Cliqueless Question of the Day:

What is your favorite holiday?

lyzziesmom....good news on the birth certificate!! As for that ice...I just heard Kansas City is under an ice warning...be careful. :cold:

Linda- That's good news about Kenny's stepmom.

Lyzziesmom- That's great news about Emma's birth certificate!

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love everything about it, being with family, decorating the tree, getting the Christmas spirit....everything! :santa:

yep. he didn't see him at all until I started seeing Mike. Then it was just Sunday afternoons to take him to his parents for lunch. When he started seeing her...then it became an every other weekend, every thurs. night like the local rule states. That was just so her kid would have some one to play with and babysit him  It will be very interesting to see if he drops back out of the picture again or steps up to the plate. Knowing his history...he'll drop back out. Which would be the best for Kenny. Not only abusive etc. he tells him so much crap that isn't true...and sends him home and tells him to tell us this...or do this to Mike... so immature  It'll be interesting for sure!

Favorite holiday... Christmas of coarse ;) I love the shopping, the decorating, watching Kenny open his gifts... last year it was so cute... he opens something... wow mom this is what I always wanted :cheer2: ...what is it? :lmao: those moments are just priceless!! :cloud9:

July 4 is pretty good too. Love the fireworks and festivities!! The cook outs :woohoo:

Lyzziesmom - loved the pictures! Congratulations, by the way, on Emma's new birth certificate. Good news! Ewww - ice. Love snow. Ice bad.

Linda - interesting turn of events regarding your ex! I guess, as it's been mentioned, it might not be such a bad thing, considering the recent events.

Fave holiday - Christmas! Followed by Halloween.

Number one favorite would definitely be Christmas. And to add to the Christmas festivities around our house......Chase's birthday is Christmas Eve.

Number two would probably be Independence Day (Fourth of July).

I didn't answer my own question!! I'm going to join the rest of you whose favorite holiday is Christmas (and not just because it's right around the corner). I just love the music, the lights, the cookies, the presents.... everything!!

I finally made it home!! Thank goodness my mom called & offered to keep the kids tonight, it is BAD out there. The ice on my car was so thick, I broke my scraper! Luckily someone else was leaving right when I looked at the stubby end where the scraper should be and said, "Oh CRAP!" and he helped me scrape the rest of my car (and pry my door open - I had to go in through the passenger side to turn the defroster on). I'm telling you, Feb. can't come fast enough!!

I now see why my dad kept telling me I need new tires. At one intersection, my tires just kept spinning & the car wouldn't go anywhere. I was getting freaked out, and other cars kept honking at me, and it only made it worse. I finally got home, but the 5-minute drive took me 1/2 hour. I need to go pick up a Rx from the pharmacy across the street before my insurance runs out (tomorrow is the last day) but I am too scared to go out again. Hopefully by tomorrow the streets will be cleared.

I hope this ice storm passes quickly and none of the rest of you get it!

:goodvibes :goodvibes lyzziesmom :goodvibes :goodvibes glad you made it home safely. Looks like one wicked winter storm brewing...I think we are supposed to get ice before snow but it's just now getting close to freezing here. Then they are saying 5-10" of snow.... :confused3 :teeth: Good luck getting you prescription. Maybe they could let you charge it over the phone...and get it later?? Just be careful :goodvibes

Ok..I will say Christmas although it is a bunch of work. :teeth: (a little Grinch coming out) :rolleyes1

I just checked the UG crowd calendar (which I've found to be pretty reliable) for our dates in Feb... happy to report they are all 4's and 5's!! I've gone when the days are even 6's and the crowds are REALLY low. 4's are almost empty. This is great news!!!

Hi, everybody!! It's still in the 60's here, but the temperature drop and winter storm are on it's way!!! :sad1:

pozey: I love the pics of your kids!!! They don't even look miserable sitting out in almost 70 degree weather with winter sweaters on. So, who do the kids look like? I see two separate looks between Colton and Chase. Courtney seem to be the in-between or "missing link" that tie the boys' looks together. I was just curious. Everyone says Nathan looks just like me. I think that is true, but sometimes he acts just like his father!!

YourMajesty:: I'm glad Sophie is doing better. She's lucky to have a caring family to take care of hr. :goodvibes
Did you have on bobble earrings in your Wilderness Woman photo? You do know how to accessorize!!! :thumbsup2

April:: Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your penguin. That had to have been heartbreaking. My heart melted when you said Steven was on his knees trying to put it back together. That's just so sweet.
Good luck on deciding about the dining plan. Sounds like a good trip to do it. Maybe call around and see what TS restaurants have availibility before deciding?

Nicole:: Yeah!!! for getting the Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets. They are coming to St. Louis and I think they would be terrific to see/listen to!!!
Woo Hoo!!! 2000 post for our TinkerBell_Girl!!!! :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2: :tinker:

lyzziesmom:: I'm glad you made it home in the ice!! I think I would get in comfy PJ's and stay in for the night if at all possible. Be careful out there...and it's heading our way. Great news about Emma's birth certificate! :goodvibes A good reason to celebrate the New Year!!!
I didn't receive the link for your Christmas pics. Did you send it?

Lesa:: Thanks for the cup of coffee!!! I'm saving it for later...when the temps drop!!! :teeth:
So... Brittany got busted!!! Where's your camera when you need it??? I would have LOVED to have seen the look on that girl's face!!! :rotfl2:

Linda:: Quite an interesting development about the ex's (cough, cough) wifey!! Talk about getting busted!! Maybe your ex will just kind of ride off into the sunset now and leave you and Kenny in peace.

Angela:: Welcome Back!!! :wave2: We want to hear all about your trip when you get a chance!!! Post some pics, too!!! How was POR?? How were the crowds?? Tell us everything!!!

