side of the airport. That was at least 11 years ago, and it's the last time I've picked anyone up from the airport. I'm glad you all made it back safe & sound! I would have been too scared to ask a homeless guy for directions!

I had a bit of a scare this evening, we were waiting for DBF to arrive so we could go to dinner. The doorbell rang and I yelled for Lyzzie to answer it. She didn't want to and I was getting a little mad, because I had to drop what I was doing to get the door. Lucky thing I did, because it was a stranger at the door! Some guy said his credit card was declined at the gas pump and he was begging for money to get home. I felt kind of bad telling him no but it was true that I don't carry cash, and also how do I know he was telling the truth? He could have easily waited until I turned around to get some money, and then barged into the house and turned out to be a homicidal maniac. It seemed weird that the guy wouldn't have anyone to call, and instead was going door to door asking for cash. I hope I did the right thing.

Lin: I have such a hard time Christmas shopping too. I never know what anyone wants unless they tell me! I usually only think about the kids, and then a couple weeks before Christmas I remember, Oh yeah... I have other people to buy for too! I have no idea what to get my parents this year, they always say they don't want anything. Last year my dad gave my present back & told me to return it and keep the money as a gift to me!

Donna: is this your first time seeing POTC2? I liked it a lot! I'm hoping someone buys it for Lyzzie for Christmas, because I don't buy too many movies. That one is too scary for Emma so it would be hard to find the time to watch it.

I'm hoping to turn in early tonight, I have been having such a hard time dragging myself out of bed lately!

Hi to all the cliqueless crew.

I had to go pick up my DS from school this a.m. less than an hour after it started. He had an earache. He's been going all weekend out in the snow having fun so I was giving him a bit of the.... I went ahead and took him to the DR who did a sinus x-ray. I really don't think he completely got over the the one he had in November. We also talked about the hives and the antibiotics. He's getting allergy shots now so I'm hoping in a couple more months we are much improved with the allergies.

Lin...hugs to you...I'm sorry you are having a rough time with your job. Hope everything works out for the best.

lyzziesmom...wow, that's scary about the stranger. I think you did the right thing.

Nicole...good luck with your cake decorating class!

Donna...I'm glad Nathan is improved. Thanks for the donuts.

DznyFan and Pozey...so much for suprises!

Yolanda...what a stressful meeting. :grouphug: Hope all goes well with no repeat incidences.

2x...Did your treatment and work go well today? :goodvibes

Hey Linda... You need some free time to go get pirates...eek with all the work!

Ok, crew, I haven't seen either pirate movie :duck: ...so I think we might get the set!

MIchele...my goodness, I was getting nervous just reading your about your trip home from the airport. Glad you made it home safely :grouphug: Does Blake get to stay home for a while?

Good night everyone. :wave2: :cloud9:

Hi!! We didn't make it all the way through the POTC2 movie. It was getting to late and Nathan had to get to bed.

lyzziesmom:: Yes, this is the first time I've seen POTC2. Never did make it to the movies to watch it.
Oh my, how scary about the stranger at the door. You did the right thing by sending him away. You have to be careful these days, you never know what may happen.

YourMajesty:: I hope your DS gets to feeling better soon! :goodvibes

Michele:: So glad to hear Blake made it home! The trip back from the airport sounded pretty scary!! At least Blake was with you and made it home safely!! That would have been awful if the luggage had been permanately lost...glad it turned up!!

Lin:: Sounds like your DH is as hard to buy for as mine is. I'm afraid he's going to get clothes from me for Christmas, he hates to shop for himself.
Whew!! Close call on the Amazon.com order!!!

DznyFan:: Too bad your surprise for DH was spoiled. At least he will know what a great present you are getting him and he'll find something really nice for you, too! ;)

April:: Next week you'll be in WDW again!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
And...........Happy 9th Anniversary!!!
unbranded-happy-anniversary-foil-balloon.jpg

2x2s:: I hope you caught up on your rest a little bit!! Sometimes our bodies seem to say " I'm pooped here, get some rest!!!" :cloud9:
I hope your treatments and work went ok today. :goodvibes

Yolanda:: Sorry your meeting with the principal was such a let down. Hopefully there won't be a repeat incident. Good to know the Sub won't be returning to school.

Amber:: Yippee!!! You were able to make your dining reservations!!! :woohoo: Hey!! Wait a minute!!! Didn't you just get back?? :rolleyes1
Hope you and Mike get to feeling better. :goodvibes

Nicole:: Your cake decorating class sounds like fun!! You may have to send us some samples!!! :thumbsup2

Angela:: Hi, stranger!!! :wave2: Hope your internet stays up and running!! I am totally lost when our goes down!! :teeth:

pozey:: Hi!! I bought POT2 today!!! :thumbsup2
That's too funny that Mrs. Pozey couldn't keep the boys' Christmas presents a secret!! It's good that Colton can keep a secret, though. :teeth:

Well, it's getting late. Had better turn in for the night!! See you all at breakfast!!

Good morning everyone!!!! I can't believe I was the last one to post last night! Hope you all had a restful night. I thought we might enjoy these Cherry Danish I picked up at the bakery early this morning!! :sunny:

Yep, and I need to go back. ;)

It's already turning into an ordeal though. We decided to invite Mike's family and we told them I needed to know their plans by Monday evening. They didn't call, so I made the ADR's yesterday for just Mike, my brother, and myself. This morning I get an email from his sister saying that she wants to come and pay for his parents for a few days. Oh, and she knows some guy that goes to Orlando every year knows the "inside track" and I should listen to him. I am positive he doesn't know anything more than the DIS :thumbsup2 I am glad they are probably going to come, but I am worried that if I can't get ADRs to include them, they will be upset not eating with us (Mike doesn't want to give up eating at Le Cellier; it's his 2nd favorite after 'Ohana). I sound bad don't I?

Michele, that sounds like a horrible ordeal, but at least you got the suitcase!

Lin, good luck shopping for Chris. Mike likes video games and movies, so I always have something I can get him. I refuse to buy him clothes though, because everything has to be a certain way.

Lyzziesmom, you did the right thing by not giving him money. You can't be too careful.

pozey, Mike is just like your DW. He ends up giving me my presents before the holiday. He can't wait. I also give him presents beforehand, but it's because he HAS TO HAVE THEM. He just can't wait.

 to everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for the kind words about my sons school situation. We've never had a problem before this year and it has to do with one child in particular. This is the first year they have been in class together. Oh well, on the bright side we're off track until January 3rd so some space may help. :)

Donna-- Thanks again for breakfast! Glad Nathan is feeling better!

DznyFan-- My husband has discovered more "surpises" than I care to count. It's sort of a challenge for me now, to see if I can keep the surprise a surprise until Christmas. It's my mission and I chose to accept it :smooth:

Michele-- Yeah Blake's home  Glad he got home safe and the luggage arrived finally. When my husband traveled a lot for work we had problems with lost luggage. We finally had "spare items" like electric razors and such that he took on trips and kept the originals at home just in case.
My guess is that Matt's team will improve as they continue to play together. It's hard to make the team work until you've played together for a little while.

YM-- hope your son feels better!

Amber-- Adding family to your trip can be fun, but also frustrating. Just remember it's about enjoying time together. I know you will have a great time!

Nicole-- Your class sounds like so much fun! :artist: What a great way to learn something new and be creative!

Pozey-- The whole can't keep the surprise thing sounds just like my mom! She's already let my son open one of his Christmas presents  What do you do, it's grandma .

Lyzziesmom- I think your instincts were right on about the creepy guy at the door. That's just bizarre.

Well, have a great day everyone! I wish you a Merry Christmas, I wish you a Merry Christmas...... :rolleyes1

Morning, all!

Michele - that's one rough night you and Blake had! All in all, I guess things were OK, since you made it home (finally) and his luggage showed up (finally), but not before you had enough stress to last you a long time! Better luck to Matt and the team for next BB game!

Lyzziesmom - eewwww.... the mama bear in me doesn't trust anybody with a story like that - luckily it was you who went to the door. I think you definitely did the right thing.

Lin - isn't shopping for DHs the pits? Mine's hard to buy for too. He's really happy about this year, though! Hang in there, you'll find something!

Yolanda - space is good! I guess you're planning on keeping a close eye on things in the future, huh?

Have a great day, everybody - check ya later! :wave2:

Good Morning!

Thanks for the danish Donna!

Dznyfan- I bet your DH is happy about this year's present! ;) Too bad the surprise was spoiled though.

Lyzziesmom- How scary! I think you did the right thing.

Michele- I'm glad you and DH made it home safely and they found his luggage. What an adventure!

Pozey- I am just like your DW! I have to tell people what their gifts are! Last weekend I went shopping for my mom's gift and wanted to give it to her right after I got it! But I didn't. I do tell people what I get them though. I don't tell them exactly what, I give them an idea of what it is.

YM- I hope your ds gets better soon!

OMG!! You wouldn't have believed how yesterday went!!!

I left home around 3 to pick Blake up from the airport. Took about 45 minutes to get there, it started snowing and blowing. It was really scary for a while. I get there, miss the turn for short-term parking and have to circle the airport. Blake calls and says he has landed but they had a medical emergency on board and they have to wait for EMS to off-load the gentleman and his family first. I find my way, get to baggage claim and wait for him. He finally shows up!!  And we wait for his luggage, and we wait and wait. 45 minutes later we come to the realization that there is no luggage :furious: Yep, they lost his luggage. The luggage that has the souveniers and Christmas presents for the kids that he bought in Australia and can't be duplicated. So we get on the road at 5. We pull in the driveway at 8pm. It took us 3 hours to get home!!! I-94 didn't get over 5 miles an hour. At about the 2 hour mark we saw the exit ramp for a road we could take home and figured we'd get off the freeway. Well we got off and immediately proceeded to get lost. We were driving around the not so great streets of downtown Detroit, at night, in the snow! Not a fun thing to do! We kept circling and didn't even know what direction we were headed. It got so bad we stopped and asked directions from a homeless guy :rolleyes1 He got us back to the road we needed; which was going a whopping 10 miles an hour! Matt called to ask if we were driving back from Australia!! :lmao:

The good news...his luggage was delivered to the house this afternoon  The kids were excited!

