Betsy ~ What a relief on the good doctor's report. You're life has been so stressful lately. Glad things are looking up.

That's a tough question on the rings! People definitely try to take advantage of the elderly. I see it in my practice from time to time and it is so disheartening. Could you tell her something like you want to take them to the jeweler to get them checked to make sure the prongs are still good and to get them cleaned for her, and then just avoid getting them back to her? You should probably talk this over with your siblings to get their opinions.

If you have extra time after cleaning and bill paying, could you come to my house and clean and pay my bills? Pretty please?;)

OK:thumbsup2 ....But how far from me do you live?????
I have to be back home by five....Im making dinner for Mike....:rotfl2:

Good Morning...Just catching up!

DU - thanks for the daily laughs - always look forward to your "news"!!

Colleen - LOVE your collage & the wine label too but the collage is very very cool & so very unique!!!!!!!!

PD~ Congrats on your photo!

Betsy....:thumbsup2 on the good news!!!

Hi Robin, Cally, Sewer & all you lurkers!!!!

That's really good news Betsy....it's a scary situation to be in...I am VERY HAPPY for your negative result

Mike is doing ok, she's got a daily regimine for her first two weeks of treatment. It's really weakened her, we have to *make* her get up twice a day. She looks better than she did two days ago. We'll get an update on the 16th when she goes back for her next chemo I.V.

I like PDs idea about telling Mom you are getting the rings cleaned. I also agree that you should ask your sister's what they would do~

I am happy with my work in design class, the teacher is very good. She looks at the basic designs and knows exactly what they need to make it work. My self portrait collage is nowhere near ready - she will look at it today and tell me how she wants me to fix it. I may have to redo it completely...we will see~

Hi Brenda!

I have an idea on how to bring out the "face" in my self portrait that I will work on before class. I hope my idea works cause I really don't want to redo the whole thing. I also think it'll look better in a bigger size. I'm gonna have it printed as a 10 x 13 and see if that brings out more of the detail~

Betsy

I'm so glad to hear that you are okay.

We sure wouldn't want anything like that happening to you.

About the rings, even if noone intentionally takes the rings from your mom they are bound to "disappear" some day.

I don't have any good advice for you on how to handle the situation.

The suggestion of getting the prongs looked at is a good one.

Is your mom is a locked unit or does the home have all types of seniors mixed in together?

Betsy

No, Its really not a nursing home, Its an assisted living home. Alot less strict...and there is no Doc. on duty...Just nurses...
Its a mixed bag of elderly...Some even have there cars and come and go as they like....BUT it IS secured..the nursing station is right across from the main door...and all other doors are locked....

Betsy, it's nice that your mom is in an area with other people who can help to look after her.

Especially if those others don't mind keeping an eye out for the people like your mom and my dad.

My dad is in with all people that are in varying stages of Alzheimers. He's also in a totally locked, have to have the code to get in and out the door sort of place.

I got an email this morning from Rick saying that a man who he has worked with (from a company that orders things from ours) died last night.

I've never met the man, at least don't really remember if I did.

The guy was out working in his yard and the chain saw that he was using kicked back and hit him in the throat :guilty:

I absolutely can not imagine finding something like that. I don't think you'd ever forget seeing that.

I don't know how old he was but I hope that he didn't have children in the house at the time.

that would be great too...but i think you're going to receive a really high grade just for the thought, the originality & the whole concept of what you put together....AND HOW you did it...my first thought was this is a photo of your mind's "favorite thoughts/memories"

YIKES - :scared1: that is one of those really freaky things that no one thinks would / could happen....P&PD to his family~

Hiya Threadkillers!

Betsy - I'm so happy to hear that your tests went well. It's so hard to wait for results. Feel free to come to Florida - I'll rename my DH to Mike and you can cook and clean here....

Robin - what a shocker...P&PD to his family. I can't imagine how anyone would handle that.

PD112 - What a beautiful picture - congratulations! Now that you have those bragging rights -USE them!

TW - I noticed your face in the pic, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you do to change it.

DU - I hope all is well with you and things have settled down with your folks (BTW, I told tinknutt the "linoleum/doo-hickie" story - what a gas!)

Well, Dad is back in the hospital. His blood pressure plummeted and they're somewhat stumped. Plus he's lost 30 lbs in the last month (I think it's a combination of inactivity, pain meds & lack of appetite). Anyway, he's been in the hospital or the nursing home since the end of February. Hopefully things will smooth out for him soon. He's had enough with cancer & radiation treatments and his pelvis fractured in 3 places - he doesn't need any more!

Busy, busy - so I'll scoot for now! Take care ya'll!

 Hugs for you and Dad from me too Ann!

The teacher was walking by my computer in class when I was fixing my collage and took notice! She really liked it, loved the idea and as she was telling me how and what to fix I was able to tell her "I'm already on it!" :)

:woohoo:

AT WORK.....Crazy bizarre here!:sad2:

Good Morning everyone!...
Its suppose to go into the 60s today!:cool1:
