Darn, lost my post. Recap:

Updated Xmas card list, sent out. If you did not get it, I do not have your email. PM me with your email: Lesa, Amber, Angela, Lin, and Yolanda. Everyone else should get the list.

Hit a wrong DIS button and discovered I average 6.91 posts per day! Was going to use that as the QOD but decided it is stupid. So...

Cliqueless Question of the Day:

What is the stupidest (clean) joke you know?

Here is mine:

Q: What is brown and sticky?

A: A stick.

I got the email but not the updated list.

I don't know any jokes! I am such a horrible joke teller anyways!

Here's my stupidest joke.....

Q: "What's the difference between an elephant and a grape?"
A: A grape is green.

Q: "What did Tarzan say when he saw a heard of elephants coming over the hill?"
A: Here come the grapes!! (He was color-blind) :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

pozey, your joke reminds me of my other stupidest joke:

- Ask me if I'm a truck.
- Are you a truck?
- Yes. Now ask me if I'm an orange.
- Are you an orange?
- Nooooo, I'm a truck. (said with a very "duh" attitude)

Awww check this out!

https://www.pushacall.com/mickey/

how cool! I would love this but right now Kenny is scheduled to be w/his dad on Christmas day :guilty:

have to think about a bad joke...

why did the chicken cross the road :confused3 oh sorry you've probably heard that one :teeth:

thanks for the new list lyzziesmom :cheer2:

Lin..enjoy your day off tomorrow shopping :woohoo:

just a quick check in before I have to run out the door again----but, will be back later.

NICOLE!!!!!!

I went into a Hallmark store and found the CUTEST ever little tiny Tink ornament!!!!!

I thought of you and of course had to buy one for me, my mom and my niece. She only stands about an inch to an inch and a half tall and is sitting on her thimble with her arms crossed. The name is "Precocious Tink". She is just about the cutest thing you ever did see!!!!

I think I can post a link.

http://www.hallmark.com/webapp/wcs/...lCategories=8&sortBySelect=&categoryId=125590

I just thought maybe you would like her too. I know the site says they are out of stock right now, but maybe you have a Hallmark in your area.

I am just too thrilled about this!!!!

Gotta run--be back later.

oh great, bad jokes----

I can't tell a joke to save my life---you all remember my orange/banana knock knock joke fiasco, right??

I'll have to ponder this one. :rolleyes1 :teeth:

oh man, Linda-----what a wonderful idea but sucks that Kenny will not be home. They should have an alternate date. Hmmmm, maybe someone here can put on their best "Mickey" voice. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
or maybe hit the recorder when they call and save it for him. Do they charge for this service??

I'm still running............... :moped: :moped: ......out the door.

Hi, everyone!! Just finished reading the daily posts. :wave2:

Nathan stayed home fom school today; has a head cold and is stuffy.

My Sister called this morning before I left for work to tell me her DH called to tell her our mail box had fallen over!!! It was tossed across the ditch, I have my suspicions that the paper carrier ran over it. Not for sure on that, though. :confused3

Better go find something for supper. :rolleyes1 Have a good evening!

2x...yeah, I was thinking of recording it too. That has to be so cute. I wonder what he'll say. :cloud9: Too cute. Best of all..it's free! I showed my boss and he says...yeah, we already signed up for that the other day at wdw.
Tink IS too cute!!

Donna...awwww Hope Nathan starts feeling better soon. Mike has the same thing. Too bad your mailbox got hit!!!

hearing my boss talk about wdw all day.... I can't take it... I'm ready for Feb!!!

Ok, dinner is over and I'm back and ready to chat.

Michele:: Hopefully Blake is safely on the ground and home by now!!
Hope you had a good day and will have an even better night!! ;)

2x2s:: Did you get some major shopping done? How were the crowds? Probably not as bad as they were yesterday!

DznyFan:: I know the Christmas program tonight will be terrific!!! You must be so proud of your talented daughter!! Have fun this evening. Nathan's Christmas program is Friday night. The younger kids are always so darned cute!!
ps....Hope that ice melts really soon!! :goodvibes

lyzziesmom;; Thanks for getting the revised Christmas card list to us!! I really appreciate all the work you and Ashley have done. :goodvibes
You don't like blueberries, either? No eggs, nuts or blueberries...gotcha!!!
Yippee!!! You got the Nutcracker tickets. I would love to attend a performance.

Cliqueless Question of the Day:

What is the stupidest (clean) joke you know?
Here goes...It's really stupid and bad!!!

Sarah Jessica Parker walks into a bar

and the bartender says.......

"Why the long face?"

