Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

Hiya Threadkillers!

The cake is still a 10, 8 & 6" layer. I talked to my brother and the guest list is still the same. I just frosted it and piped the bottom layer (this one is going to be stacked). The bottom layer says "As for me and my house....we will serve the Lord". They are very devoted and I thought they would like it. The top layer has a large script 25 on it. I'll pipe the top two layers when I stack them at the reception hall.....wish me luck. As usual, the frosting is soft, because I think it tastes better, but it's always a transportation nightmare.

It's a yellow cake with a orange marmalade buttercream in the center and an orange flavored buttercream frosting.

I'll take pics when it's stacked and complete. I'm about to e-mail my neice to let her know that it's frosted and remind her that the reception hall needs to be nice and cool....

I'll be by tomorrow to chat my threadkillers...actually picked up a testing monitor job this week. I'm doing lots of different jobs around the high school-just biding my time til a full time position opens up.

Getting ready for our trip to WDW in Dec. Rose and I are trying alot of new and different stuff this trip and dedicating the whole week just to WDW.

The WDW Radio (Lou Mongello's) podcast is sponsoring a group cruise on the Disney Dream in Feb 2011. It's a four day and I am absolutely hell bent on getting onto this one. Anybody else here wanna consider coming too???

Pop had his 2nd Cataract surgery ....all is well there.

Having Makenzies 3rd birthday party here this weekend, YES 3RD!!!!!! It's a Strawberry Shortcake Theme. When I asked her what she wanted for her Bday...she say's "CAKE". Thats it! She is a junk food junkie this kid.
The' Toys R Us' Big Book came out last week, (they were all here for halloween too) She was looking through it...pointing to everything.."I want That, I want that ,I want that....I want...NO That for Boys...i want that".

Have some sad news to report. Prayers & Thoughts being requested. My Sister, the one who lives in NY still has a embolism in the stem of her brain that needs to be operated on. She was told that she has 6 months to 1 year if this is not done. Anyhoooo there was not one single Dr in her Healthe plan who performed the operation needed. After 2 months of making calls & writing letters...she finally got one! (omg it was HELL) She saw him the other day. So now she just has to have all these preliminary test done (again her Insurance dont cover them). Its been absolutely crazy. So more calls...etc. Jeez! I will keep you posted.

I just returned (yesterday) from a day spent go-karting with Cruisin. She took pics (sorry TW - you know I don't carry a camera!) We had a fun, FUN time and I even rode the nitro cars....that was amazing and f-a-s-t!

I just KNEW that was yesterday, but didn't want to ask, incase you both were keeping that private.

I have a Facebook question for all of you Facebook gurus.

My "home" page where I see everything that is happening with all my friends, used to have a spot down the left hand side that had boxes that showed my friends and their profile pictures.

It is still there on my "profile" page.

I don't know what I did to shut it off of the other page (which I look at all the time).

Can anybody tell me how to get my friends list back onto that Home page??

That was taken away when they upgraded months ago. On the top of your home page you should see "NEWSFEED" that will list all your friends updates. Providing they "allow friends to read them"...I notice you never update anything. So maybe in your PROFILE you are marked Private or something.
BTW My Chicago updates have stopped too on FB.

Can you all see my updates...etc? I post pretty regular (iphone accesible...makes life EZ)

That would be sad because it is the longest running thread on the Community Board and it's brought us all a lot of good friends over the years.

Betsy, we might be interested in travelling then on the Dream. We will certainly give it some thought. I love travelling with and meeting up with my threadkiller friends. Those are my most favourite cruises of all.

We have a beautiful weekend and week to come according to the weather forecast.

It's a bit windy today but the temperature is supposed to be over 60 and the sun is shining. What more can we ask for the almost middle of September.

I have no plans for today but Liz is home for the weekend. That usually brings up places to go and things that need to be done.

I also have outside work that could get done, especially with the nice weather we are having.

Here's hoping everybody else is having a nice weather day today like we are.

Hi everyone!

Well, the soup was awesome - we had our usual card game last night. I also made Bananas Foster Milkshakes (adult milkshakes with booze). They were good, but SO rich, no one could finish them.

Betsy - enjoy your day at work. Half days always go by fast. I'd love to consider a 2011 cruise, but I promised Tom we would do travel in 2010 that had NO cruising and possibly 2011. If we do cruise in 11 or 12 it will be to Alaska. But....you never know!

DU - I know you're busy, but I hope you keep posting here! We miss you. Let us know how your sister is...

Robin - I agree! I LOVE the threadkiller cruises! They are tons-o-fun! I hope you have a nice day today.

TW - can you believe your Disney trip is almost here? Tom and I are leaving in 18 days for our Thanksgiving trip and I'll be home for 2 days before I head out to Disney. I was going solo, but SWHNN is joining me....gotta love the sisters!

Kim - it's nice to have more posting on this thread, isn't it? I've missed seeing all the posts and I realize that I was part of the problem. I am trying to make sure I post more! I miss everyone!

Well, I'm off today for a bit. Tom is at the Range today. They're having their big Annual Hoo-Haa, so he'll be gone most of the day. I decided I'm headed to my favorite Mexican Restaurant for lunch, then I'm coming home to tie the flowers for my brothers cake. Tomorrow is the day. I also need to make sure everything is ready to pack & travel. Then, I'm way behind on clipping coupons, so that will be the rest of my day besides church!

That was hilarious.

I spent most of the day running around town doing errands with Liz.

It was fun.

Tonight my mom came for dinner and Liz cooked Cottage Pie. It's just a version of Shepherd's Pie but it tastes really good.

Now I am watching television programs that have been recorded for Liz to watch when she gets home.

I usually end up watching them twice.. once during the week and then when Liz comes home I watch them again with her.

I've also been working on getting the second bedroom all decorated.

Ummmm Robin, it's November now! But you're right! Kelly had a partial outdoor science olympic this morning at a sister-college and the sun was shining, the breeze was brisk, but it was hot in the buildings, so Marty & I walked outside most of the time! I HEARD it got to 71º (?) here in Chicago?!? It WAS nice!

BTW, Kelly won a Silver medal (2nd place) for her mapping skills during the science olympics. (I have NO CLUE how that's science.. ) There were 180 kids from 14 different schools (44 from her dinky school) and her school was maybe 1st, if not, then 2nd overall. One category, the egg drop, they won Gold, Silver AND Bronze! Kelly was still BEAMING this evening when we went to church. The nicest part was the WHOLE school camaraderie! They were SCREAMING when someone from her school won!

Ann, have fun at the re-wedding! I'm sure the cake will be it's normal - magnificent!

There's another gorgeous day expected here with temps in the mid 60's.

Supposed to be nice and sunshiney all week but the temps will be in the mid 50's for most of it.

But I'm not complaining that's for sure because mid 50's with sunshine feels just great.
