Lesa, I also had trouble finding the DIS last night. I gave up and watched ER instead, and by the time it was over, the DIS was back. I wonder where it went?

Amber, sorry I can't help you with advice on men. I've given up trying to understand that kind of stuff a long time ago!

Well I went to the Dr. this morning for my back pain, they need to do another round of cortisone injections, on both sides of my back this time. Last time it was only on one side. Also, since I don't numb up well (last time I could feel EVERYTHING) they want to do it under sedation. This means I have to take yet another day off of work. I do have enough sick time (barely) but of course the only day they can do this before the end of October is the same day we are getting a new hire here who I am supposed to help train. It is also the day after my birthday. Fun fun, and happy birthday to me. Here's a couple shots in the butt. Needless to say, my boss is not too happy about the timing. She said that of course I can take the day off since I need to have this done, but she hinted that upper management (who is in a different state) wants to make my job part-time, and she has been butting heads with them over it. Which means I'd lose not only a good chunk of my pay, but also ALL my benefits. Which means I'd have to quit and not be eligible for unemployment. So... now I'm really freaking out and will not be going on any weekend trips so as to save up some extra emergency money.

Speaking of which, I'd better get some work done today. Hopefully the DIS will be less tempermental tonight because I don't think I'll be sleeping well.

:grouphug: sorry Lyzziesmom!! Well, I know you're not supposed to get unemployment if you quit but my ex is. He quit in May and he's getting it  !! I was talking to my boss about it this morning. He's ticked too since he did quit! Maybe if it comes to that she can lay you off to be sure you can get the unemployment? I don't know just throwing out ideas, I've never been unemployed...knocking on wood now;)...personally I'd be getting my resume out and see if you can find something just in case :thumbsup2 thumbs up of coarse! good luck.

Hello fellow Cliqueless Disers!!!!!

I'm back!!! As you all know, I've been consumed with preparing my home for sale and at times did not have access to a computer and at other times I just didn't have the time to even check the computer. :faint:

I've got so many pictures and stories to share with you guys but I'm so new to this whole digital camera thing, I'm still trying to figure out how to get the pictures off!! I guess I'll need to go to Ritz and have them make a CD for me.

Well, the good news is the house sold. . . . in the first day!!!! We got the call while in Animal Kingdom and got a confirmation call that we were getting our asking price over dinner at Prime Time 50's cafe. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was a blast but unfortunately, the trip didn't feel like a vacation at all!

Here's a little background. . . the contractors were here longer than they were supposed to be which made us have to run around like chickens with their heads cut off on the day that we were to leave for Florida. Not only did we have to clean the place up after the contractors left which is a whole other story that made me more than a little upset because they got paint everywhere and left glue in places where it shouldn't have been but we also had to stage the house and make it shine. That was no small feat on top of having to pack for our trip and be at the airport on time. No matter what, we were having the house on the market by the time we left!! The house went on the market at 3:30pm on the Wednesday we left. I was exhausted by the time I got on the plane and slept the whole 2 hour flight to Orlando.

On Thursday, we did not sleep in but headed over to Animal Kingdom for park opening and a chance to ride Expedition Everest. Believe it or not, I was chosen to open the park and I got a cool little certificate thanking me for my very important contribution and I got a free fast pass to any ride in the park for my whole party which consisted of me, DH and my two DSiss. I have pictures but I can't get them off the camera. I was however able to find this picture of me
DSC00286.JPG

on Yeti-Man.com I also have a picture with the Yeti Man himself. If you don't know who the Yeti Man is (because I didn't) check out this interview that was done on him by the St. Petersburg Times (a Tampa/St. Pete newspaper). I have pictures of that too but, again, I can't get them off the #$&^% camera!!! :furious: :rotfl: The Yeti-Man has ridden E:E like 700 times now. He's trying to get in 1000 before Christmas. All in all Thursday morning and Animal Kingdom were pretty cool.

I must admit that when we got the call about the house selling I did get a little emotional. Heck, I got teary eyed when they put the For Sale sign in the yard. I know that having your house sell in one day is a dream but I just thought I'd have more time to get used to the idea of it even being on the market. Alas, it wasn't so. Friday was MNSSHP and alls I can say is, IT WAS AWESOME!!! If you ever get the chance to go to one of the parties you definately must!!! The characters are so cute "dressed up" in costume and the headless horseman was awesome. We have tons of pictures that I can't wait to share with you all!! My DSis dressed up as Snow White and she fooled a couple of people (not on purpose). We would be in a shop and adults would catch her out of the corner of their eye and take in a big gasp of delighted surprise because they really thought she was Snow White. Even a few kids asked if they could have their pictures taken with her which she obliged. What is even cooler is at these MNSSHPs they have quite a bit of focus on the villains. She was able to get her picture with the Evil Queen from Snow White. The Evil Queen made her kneel. Wait until you see the pictures!! The look on my sister’s face is priceless!! Oh, and in the parade they had the JD, Captain Jack Sparrow look alike. My other sister was dressed as a pirate and he was making eyes at her. Wait till you see the pictures!! I know I keep saying that but I really want to share them with you guys!! Disney, as always, was awesome!! And Pop was terrific! When we had to fax papers back and forth to the realtor Pop’s concierge staff was more than accommodating and for being on vacation the transactions went off without a hitch. I love Pop!!

I know I didn’t get a chance to tell you guys before we left but DH and I had decided that we were going to rent a car and drive back home and stop in several cities and towns along the way just to see if any of them struck our fancy. We were talking and realized that we can live anywhere we want to if we choose to. So, we decided that we would drive up through DeLand, FL and into St. Augustine, FL, St. Mary’s Georgia, Aiken, SC and onto the Greenville area of South Carolina.

We were NOT impressed with DeLand and St. Augustine was too touristy. On Sunday night we did spent the night in St. Augustine and on Monday we did all of the tourist attractions. Then we made it up to St. Mary’s, Georgia. I loved St. Mary’s. It’s right over the Florida line so it was like being in Florida but being in Georgia gave it Southern Charm. I could honestly see myself living in St. Mary’s but sadly, they had much industry closed down all around them and that made the area look (and kind of feel) depressed. But, St. Mary’s itself was a great little town.

Originally, we had reservations to stay in Savannah, GA on Monday night but Hilton Head is so close and I’ve always wanted to stay in the DVC resort there plus we could use our points (because I had some that were going to expire this year if I didn’t use them) instead of paying for a hotel room. When I first tried calling DVC’s Member Services to get into Hilton Head there was no availability but they said I could call everyday to see if they had any cancellations. So, that’s what I did. I called everyday and they had nothing. Well, Friday came and Member Services are closed on the weekend so this was my last shot. While my family was eating at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot I went outside for one last call to Member Services. Funny thing is I got the same guy I had originally talked to on Monday, Ted. And as luck would have it they had a one bedroom open for that night. Awesome!! Now I could wash some clothes as the one bedrooms have a washer and dryer!! Cool!!

Hilton Head was absolutely beautiful!! I did not want to leave. I would have to say that HHI was the most relaxing leg of the trip. On Tuesday we headed up to Aiken, SC. We weren’t impressed with Aiken either. Aiken was beautiful but it was too crowded and too busy and it didn’t “feel” like home to us. So, onward to Easely, SC where our attentions were mainly focused on as our new home. A little more background. . . DH and I actually used to live in Easley, SC. We met and married there. Me, the Jersey girl, was down visiting friends who happened to be friends with my DH’s brother. DH, the Delaware boy, was down visiting his brother and as they say the rest is history. We loved it there when we lived there but alas I thought I needed to be close to family even though I absolutely adored S.C. and the Greenville area. So, here we are 10 years later getting ready to move back.