That's it folks...sorry. :bitelip:

Donna, your joke actually made me laugh!! So sue me, I have a stupid sense of humor. That's awful about your mailbox! I wonder how it can fall over and land across the ditch?

Just finished watching Heroes and I can't believe they are making me wait until JAN 22ND to see more! I am so addicted to this darn show.

Went to Michael's today to buy a Xmas stamp and came out of there with a new toy - a heat gun and a jar of embossing powder. My entire dining room is now coated in a thin layer of sparkle (not to mention my pajamas, face and hair). Be prepared for some strange Xmas cards, as I am still experimenting!!

I took the kids out to my favorite Chinese restaurant tonight, and Emma tried some baby corn. I'm guessing she liked it, because when it was "cookie time" she opened her cookie, studied her fortune very carefully, and then told me in all seriousness, "It says right here 'baby corn.'" How funny is she?!? I think I forgot to tell you guys, last time we were there I got the best fortune ever - it said "Do not eat your fortune." Seriously! I even took a picture with my phone, but it's very blurry. (Ok so I'm a dork. An easily entertained dork, no less.)

OMG I hate the news. I just accidentally overheard a teaser for the 10pm news, they said, "Just when you think you've seen it all, a two-month old baby shows up at this hospital.... drunk." This is why I record everything and skip the commercials. And never ever watch the news.

Linda, I'm going to try the Mickey phone call! I saw this the other day, but I was at work and did not have my reservation number. I think it said it will try three times, and then leave a message if nobody answers the third time. Maybe you can just not answer the phone until you get your message to play for Kenny?

YM - I see your kids are still out. Getting cabin fever yet?

Ooooh - gotta go - my word my tenants are gripey this morning!!!

:wave2: EVERYBODY!

Hey DznyFan...did everyone make it home safe and sound? I heard one of the main reasons they did not have school in Owasso was due to the school parking lots. They were unable to get them ready? I had to work today (Monday is not a regular work day for me). I had to get to kids to Grandm's house and had horrible traffic problems on 169....and I didn't even try to get on it until after 8am. My DS was so upset tonight because he saw his friends out here in Owasso sledding on the news....couldn't believe he missed the chance to be on "TV". I told him I would have been hiding behind a snow drift if I saw a camera near by.

Yolanda...I hope all went well with the meeting. That is serious business. I'm glad your DS was not hurt badly. :grouphug:

lyzziesmom...thanks for the list update. Lots of luck with DBF. :cheer2:

Donna thanks for the muffins and panckes....I'm a little behind.

2x...sounds like the party was a hit. :dance3: My sister's real birthday was today.

Hi Lin, Pozey, Amber, Nicole, Ashley, Michele, Angela, Lesa, April, Linda....hope everyone had a nice Monday.

When's the best time to go to the dentist?

At tooth-hurty.... :teeth:

Anyone remember that joke from the Disney channel? It was when DS (9) was around 2-3 years old!

Ugh, what a day! Do you guys mind if I vent for a bit? If you do then just skip my post.

I am so very tired of my job. I know I say that I love my job, and that is partly true. But what I don't like the direction this company is taking the stores. There is never enough time to get things done like they need to be and I am apparently the only one who realizes the sheer importance of getting certain things done on time. I'm one of three assistants and our store management team has the absolute worst communication between each other. I am the uber communicator. I send emails, I leave notes, I read and sign all communications from home base, I check the calender daily. Yet I am told that I over communicate. But, at least I let people know when there is a something going on. No one else ever tells anyone anything. At any given time I can say that 3 of 5 of us know something. I can't remember a time that all 5 of us where aware of what was going on. Its driving me crazy.

I told you guys yesterday that my boss was letting me take my Holiday yesterday, right? Well, no. I'm now in trouble because she says that I asked her if I could switch with another manager, not have the day off. This is total bull. I specifically asked to not work since it was the 6th day in a row, I was scheduled for another one and I couldn't do 7 days in a row with 4 nights closing in a row, all weekend. She even told me to make sure another person could work 12-4 to cover those hours. Today she says I manipulated her and lied to her and never admit when I am wrong. I'm freaking angry. I will happily admit that I am not perfect, and that I have made mistakes, but I will not admit to being the only party that misunderstood something. She refuses to admit that she either misheard or misunderstood me.

I am just so tired of all the policies and procedures and changes. I miss TDS back when I started, when it was about the guest and the experience, not about the corporation. I miss it being about happiness and friendship. We are now not allowed to hang out with coworkers, we aren't supposed to socialize, we aren't supposed to talk. It is so cold and unwelcoming. They wonder why we have such a horrible retention rate... I am 1 of 2 managers that the employees feel comfortable speaking with and to me that is very, very sad.