Matt had his first basketball game this afternoon. They lost 40-32. It was their first game playing together. Hopefully they will get better. Matt did well, tho.

Thanks for the new Christmas Card list.

Have a great night everyone!

Sorry you had a crazy trip from the airport! Good to hear that the luggage arrived safely though!! :thumbsup2 Luckily, I have never had any luggage lost or arrive late. (knock on wood)

Tell Matt to keep working hard. He and his team will improve and start winning some games.

That is just weird. Why would someone go to someone's house to ask for money for gas?

If my DW is at home at night while I am not there, she won't answer the door at all. One night while me and the boys were at swim team practice, someone rang the doorbell, and she didn't answer. Then she calls me and tells me. Turns out, it was our neighbor's daughter - who sometimes babysits - and she was just delivering cookie dough that we ordered from her.

Donna.......thanks for the cherry danish!! Excellent as usual!

We also only made it through about half of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 last night. The kids have a 9 o'clock bedtime, so we still have quite a bit of the movie left to go.

Yummm! I've been in a pastry kind of mood lately! Thanks Donna...I didn't even use a fork. :teeth:

Amber...just waiting for some vacation pics! :Pinkbounc

DS made it to school today. He's pretty tough although he's on prednisone for 5 days so that will give him a boost. I'm praying the anitbiotic agrees with him.

Hello to all... Nicole, Angela, Yolanda, Linda, DznyFan, 2xcited, Lin, Pozey, Ashley (is that computer coming back early?), Michele, Lesa, lyzziesmom, April...hey anyone heard from precious pixie?

Hi Kiddies!!!

I'm a bit behind, but I have got a lot accomplished. I wrapped most of my presents! :cool1: Did most of my shopping! :cool1: (except for my hard to buy for husband, who I have no idea what to get! :confused3 ) Organized some of the basement! :thumbsup2 Cleaned most of the house! :cool1:

Thanks for the danish this morning Donna, but I'm going to have to pass. I'm trying to lose a few pounds from eating 42lbs of turkey! ;) :teeth: And no, I didn't gain 42lbs!

Lizziesmom....I will pm you with my email.

I hope everyone is well! Hugs to those who are not, or just are in need of a hug! :grouphug: I don't have much time to catch up, so if I missed something I'm sure someone will catch me up. :)

I need some gift ideas for dh, please! Pozey? He does not need clothes, electronics, tools, socks or underwear (he got those for his birthday :lmao: ). So please help me out or he will have to unwrap an empty box for Christmas. Oh I did pick him up a jar of macadamia nuts for his stocking! :thumbsup2

Has anyone seen the cute jewelry they have on disneyshopping.com? There is a necklace and bracelet that is made to look like the ones from Tiffany's, but it is a Mickey head and you can have initials put on one side, and on the other side it says If found please return to Disney, California 1923. The necklace is $39.95 and the bracelet is $29.95.

Well I've got to run before I end up on here the rest of the day and not finish up what I have started. Before I go, I have some cute quick ornament crafts for those that have so much extra time on their hands. They are very easy for kids to do too! I'll try to post pictures later.
I bought some of those cheap glass balls in different colors and I have some paint pens. The kids and I drew the 3 little circles to make a Mickey head all over it. They turned out so cute! We also took some clear balls and I got some Mickey rubons at Michael's. We rubbed a Mickey on each ball. Then we did the Mickey heads with the paint pens and on the backs we put the year. We also filled the inside with glitter, shredded paper, and strips of paper that we wrapped around a pencil to make it curly. Any way, I just thought I would share. Every year we make ornaments and hang them on the tree. My tree has a lot of store bought ornaments, but I think mostly the kids and I made them. Those are my favorite.

O.k. Got to run!! Have a great day everyone!

ETA: Sorry if I rambled on a bit! I had a little too much java this morning! :hyper:

Amber, those pictures are great! I can't believe Tomorrowland was so empty... in fact all of the pics look like you were the only people there! Don't you love that? On our last trip in Sept. with my family, my dad kept laughing all morning at MGM because we were the ONLY people on the Streets of America... we rode Star Tours by ourselves. It was a little bit creepy!

I am actually busy at work today, learning a bunch of new stuff so I only had a minute to check in. Lesa, I sent you the new list.