On Wednesday I stopped back in at my old job and they were all glad to see me and then we headed over to the realtors office to get some leads on houses. The short of it is for 3 days we drove around looking for houses and in three days we found nothing we liked. Then we started talking about renting for awhile and looking for a house. But, we have a dog and a cat and most places don’t want you to have pets. It was rough those three days!! By Friday my head was pounding with a headache to beat the band. I had not slept well the night before and was indeed up every hour on the hour (except for the 1 o’clock hour oddly.) I kept dreaming I was driving around on a map and the names of the towns kept flashing in front of my eyes. It was horrible and we were leaving on Saturday and we still didn’t have a place to live and we go to closing on our house on October 19th and I NEEDED a place to come home too!! I was starting to think we had made a mistake and my DH was Mister Chipper saying things like, “It’s all going to work out babe. Things are going to be just fine, babe.” And I was to the point where if he babe’d me one more time I was going to pop him right in the kisser!! My security gland was so tight that it had my face drawn up like a pickle and I wasn’t feeling very confident about our impending move, or very loving towards my DH!! We were supposed to have dinner with old friends that night and I was feeling in no mood for it and we just kept driving and driving!! I started praying. I started praying because there was nothing else I could do. My head hurt so bad, and I was feeling full of doubt and I just started praying. I prayed, “God, I’m really starting to doubt if we’re doing the right thing. We need a place to live because I’m scared I’m going to have to live in a truck with my DH, dog and cat. Please, God, please let us find a place to rent. Please just let a “For Rent” sign appear in a yard. Please just let there be a for rent sign that we come across on a cute house.” No lie, I’m really praying this. Now up to this point I had not seen any “For Rent” signs just posted but I was a desperate woman!!! We were on our way back to the hotel room so I could lay down. We ended up on a road we would not normally take but because we’re not completely familiar with the lay of the land we ended up on it. This was about 20-30 minutes after I had prayed my desperate prayer and what should appear??? The cutest little cottage/bungalow you’d ever want to see with not only one but two “For Rent” signs!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed DH’s arm and in disbelief said, “Did you see that??” Of course he hadn’t but I told him and he turned around and got the numbers. It’s so cute. It’s yellow with burgundy trim and it has a little porch on the front and the yard was so cute as well as the other homes around it. I have pictures but again, I’ll have to wait to show you. About 10 minutes later a real southern sounding gentleman called DH back. DH inquired about the house and the gentleman said, “Well did you go in and take a look? I left the place unlocked.” And DH said, “Well, no sir.” And the gentleman said, “Tell you what. How about you go take a look and then if you’re still interested in the place you can give me a call back.” So, that’s what we did and it is so cute. Everything on the inside has been redone. New flooring, new paint and some new windows. It’s 2 BRs/1 Bath but that ‘s all we need on about a ½ acre. Oh, and there was nothing in the house to be taken so I guess that’s why he left the door unlocked. That and he said the neighbors all around are really nice folks. And, we can have our dog and cat there. In talking with the gentleman, it turns out that he retired from the place DH had worked before we moved. They knew many of the same people and it really is a small world. Let me tell you just how much better I felt once I knew I had a place to come home too. I was able to go and have dinner with my friends and enjoy the evening. We are about 12 miles outside of Clemson (and Clemson University), 10 miles out of Easley and 22 miles away from Greenville. We are in a perfect location.

We got home this past Saturday night and we were able to stay in our home for the first time in just about 4½ weeks. Two weeks because the stupid contractor took over our house and then an additional few days for the carpet guy then us cleaning the place and staging it then a week and a half we were in Florida and South Carolina. It felt weird staying here and I almost feel like I’m in someone else’s house. Not only does the place look totally different with new paint, carpet, and doors but also because I know it’s sold and I have a house waiting for me in S.C.

I’m sad and excited at the same time. So, there’s my tale. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay in touch with you all on a regular basis now. Thank you to the ones who took the time to PM me. It meant so much (more than you know) to know that you were thinking about me.

I’m not even going to attempt to get caught up so if you all don’t mind I’m just going to jump in from here.