I'm so ready for a change. I really want to get out of retail but I am not qualified to do anything else but retail. I am about to reach a breaking point and it isn't going to be pretty when I do. I came close to walking out today. And I have been having days like that more and more. I don't feel respected or valued and I ask myself why I stay. I can't find an answer besides that I don't have a back up option. I feel utterly and completely trapped.

Thanks for letting me vent, hope everyone had a better day than I did.

Good morning Cliqueless Crew!!! I think we need a good old comforting donut this morning!! Whatyathink?? :goodvibes

I think I may have to check out the Hallmark store today!!! She is sooo cute!!! DH thinks Tink is THE WOMAN!!! :rolleyes1

YourMajesty:: Believe it or not.....I DO remember that joke!!! I used to love it when they would have shows live from Disneyworld!!! Oh......those were the days! :goodvibes
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sorry......I'm cracking up getting a mental picture of you hiding behind a snowdrift!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yolanda:: How did the meeting with the principal go yesterday? I hope things got resolved.

Lin:: :grouphug: :grouphug: Hugs to you for the way you are feeling about your job. I can't believe that Corporate has taken something as fun as The Disney Store and sucked all the fun right out of it!! One of the things I always loved about TDS was how upbeat and fun-loving most of the employees were!!! They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs.
Sounds to me like the problems with your particular store stem from poor upper mgmt!!

Don't sell yourself short, Lin!! I'm crossing my fingers (and toes) that you will hear something from WDW very soon!!!

I woke up during the night thinking I must have forgotten to set the alarm...it was getting daylight out!!! It was only 3:30am!!! Terrific!!!! I got to sleep an extra 2 hours!!!

Well, time is flying by this morning...must go!!!! :moped:

I hope everyone has a Totally Terrific Tuesday!!!! :thumbsup2
Thanks, Donna! These are just what I need this morning. I'm running, running, running! Trying to get my clothes ironed and packed for Disney, trying to secure a place to have the cat kennled. We've already got a place for the dog. I need to hit the bank and some stores and as you can see, next week at this time I'll be do all last minute things and be on my way to Disney!

I didn't get home until late last night so I couldn't check in.

Lyzziesmom:: Thanks for the list. My cards are going out tomorrow.

Lin:: Don't be hard on yourself. I can see from your tiny list of what you do now that you could slip into something else. I've worked administrative assistance/receptionist/retail fpr 3 years/front office. So much is transferable!! The BEST book I ever bought was called Proven Resumes Strategies that Have Increased Salaries and Changed Lives by Regina Pontow. Follow the link and it will take you to Amazon. I bought it to help me learn how to do a resume, it was SO much more. I really can't recommend it high enough!! It's not hard to do and she writes in an easy to understand format. It's like a workbook. I know, I keep going on and on but truly it can help you make the change. I've gone for several jobs through the years and I truly accredit the work I did in this book and the resume that I made that helped me get them. After all, you need customer service, EXCELLENT communication (which it sounds like you have), handling money (not everyone can do this :thumbsup2 ), dealing with vendors or (a transferable word-- outside clients) knowing the product and the company you work for these are all transferable skills that you would need in a doctors office dealing with patients and payments and insurance companies and drug reps and pharmacies. In a newspaper office dealing with customers and their subscriptions and payments, paper vendors and ink distributors. These are just a few examples. Please, don't sell yourself short!! If you want to make a change, you can do it!! Let me know if I can help in any way. If I lived closer I'd let you borrow my copy of the book. Hang in there. :grouphug:

Well, I've got to get running (I said that already didn't I? :rotfl: ) Today is my 9th Anniversary of wedded bliss!!
Don't know what we're doing yet. Probably just go out to dinner tonight.

Oh, and it's also Walt Disney's birthday. DH, declares I planned our wedding to fall on Walt's birthday but I can assure you I didn't. Honest Engine. Well, really, I'm signing off. Over and Out!

Busted April-----your green light is still on.
Get to work, chickie!!!

and, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:

Wow, I fell asleep last night at 8:30 and slept through the night!!! I can't tell you the last time that has happened. I should feel really rested today, huh??

I can't stay long today---treatment/work day, but I will catch up tonight, hopefully.

But, I just wanted to say first:

Donna---thanks for the yummy donuts. Chocolate milk actually sounds really good right now with one.

