I DID read one - guilty as charged!! Started 10 last night, finished it today. Haven't started 11 yet. Glad DH and sons had a great time at the game - OU won, right? truth is, I haven't seen much TV today and haven't checked any scores...

I AM about to go crazy with these neighbors! This is a nice neighborhood (150K - 200K homes) and we lived in this neighborhood before (then we moved to the country for a few years), and we managed to find a house we fell in love with that is just sandwiched between two PIA's. We didn't have much trouble with the younger bunch until the folks with the 5 kids moved in on the other side of them, now it's a daily (multiple times) problem. When Erin was little I would have been MORTIFIED if she had gone and played in our neighbor's front yard - but then, she was never outside in the front yard unsupervised to begin with. Sometimes I'm just really, really old-school.

Once she's off to college in two years, this lake property is starting to look REALLY good for full time residency.

DnzyFan...yes they won but I napped through the game. The bad news was that Adrian Petterson boke his collar bone and is out for the season (may be ok for a bowl game)? That's what I heard earlier today.

We have a guy that put up some rope between his yard and our neighbors...who were playing football in his yard. Honestly, I can't believe that parent don't teach their kids that yards, lanscape, etc is NOT for the kids to destroy. We had two houses for sale in our culd-de-sac and one neighbor was watching his child bump into and dent up the garage doors (she would go from house to house bumping the doors with her bkie tire). Some of the neighbor kids beat my bushes up with a broom for fun...now I won't even go into what my DS did once (only once)...to my bushes. I really stress for my kids not to touch lanscape anywhere. It is sad that folks do not respect anything anymore...not even the danger of a car (we'll just sue the person if they hit us)...is money worth being in a hospital or having permanent injuries?? Ok...I'll stop.

hey, kids!! Wonder how Lyzziesmom's date is going?

Well it turns out he has a girlfriend....






and it's me!

Had a great time, lost a bunch of money at the casino (some of it mine) and had dinner & drinks. He is so silly, he bought two $1.00 casino chips just to keep as souvenirs, after I lost $25 on one hand of blackjack. Yikes! (Ok well I did win the first hand, so technically I came out even). Thank goodness my mom got her furnace fixed, because that would have made the smoochy on the couchy portion of the evening quite awkward indeed!

I have had no luck finding Plum #10 in the stores, it's driving me crazy!! I've gotten all the rest no problem, and now suddenly they are all gone. I'm going to try the other Borders tomorrow, and then I'm plum out of ideas. Get it, plum... Plum?? Man, I'm witty at 5am.

Um... yeah. Aaaaaanyway.... So I should go get some sleep now. I am very envious of your lazy days!! Enjoy some crepes for breakfast, or feel free to have them as a snack at any time.

Dznyfan- I just read your post on the "neighbor" thread. Oh my goodness, those kids are terrible! I am so sorry you have to deal with that! Luckly in my neighborhood, most of the kids are grown already, but we do have a few trashy neighbors.

Hi all you busy clickers!!!!
Well, I'm back from Kohl's, Old Navy and Target!!! Didn't find anything at Target(was looking for a valance for our patio door), but didn't do too bad at the other two!! I'm having a hard time adjusting to the more hip styles with...less fabric! I'm going to be too cold this winter. I actually bought a brown camisole at Old Navy. I think I have other things that will go with it.
Linda, I thought that was you I saw at Kohl's!! Too bad Kenny's team didn't win the game, but having fun is important, too!! Nathan played soccer 2 years ago and they were REALLY bad. Poor kids, I felt to sorry for them. They had a little boy that had just turned 4 and didn't know which way to kick the ball.
Red Lobster sounds so good!! I only get to go there when we "girls" go shopping. My DH hates seafood and doesn't care for the steak he had about 19 years ago.

Kennys soccer team only has 3 kids that have played before but they've done very good considering. I really haven't kept track but they've won more than they've lost. Several have just turned 4 and one scored on our own goal OOPS!! Oh well...as long as they have fun and learn something That's what it's all about. I love seafood esp. king crab legs!! when I was a kid I couldn't eat a whole burger at McD but I could eat a lb. of crab legs We buy 10# boxes from a friend Kenny loves it too. their steak is ok...but 19 years ago it might not have been at least you can go w/the "girls"

Wow Dznyfan... sorry to hear about the PIA's you're having in the neighborhood. First, I never leave Kenny unattended..and never in someone elses yard there are some crazy people out there!! No respect for other peoples property ticks me off!!! Thankfully Mike is here 90% so we don't have to worry about that much. He can run them off. My boss always says "fences make great neighbors". In some cases, that may be true. Good luck.