Missed you guys. Glad to be back.

Michele, I was just looking at that Sugar Plums book at Borders today! I bought #8 and 9, and I saw that one but couldn't quite figure out where it "goes." I guess I'll have to go back & get that one before too long. I'll just print myself out another 25% off coupon (I'm on their email list)! Lyzzie has a Borders gift card she got for her birthday, I wonder if I could talk her into buying me a book? Hahaha!!

pozey, of course Courtney's doll is cute, I mean LOOK at the girl! She is such a little doll herself. And I don't usually say that about other people's kids!

Darn it, it's too bad my mom can't babysit Emma because now I've got the travel bug. I think I will look into a bed & breakfast I've always wanted to go to... it's in central KS and it's really cool, it's an exotic animal farm. There is a hayride and a "safari" tour in the evening and then in the morning after breakfast you help feed the giraffes, kangaroos and zebras, and then go on pony or camel rides. I could take both of the kids and it's only about $119 for a family suite with bunk beds. Sort of like "Animal Kingdom Lodge Lite." With any luck they will have a room available next weekend!

I wonder if Nicole is on the plane yet.
What is the name of that bed & breakfast? It sounds really cool.

Well that sounds cool!! Are you all staying at the same resort? I'd have to see if DH wants to come. Probably he would. I know when we get our new employment many times if you have a prescheduled trip they will work with you so it's good that I'd have the dates to give them. By the way, Linda, have you been able to work from home yet? I hope so.

Oohh, how exciting to eat at Ohana's. I've always wanted to eat there but never have had the chance. I love Le Celliers!! Yum!!

It would be nice to all stay at one place but honestly we'll probably stay at one or two places and meet up in the morning. Lyzziesmom and I were checking some prices and it was like $400 difference to stay at value or moderate and for just a few nights... I'm just not that picky at where I stay. I'd rather put that $400 toward a quad for Kenny ;) :ssst: don't tell him :teeth: I'd be perfectly happy at Pop personally... I'm just so excited b/c RnR was on the list to be on refurb during those dates and now it's off the list :woohoo: :cheer2:  I'm so excited we should be able to ride it!!! I love that coaster!!!! :dance3: I hope you and your dh can come!!!

Welcome back, April! Quite the story you had to tell - I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, it's really cool that you got to open AK, and despite the stresses of your home sale, it's over and you already found that little place! Faith works miracles. :thumbsup2

Hey DznyFan!! Glad to see you!! Opening AK was indeed fun. I had no idea that's what they were going to have me do.    AK is my favorite park next to MK. I love MK because it was the first and that's where Mickey and the gang "lives" but DH and I really love AK. I just can't wait to show you guys my pictures!! Does anybody know how to get these pictures off my camera and onto my computer? :confused3 That's it, I'm going to have to make a trip down to Ritz tonight. I really want you guys to see the photos. Probably more than you really want to see them.

I love RnR. I rode it this past trip by myself. :( But, at least I got to ride it. :teeth: I didn't get to ride ToT, though, and I really wanted to.

I'm not picky where I stay either. It's DH that's the resort snob. :rotfl: :rotfl2: I shouldn't say that. He's NOT snobby in any way shape or form but after we bought DVC and stayed at the DVC resorts he's grown accustomed (sp?? Oh spelling Nazi :rolleyes1 ) to the one bedroom at OKW.

So, if that were the case and everybody wasn't staying at the same resort, I guess we'd just stay using our DVC points.