Lin:: Happy belated 2nd Wedding anniversary!!!! :bride: :groom:
You're making me all hungry again talking about pies!!! They sound delicious!!

What is my favorite holiday?? Has to be Christmas!!!
xmastree.gif

I love the lights, the festive mood and spending special time with family and friends!!! I love the look on Nathan's face on Christmas morning when he discovers that Santa has left presents around the tree!!

Super news about UG's crowd calendar!!! I want to be in WDW NOW!!!

Hey kiddies---

I haven't had time to go back and read the past couple of days, but just wanted to say hey, so "hey"!!!!!!

I had such a busy day yesterday with my treatment/work that I came home last night and crashed--then had an early morning this morning at work and haven't stopped since. Our holiday season has begun. Everyone needs to get pretty for their parties, etc.

So, how many people are expecting bad weather?? I thought you, Lyzziesmom, all day because I kept hearing that KC was under an ice storm warning. Ya'okay there Lyzziesmom?????? Be safe, chickie!!!

It's headed my way tomorrow------Donna---be careful and everyone else it's going to effect-----you all too!!!!

I'm supposed to have another treatment in the morning and then work----basically a repeat of yesterday then have to be back at work at 7am Friday morning----so whenever this storm hits, either way, I'm out of luck.

I stopped at the market on my way home from work today to get a few things and had an urge for Redi-Whip-------thanks Kenny!!!!! :teeth: :teeth: BTW----why do all the little boys get the beautiful eyelashes??? Darling pic---Linda!!!

Pozey----once again, wonderful pics of Colton, Chase and Courtney!!! Is that waterfall in your backyard??

Welcome back Angela!!!!!!! Can't wait to hear how Thanksgiving went in WDW. Did the boys have a wonderful time?? You ended up telling them right before you left, right??

Donna----yum, coffee cake-----it's funny, I always forget about coffee cake as a breakfast food. :confused3 :confused3 Who knew.

YM----glad to hear Sophie is feeling a bit better. Did the vet say how she might have picked this up?? Or is it like humans and is just a virus?? This always confuses me----they say dogs can't pick up virus' from humans and vice versa, but for some reason, this doesn't make sense to me. :confused3

Favorite holiday------Arbor Day. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

j/k-----well, let's see-----Of course, I love Christmas, but to be honest with you, in the business I'm in----it is such a whirlwind that I don't get to enjoy it as much as I used to. One of my favorite things to do, however, is to put some Christmas music on in the car and drive around and look at lights. I still tear up, too, when I hear the Nativity Story (maybe this is why Charlie Brown's Christmas is still my favorite when Linus, I think it is, quotes it :teeth: )

So, with Christmas being kind of crazy I find myself really loving and enjoying Easter. There is something about the "newness" of the springtime, the pastel colors, seeing all of the little girls and boys dressed up at church and then getting to hunt for eggs, etc. So, I have to say Easter is right up there with Christmas, if not bypassing a bit because it is not so hectic and I get to actually enjoy it.

I have to say, too, thanks all for your thoughts and prayers again for my family. Sorry to have gotten so emotional the other night with everything-----it's just really overwhelming and I'm really intensely feeling the effects of my steroid meds being raised. My moods are up and down and I can't stand it----so my apologies.

Luca update---so far no more "episodes" since Monday, but he is being watched like a hawk.

Grandma update----still not eating and is getting very weak. Her infections are still improving. My mom seems to think they will have to put her in a nursing home----but that's just her opinion.

I think Chase and Courtney look alike. Am I right Pozey or is it just me?

Lyzziesmom- I am so glad you made it home okay. How scary!

I couldn't have put it better myself. I long for the day that I find a non-retail job where I get to spend evenings and weekends with Chris and the puppies.

hi Lin----you surviving????

Happy belated anniversary, btw.

Hi Nicole----I may have to hire you out to come over and wrap my Christmas gifts. I'll even supply you with some music and hot chocolate if you'd like. I don't mind wrapping---I just get frustrated very easily when my creases don't turn out nice and crisp, so I end up taking five times longer than needed on one present. :confused3

I hear the wind really kicking up outside----I think we are supposed to have thunderstorms first, then the temp. is supposed to drop suddenly then change over to the wintery mix. Lovely.

Hot chocolate? I am so there! :teeth:

Hey 2x! Believe it or not the last two days have been ssssllllloooowwww...dismally slow. And with our ice storm supposed to take place over night I don't imagine tomorrow will be much better. The worst part is that we have extended mall hours which means we open at 9 and close at 10 Sunday-Friday and are open 7-10 on Saturday. It makes for some long days! I hope the holiday traffic gets better quick; I could really use a bonus this month!

I missed most of what has been going on with your family. I picked up bits and pieces but never found the entire story. So sorry to hear things are tough right now! You are in my prayers!

Hope tomorrows treatment goes well! (or is it on Friday?)

Wow, Lin----those are long hours!!! You don't work the entire shift, do you?? Maybe people aren't into the shopping just yet----I'm sure it will pick up!!!

We are expecting ice/snow storm tomorrow, too. I am supposed to have an IVIG treatment (my 2nd of 3 this month) then off to work, but I guess I will have to decide whether or not to reschedule my treatment, even though healthwise, I shouldn't. We are expected to show up for work though, no matter what. :sad2:

Thanks for your prayers---my grandma ended up in the hospital the night before Thanksgiving and isn't doing very well. She just won't eat. Then, my 10 1/2 month old nephew, Luca, keeps having these "throwing up" episodes for no rhyme or reason-----he was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago (he was pale and lifeless), but they dismissed him, not finding anything wrong. :confused3

Well, I'm off to sleep----no hoot for me tonight.

Be careful everyone in the storms!!!!