Hee hee, fooled ya, didn't I? That's what I was going for! All in good fun. Yes it does feel great... in fact, I was so not interested in dating at all for a couple years that I forgot just HOW great it feels.

I laugh every time I read the Kenny soccer stories. Lyzzie tried teeball at about that age, and man those kids were BAD. They looked like they were having fun though, and they didn't care about the rules at all. Rules?? What rules?? They never kept score so it was all just for fun. But some of the parents took it too seriously. I mean, hellOoooo?? The kids are FOUR!!

Blake and I just got back from the mall. I had to get a few things, it would have been a few more if he hadn't been there to hold me back So I guess it was good he came with me.

The town is having a Fall Fest at the park today. We'll go over later, we still don't have any pumkins. Matt is planning to go with some friends, one of whom I am worried about. She is a senior and seems to have set her sights on Matt. I told him he was NOT allowed to date, he says sure but then I get the comment "Mooom, we're friends, we're just hanging out!!" ARGH!! And Blake is no help. He just grins like an idiot and says 'That's my boy!'

Linda... wow I'm impressed, I'm like Donna, I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. I used to get it done early, and then would get caught up in the thrill of the holiday and buy more than I wanted to. So now I wait. Yeah, that's the reason!

Yes, it was very sad. He is such a good player and appears to be a good person. My DW was SO upset that she may have not gotten to see him play his last game for OU.

Oh.......and MI mom of 3.......Congrats on the Tigers getting to the World Series. Now.......if my CARDINALS can just win 2 more games.....they can finally exact some revenge for the Tigers beating them in the '68 Series!!

The fall fest sounds fun Michele, we had ours here a few weeks ago. Your story about Matt and the girl "friend" and Blake had me cracking up!! I shouldn't laugh, I guess I will be dealing with that stuff soon enough but I hear it's worse with girls. Yikes!

Linda, I can't believe you are finishing your Xmas shopping!! I can't even think about it yet (although I do have a few things stashed away).

I got my new phone the other day and got the service switched over today, so I spent most of the afternoon programming in my phone numbers. What a pain! The new phone is neat, but all the ringtones are different and it's taking some getting used to. I love the camera feature though, it's so fun! I will have to take pictures of everyone I know, so their photo can pop up when they call. What can I say, I am easily amused!

Well we are off to the Olive Garden tonight, in honor of 2x's dinner at Alfredo's. The new BF (geez that feels weird to say!) might be meeting us there - he is finishing up at his grandmother's funeral service right now and not sure when that'll be done. I'm a little stressed about the whole meeting the kids thing but he's looking forward to it. Might as well get it over with because if they don't like each other, forget it. Lyzzie is EXTREMELY impressed that he worked at Chuck E Cheese while in high school. Kids are so funny!

Good evening lovies!!!

Well, the fair was...the fair. Expensive food and cheap entertainment. I was done within an hour, but our show tickets to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels weren't til 8, so we just ate and ate and ate and ate. Did get my parents Christmas gift though so all was not lost (and no, its not some cheapo fair thingy! Hehehe).

I can't tell you how much fun it was looking through pictures today with my mom. We found pictures of my sister that were so funny we were both in tears! Also pictures from our first trip to Disney in 1992...lets just say that I had just hit the age of 11 and my hair was in its awkward, frizzy beyond control stage. Those pictures were TERRIFYING!!!!

Well, New York is sort of spanking the Cardinals right now...sorry Pozey! DH is thrilled the Tigers made the series, neither of my teams are going. Hopefully the cardinals can come back here soon!

Lin:: I am on my 2nd Stephanie Plum book by Janet Evanovich. In book one Steph loses her job as a lingerie salesperson and has to take a job as a bounty hunter for a sleazy cousin. Her main job is FTA's(failure to appear), but gets caught up in a case where a cop(Morelli) is accused of murder and there's a $10,000 reward for bringing him in. It's suspenseful, funny and a very good read!!! I am sure others will have more to say since they've read more of the books (there are 12 of them)!!!!


My microwave died yesterday afternoon!! It was only a year old in June and all of a sudden it doesn't heat anything!!! There is power to it and you can hear it running but...nothing!!! We brought our old microwave up from the basement and am using it for a few days.(It's 19 years old and STILL working!!) We went to Lowe's and got a new one yesterday. It's going to be delivered and installed sometime this week. I wasn't expecting to have to spend money on that, oh well.
