Guess it's time to dig out the snow boots!

ETA....momintenn....I'll trade you, it's 32. :cold:

Lesa - I'm actually jealous!! I know snow is a pain in the backside, but I always love it when it snows. Even driving in it doesn't bother me. It's cold here today, too, and my sick and twisted self wishes it looked like that here not this cold, damp mist.

Michele - reading about your school story, what excitement! I guess they will go ahead and plant something as a method of rewarding the dogs when there's nothing legitimate to be found? That's actually a great idea, because I suppose it keeps the dogs motivated for a 'job'. Not cool that a kid may have brought drugs to school, though.
What is going on with our sick world, anyway???
Angela - pixiedust: to you!

2xcited - look at you getting ready to leave! All packed?

:wave2: hello all!

What is going on with our sick world, anyway??? My DD's school had a lockdown last week because there was a shoplifter that fled the scene of the nearby store he was in and they suspected him to be in our neighborhood or the adjacent elementary school and high school. He was found and aprehended. Then twice this week kids have brought firearms to school in our metro area. On top of that, three high-profile school shootings nationally in two weeks. (or was it four?)

How scary! It make me so sad, we can't even feel safe sending out kids to school anymore. :sad2:

I must say the snow is very pretty and the sun has just peaked out. I just hope I don't have to go out and shovel it. :rolleyes1

Matt's birthday dinner was fun, my folks went with us and my mom was teasing Matt and having him ask for more drinks, bread etc The waitress was really flirting with him and paying no attention to the rest of us!
Woo Hoo!! Way to go Matt!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I am not a big fan of the food at Outback, but they will usually have very cute, and very flirtatious waitresses!! :thumbsup2

Hi!!!!!

I just called the DisneyFlorist to order a special basket thingy for my parents. It will be delivered Saturday to the WL. I got them the WDW tote bag with a bunch of goodies in it and I had them add a couple of diet cokes (for my mom) and bottled water (for my dad). The woman who was helping me was so nice!!! I'm sure they will be surprised.

I think I did my ticker wrong. I am actually leaving tomorrow night for Orlando but will be at WL on Saturday----so, I suppose by rights it is correct?? :confused3 :confused3

I have my clothes laying out next to my suitcase---does this count as being packed?? I'm afraid I am not going to be able to get by with just one suitcase, though. Overpackers Anonymous------I can be the spokesperson.

Alright, I will finally admit----

I am TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!

I will try to check in tomorrow afternoon before I leave to say goodbye.

oh, and btw, Lesa------thanks for snow pics. I am NOT ready for this and you're not too far away from me. Lovely.

Good thing it will be mid 80's and sunny where I am going. :teeth: :teeth:

Magical Day to all!!!!!!

Lyzziesmom-----Don't poo-poo the interview just yet-----you know how scheduling goes. I'd at least give them till the end of the week. :grouphug: Yay for a second date!!!! I'm envious!!

Excuse me, Miss I'm-Leaving-For-Orlando-Tomorrow?? YOU'RE envious? Puhleeeeze.

In all seriousness, I hope you feel better so you can enjoy your trip to the fullest. With the week you've had, you certainly deserve it!!

Hi everyone :wave2:

Hope you are having a great Thursday.

Jeremiah called Car Max to get an appointment for the break light, and they don't have any appointments until next Thursday. :furious: Hopefully we wont get a ticket or anything, but it isn't the whole break light, its just a corner of one so all three (left, right and middle light on the trunk) are still working. I'm lucky though because I convinced Jeremiah to take tomorrow off and he already told his boss before he called so he's still staying home and playing hooky .

About the driving...I actually still have my learning permit. I got it pretty late compared to everyone around me, when I was 17. Most of my friends took it on their 15th birthday! (You could get your permit when you were 15 in Florida, I don't know about other states though) My Grandmother got me driving lessons with a woman who would drive around with me for 3 hours at a time on the highway, I practiced parking, etc. and felt very confident. When I went to take the test when I turned 18, the instructor asked me to do something the instructor never had me practice- 3 point turns. :confused3 :rolleyes1 I remember reading about it to take my permit test but she never mentioned it to me to take the actual test. I guess she thought it was so easy, we didn't need practice. ? Anyway, for those of you who have driven a PT Cruiser, that car has a turning radiece of a turtle. So I failed that one in the first 5 seconds.

