July 4 ….Quiet?

Magic Kingdom looks amazing this morning (July 5)!

The two times I have done the 4th at Disney World the 5th is the absolute best time to hit the parks. The majority of people sleep in or take it easy on the 5th.

I got behind a relatively massive tour group in the FoP LL yesterday - I’m estimating 50ish people. Unknown to us when we scanned in we got in the middle of the back third of their group who were stragglers, who then later wanted to get by us and others around us in the LL line. Mildly annoying but whatever, they seemed to be younger people having fun and I was willing to have some grace. Was not upset we later got split into different theaters/rides though.

Saw the same group later at Epcot, along with several others. Definitely numerous groups around property.

I saw three more today, two at AK and one at HS just now. Was surprising as usually I don’t see the “15s” this time of year.

Yeah, new this time of year to me as well. I also don’t recall having personally experienced a large tour group with LL before (may just be my random timing), but I guess Disney sells packages with them to groups. Can’t be cheap, I would think.

Likely Disney and Universal understand the trends impacting them or not - probably better than most - and earnings will begin reflecting the actual impacts (positive or negative) over the next two reporting periods. So, it will be interesting to watch.

Exactly. How may threads have been started the last few years that say "the parks are dead" and then earnings come out and attendance was always flat to up slightly. Maybe this will finally be the quarter that that broken clock is right. lol

We were able to get dining at The Brown Derby 30 minutes before arrival time!

We have seen group crowds. Plus, Rock n Roll and Mickey and Minnie’s RR have both been down for some time today so far.

I’m at HS right now too. Rise is down as well. All three I had LLs for. But I am tapping out; unfortunately had a spicy brain situation in the queue for MFSR and had to make a quick exit. Thankfully CMs have been wonderful.

It's almost like the anecdotal comment from a small sample size (one individual's visit) might lack accuracy.

This is my 3rd summer participating in another low crowds dead parks discussion. The first time I got sucked in was during the week of July 4th 2023. There were multiple reports of "Magic Kingdom is dead" along with "live" pictures of a completely empty MK. The most disturbing part was to read all the re-posts and comments from the people who were delighted to see this "news".

Coincidentally, we were at WDW during that time and despite the temperatures feeling like 102-105°F, the parks were not dead and MK was definitely not deserted. I still have a picture from one of those "empty" MK days.

Just checked times at WDW for the 4th of July 4 at about 5:30pm. I was always told it’s insane. But Disney Studios is the lightest crowds I’ve seen in 20 years! Only Epcot seemed a bit busier than usual - although Frozen was down and pushing crowds to Mexico. What is going on???

Perhaps it may be the 4th of July itself or the reduction in international tourists due to politics from outside of Florida.

We were at the parks yesterday. My husband agreed to stay and do one day in the parks with me after our son's volleyball tournament (that I booked before he could change his mind haha). We used LL and were able to go on everything on our list at 4 parks and were drinking and enjoying world showcase at Epcot by 5:30 until fireworks. I am planning to do a short trip recap soon. When we were in Magic Kingdom yesterday afternoon, it felt really crowded walking around the park, but the ride wait times were not too bad. We only did peoplemover, tianas, tron and buzz lightyear ranger spin though. I guess I haven't been there when the crowds were at insanely busy level. This is the 4th time in 5 years that I have been to the parks around the 4th. Last year, my daughter and I went a few days the week before the 4th, and it felt a lot more crowded than the actual 4th of July.

Nothing, I mean nothing prepared us for how crowded Disney Springs was last Wednesday night. It was the busiest place we visited last week by far We decided to only do mornings at DS from now on. In the end, I'd say it was busy but managable. I did come back home with a cold, could have done without that

We were at MK on the first and it was similar 55 min + for the popular rides and thick crowds almost everywhere. Maybe it is partially the AP effect?

It's probably almost entirely the AP effect. APs were valid the 30th and 1st, and then blocked out from the 2nd to 6th.

Seasonality has shifted for sure in Florida. Year round schools, charter schools, homeschooling, and DINKs are growing - which don't have to adhere to the traditional school calendar.

For one I don't mind the heat or the humidity. I live the South and although the sun is stronger in FL, the heat and humidity is similar.

I was at WDW this past week for 5 days and enjoyed the low wait times much of the week. Yes, it rained every afternoon. I wore crocs and carried an umbrella. That's just how it is in Florida this time of year.

My experience was that even the low wait times reported on the app were mostly overstated, which is sort of typical.

I have a relative at Studios today. The picture they sent from MM Railroad entrance just before 11 had no one in it. They did Rise at 2 pm with a 20 minute wait. And in the last half hour, rode Millennium Falcon alone with no one else in the ship. Just relative alone in it. Twice.

Rise was a 25 minute wait when I got off it earlier. Am at MK for a last ride on Liberty Belle and the only things that aren’t virtually a walk on rn are Tron and Pooh. Everyone who is here was on TSI.