And----

Lin-- :grouphug: :grouphug:
I know exactly what you mean when a job/career is steered in a completely different direction as you first expected and have loved. I think I have mentioned that I have been in the spa business for over nine years and within the last two years (really cracking down the last year), it has turned into this "add-on tons of service, let's make more money, outrageous goal" company. It's really sad when I worry about making my goals in order to keep my job rather than servicing a client with what they want.
I wish you the best of luck in your decision. And, how dare she accuse you of being manipulative!!! :furious:

gotta run----I'm late.

I'll try to catch up later.

Have a good day all!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Good morning everyone!

Donna-- Hope Nathan feels better soon! After the day I had yesterday, I'll take about 6 donuts and some Irish cream coffee (heavy on the Irish)

Lyzziesmom-- I'll PM you my email address. Thanks so much for putting this together!!!! Hope you have a great time at the Nutcracker! By the way, I'm totally depressed that I can't have my Heroes fix until January 22 either. Love that show! BTW-- how are you feeling?

Pozey-- I share your distaste for the dentist. I go into a sweat just making an appointment. :sad2: My mom said I had a bad experience at a dentists office as a child-- so that's probably why.

Dznyfan-- Hope you enjoyed your daughters program.

Linzybrooke-- :grouphug: First, don't sell your self short and think that you are only qualified for retail. I don't know you that well but it sounds like you have great organizational skills that would be valued at many places. Maybe it's time to think outside the box and try to apply for a job elsewhere? I'm sorry that things have been rough. Hopefully things will feel better soon!

Stupidest joke:
Why did Goofy throw the clock out the window?

To see time fly.

(Except imagine that this is told over and over again by an 8 year old boy who follows it with peels of laughter, saying "isn't that funny mom?") :teeth:

Okay-- so my meeting with the principle-- We get there and Keagan tells the principle what he knows happened. My son didn't see the kid hit him with the scissors, but another kid did. Soooo we call in the "accused." Of course he denies it totally. We start to call other kids in the class to find out what happened. We get 6 different stories about what happened. One kid said that he saw the accused hit my sons arm, but didn't see scissors. One kids said that the scissors where on the floor and that another kid (not the accused) slid them accross the floor and they hit Keagan accidentally(they were all sitting on the floor playing a game). Another kid didn't see anything. One said he never saw scissors anywhere near them that day. And on and on it goes.... Along the way we do find out that the sub had no control over the class, it was frankly chaos. About the only thing they all agreed on was that they were sitting on the floor. :confused3 By this time I'm frustrated! We have spent a total of 3 hours at the school and found out nothing! :furious: I tell the principle that if it was truely an accident, then I have no problems. If it was intentionally done however, I have big problems. Meanwhile, I feel bad for having all the kids come in and talk to the principle on their break. Hopefully the other parents are understanding about all this. If the sub had done her job to begin with, we could have settled this Friday. The principle did tell me that that sub will never teach at that school again. My son still feels, in his gut, that this was an intentional act but there is no way to prove it. So we are at a standstill. So I am left with leaving my son in the class and going on the way things are or moving my son to the other class. I told the principle I wanted to take a week to thinkg through things. I left with a headache. I'm going to try and give it some space and talk with my son and husband to decide what we should do. Oh, did I mention that a few months ago, somone in his class cut up his backpack with scissors? The have a hall connected to their classroom where they hang the stuff and one day the whole front pocket and the shoulder things were all cut up. Of course no one did it :rolleyes1 Most of the kids in his class are great, his teacher is great. There are just a couple that are a problem.

Oh well, sorry for the long vent. It will all work out in the end.

On a brighter note, Have a great day! BTW Love the question of the day. Very fun!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am still trying to catch up with everyone.

Today is my first day back at work and I want to go home! There is a HUGE stack of paperwork and bills that has to be completed (they should have been done last week, but no one knows how to do anything).

I am so ready to move. Mike kept saying how hot FL was and how he missed the cold. Well, it's 31º here and I am sick of it. Both he and I are getting colds. :guilty: OK, enough complaining.

We want to take my little brother (9) to WDW in April. I was able to get all dining reservations I wanted this morning. :woohoo: We told Mike's parents that we are coming down and invited them to join us. Mike told his mom she had to tell me by yesterday if they were going, but she didn't call. She did this last time and that's why we ended up telling her we weren't going to WDW (she would rather us come to her house and stay. Thanks, but no thanks).

Lin, I know how you feel. My last job was horrible. Everything about it was terrible, from the managment to the work itself (I worked at a law firm that foreclosed on homes). The best thing that happened was the day I was laid off. I like my current job a lot more. You have management experience and that counts for a lot. I am sure that you can find something that isn't in retail. :wizard: for you and :grouphug: feel better.

April, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

:wave2: to everyone!!