I went AGAIN to take the test in the same car and didn't get the car turned in 3 tries- when the man proceeds to tell me "You don't have to do it in 3 turns, your supposed to but as long as you don't go over the lines you won't fail like you would if you went over the lines, you can make it a 100 point turn if you want to." WELL HELLO, if I had known that in the first place...Why is it called a 3-POINT TURN then?!

So basically now I'm just nervous about taking it again and don't have the confidence to. I'm pretty rusty, That was in 2004 and basically I feel like I can't take it again. I don't want to fail. I want to get a Florida license though so I have to take the test when I visit home. I can't take it here, you have to parallel park for that test. :bitelip:
I do think I need to take it though, because then I could get out more while Jeremiah was at work, or get a part-time job and meet some people or something.

Anyway, thats my driving test story. :teeth:

Luvdzne – wow, that’s quite a bit of snow. I’m not sure if I am QUITE ready for winter just yet. I still want a little more fall weather. Like what we are having here today. It was in the 50’s this morning, and will stay cool all day long. It’s supposed to be in the mid 70s for the next few days. I love that kind of weather.

Well, I will tell you about my learning to drive experiences. I grew up on a ranch. We had lots of land, horses, and cattle. We had a couple of old pickup trucks we drove around the property as well as tractors. So, I was basically driving around the pasture either on a tractor or an old pickup by the time I was 11.

The first time I ever drove on the highway, I was 13. Dad pulled over and told me to drive home. We were driving a 4 wheel drive Ford pickup, pulling a 30 foot cattle trailer. No biggie.

So, when it came time to get my license, it was just a breeze.

DznyFan.....I meant to ask you about that when it happened. Was your DD still in class when they locked down the H.S.? How long did they have it in lock down?

The boys go to Vandever elementary, and it is far enough away that their school wasn't affected. Was your DD nervous?

Ashley, I never had to do the 3 point turn, but I did have to parallel park. I learned how to just a few days before the first driving test. My mom set up an area in our driveway (using trash cans with a stick attached. She didn't want me to practice near her other cars). Anyway, it took me three tries (during the test), but I did it. Of course now I can't parallel park for anything. I will keep driving around until I can find a spot to pull into to.

pozey, both my brothers learned to drive VERY early. They have been riding dirt bikes since they were very small, so they already had a basic knowledge of driving. Then they were allowed to drive around the farm (my mom owns race horses). Tyler (9) has been driving for about 2 years now. They can also drive a stick, but I have no clue.

You shouldn't, well if you lived in Houston you wouldn't! It seems like 1 out of every 5 cars has one of their brake lights out here. It's so annoying and dangerous.

When I hear that it's snowing up north, that's when I am so thankful to live down south! I would love to see snow in person, not the sad little flurries we sometimes get here, but I would not like to live in it!!!

With the exception of the pretty woman part - OK, maybe insert JD - I had the same reaction to that photograph.

Hey everybody :wave2: can you see I get more work done at home than A work :confused3 I'm not on here near as much. It is snowing here but just speckles... Oh Lesa...I would be miserable w/that much snow already :sad2: I don't look forward to that at all. It makes my commute really bad!!!

2x REALLY is 2 excited 2 sleep :cheer2: I would be too!!!

wow...I got my license at 16 like everyone in my class... passed 1st time...but my sister didn't...she ran a red light :teeth: I'll never let her forget that one!!

Have a good one everybody...gotta get more work done :)

Well the snow is all but a memory! Grace was very disappointed, she loved playing in it. I'm sure she will have plenty in the coming months! ;) It is still cold here, only 38. I hope it warms up because I want to go to the apple orchard and I'm not going in bitter cold! I don't like going when it's too hot either! :rolleyes1 Too many bees! :teeth:

I was lucky as my instructor didn't make me parallel park in my driving test, I still wouldn't have my drivers licence! :lmao:

2x....tomorrow! You lucky duck!!! :yay: Send some of those sunrays this way will ya! :sunny:

Glad to hear the snow is gone!

I didn't have a driving instructor (unless you count my mom and stepdad). It wasn't required to have a driving class (I did take an accident avoidance class though...AFTER I totaled my car  maybe I should have taken driver's ed  ) To get a license, you had to show up to the DMV and someone would ride with you.

Ohhhh, just got a quote for my January trip for 396 per person for 5 nights at Pop and Roundtrip Airfare! SOOOO excited! Had to share!!!