If DH can't go are any of the other ladies bunking together? I don't think I'd like staying in a room all by myself but I'd be glad to bunk together. Or at least let me get a 1BR and have someone stay on the pull out with me. Well, not with me on the pull out but with me in the room. Of course, I haven't even run this by DH yet. I'm just running with it! :rotfl:

Oh my goodness I'm imagining it to be soo much fun!! :woohoo:

Oh, but I can SO relate to that!! We've owned at OKW for over 11 years. We've stayed at BW, Poly, POFQ, and Coronado (since owning DVC). We stayed at the original "Port Orleans" (now FQ) and WL before buying. We usually stay at OKW. The rooms are bigger, I love the floorplan, and the resort is just so darn laid back. I can hardly get my DH to stay anywhere else. If I were to ever BUILD a home, I'd use the floorplan for the grand villa. If I were to build a little place like a cabin or something, I'd use the 2 bdrm floorplan. Can you tell I  my OKW?

That's too cute April :) Mike hasn't been to enough resorts to be a resort snob yet :) He just said GF was too fancy for him but loved Poly... he didn't like YC ...too :snooty: for him :teeth: we like the laid back comfortable atmosphere. I don't want to dress up to feel normal in a resort...plus I'd rather spend the extra on things to bring home ::yes:: ... or toward another trip!!!!

Oh, Linda - he'd LOVE OKW. It can be kinda pricey, though, for non-DVCers - at least for the one-bedroom. It is laid back, tropical, and quiet! The bus service isn't too bad, really (I've seen some folks really complain about it, but the same can be said for any of the other resorts as well). It is VERY homey feeling...

April, welcome back! It's good to see you here again! That is so COOL about opening AK, and you look so happy in the picture you posted! I can try to give advice about loading your pictures, but I'm not sure if it'll make sense. I don't know what your level of computer knowledge is, so I'll try to explain it in simple terms. Forgive me if I ramble. Your camera should have come with a USB cable, it usually has a small connector on one end that you plug into your camera, and a larger flat connector on the other end that you plug into your computer. Most newer computers have USB ports on the front, sometimes they are in the back of the computer near where the mouse plugs in. After you plug both ends of the USB cable into the right spots, you usually have to turn on your camera. A box should pop up on your computer telling you it has found a new device and asking what you want to do with the pictures. Click on the option that says something like "save these pictures to a folder." It will have you browse to a folder, it's easiest to use the "my pictures" folder that's in "my documents". I usually will make a new folder inside there with the date on it, but that's completely optional. Since every camera & computer is a little different, your options might be a little different but the basic idea is the same. Another box will pop up with small pictures of all your photos, just click "select all" at the bottom at click "ok." Then voila, it will copy all the pictures from your camera into "my pictures" on your computer and tell you when it's done! Does that make any sense???

I'd be interested in possibly rooming with you. It's funny that you asked, because I was going to bring up the idea of sharing rooms! I will most likely have Emma with me, but she is good company and a lot of comic relief!

My boss confirmed today that she is fighting management on making my job part-time. I am so upset, I went into the bathroom and had myself a good cry. The first in a loooooong time, except for when I'm watching tv. I blubber like a moron at the tv all the time. Anyway, after washing my face I found my resume and got that updated & put onto monster.com and even applied to a couple places. Just kind of testing the waters, just in case. I have had a bad feeling for a while that something bad was going to happen so I'd like to be prepared. My boss is pretty p.o'ed at management for this whole thing and she disagrees with them, but who knows what will happen. I am SO stressed out!

Time to go home, I'll catch up more later this evening. What's everyone doing this weekend? We are going to an arts & crafts festival, we try to go every year. It's very small-town homey and loads of fun.

lyzziesmom,

You are awesome!!! :cheer2: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm uploading my pictures to Kodakgallery.com as we speak. I can now do that because I got the pictures off of my camera and onto the computer!! :woohoo: My computer/camera combo was a little different but you're right, the basics are the same and You Da Girl!! :cool1: :woohoo:

If DH doesn't go, I'd love to room with you and Emma. :grouphug:

I am so sorry to hear about your job. I'm going to go back a few posts to get the whole story. Boy have I missed alot. :guilty:

You guys would definately love OKW. Like DznyFan said, very laid back, tropical and quiet. It's terrific.

DznyFan, have you stayed in the Grand Villa? I've never been in one but I'd love to see it. If you have, got any pictures?
