Good Morning all,:sunny:

It looks like its going to be a really nice day:cool1:
I have no real plans today...
I may go out and uncover some of my flowerbeds...as I see the spring flowers starting to show themselves...Might as well give them a headstart...I think I dont have to worry about frost any more as I have been hearing the peepers for the past two days....Thats the best sign of no more cold nights....well cold enough to frost anyway...;)

Went to see my mom yesterday...I brought her a choc. milkshake....I played a few games of bingo with her and then had to leave and get home to make dinner....
Ill be picking her up for our Thurs. lunch day tomorrow...Its gonna be about an hr. extra of driving ...but thats OK...It will get her out once a week...:thumbsup2

Ann,
Im so sorry to hear about your dad....Ill be keeping him in my prayers...

He and David Archileta, are my favorites....I didnt like what David Cook did this week...Christy lee Cook did pretty nicely too!...The shows starting to get interesting!:thumbsup2

Betsy, I checked Mousesavers for you for discounts...

I didn't see anything for your dates but here's the page in case you want to look into it further~

http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#discountmenu

John is home today, we have to take Mika back to the vet for him to treat a wound we found on her belly last night.

He says working isn't too bad, I see his arms aching more and him being really tired. He says his only issue is carrying stuff thru narrow areas (risking the bumping of the elbows.)

I've got homework for tonight's class to do when we get back. I am sure I will be by later~

TTFN my friends...

The doctors still say Mika is doing well. She's got antibiotics for the ****oo :lmao: (the wound ) -to help it heal and pain medz. I had to write a schedule so we could keep up with the regimen.

John reminded me the doc estimates 4 to 6 weeks before she's "back to normal."

You all are a great distraction and I thank you. I am as grateful for your help as I am to help. Betsy, I am keeping up with your travel plans and the updates on mom, DU - you too. PD and Nsalz, we'd really like to see more from yours - have y'all posted any pictures somwhere? A TR - for real?

I honestly skim TRs now for photos and then go back to the ones I have to read when I have the time. Pictures take me into the Wonderful World of Disney so easily....:cloud9:

Robin, how *is* Mom? Ann...sending more hugs for Dad...

Brenda...you go girl!!!!

BP, miss ya

All you other TKers and lurkers out there....:wizard:

Hi Threadkillers!

TW - what a nice reply....I hope your day is going well. I'm glad Mika's *ahem* boo-boo is being treated!

Hi DalPal - I hope you're having a nice day! Hiya Robin! DU - you stayin' out of trouble?

I'm somewhat frustrated with Dad....

While I realize he's in a great deal of pain, he is doing nothing to help himself. They are doing a bone scan and some blood pressure tests, but he's not eating hardly anyting and his activity level is nil. He goes to Physical Therapy twice a day for appx 45 minutes, but they don't push him because it's a nursing home. Other than that - he literally spends the rest of the time in bed. He's lost 30 lbs in 2 months...that's WAY too much!

I know he feels like we're ganging up on him regarding this (and we ARE) but we're at a loss. To make matters worse - DM feeds his weakness (she bathes or helps bathe him, fetches and totes all day). She needs to take care of herself as well.

So...I've come to a decision. I will do all I can for him, but I won't nag him about his activity level. There are two reasons - the main one is I can't help him unless he's willing to help himself. The other ons is after 80 years, he's earned the right to make his own decisions regarding his health...I may not agree with his decisions, but they're his.

Man - what a vent! Sorry about that!

The good news - I'm headed to Disney on Saturday for a day. November is the sister's trip to Disney (staying at the Grand Floridian). Tom and I are going to run away for Christmas and spend Christmas week at the Casa Monica in St. Augustine (www.casamonica.com) and then we're going on a 7-day Disney cruise in January for our 25th anniversary!

Our only summer plans is to get the kitchen tiled!

Gonna check dinner and stop blabbering!

Wow Ann....very nice agenda~

I've been lucky enough to stay at the GF. It was in May a few years ago~

For quiet beauty and Disney Magic, the GF is perfect~

Picture time!!!!

The lady with me is my friend Donna~

mY mOM HAS always BEEN 124LBS...ALWAYS! In the past 4 months she gained 22lbs! From not doing anything...but she still eats her junk food!

Ann feel free to blabber all that you want.

We are here to listen to your blabber.

That is our only purpose in life:goodvibes

Honestly that IS what we are here for.

I agree that if your dad absolutely refuses to do something, what are you going to do about it.:confused3

He's a grown man, you cannot force him to do things he does not want to do.

Of all the Disney Resorts that I have looked at I love the look of the Grand Floridian the best.

If I could pick any resort to stay in that would probably be the top of my list. Probably never happen but I can dream:cloud9:

Colleen, thanks for the pictures, as always.

DU, howwwwwwdeeeeeee :teeth:

I get to thank Donna and her Dad for that trip...

Donna's Dad took the family and Donna's son couldn't go so Donna invited me!!! :) Her Dad wouldn't let me pay for anything for myself (mealwise) I just had to buy my park tickets and get myself there :woohoo:

I count my blessings for my Disney enabling friends daily~

:goodvibes Good Morning Fellow Threadkilla's!

Still at stoopid work, awaiting my boss to show up (yet again) for my anuall review!

OIY!

Good Morning everyone:sunny:

Someone sent me this in my email, and I loved it so much I thought I'd share..
I just love this song..Its been a favorite of mine for a long time.....

Someone went to a lot of trouble to put this video together.
It is well worth the time for a couple minutes of enjoyment.
It takes a few seconds or so to load but very entertaining.
This is great.... Turn up volume, sit back and enjoy a review of 50 years of history in less than 3 minutes!
Thanks to Billy Joel and someone from Caltech with too much time on Google!

Just click on the link below. When the song starts it helps to click on

Lyrics in the lower right. Use the full screen option on the upper left if the images are too big or too small.

With a little twist...I'm going to go pick up my Mom and THEN go pick up my DGS...Go to town and have the normal day...THEN, go drop off my DGS and swing around and drop off Mom, THEN home!...

Its more driving, but I'd hate for my mom to lose her shopping day...Ill do it as long as she can go with us...;)

I hope ya all have a good day!pixiedust:

Hiya Threadkillers!

I haven't done this in a WHILE, but here is my dinner menu:

A greek salad with chicken and brown rice added to the salad (you should try rice with greek salad dressing). I found a cool recipe for greek salad & dressing I've not tried - it said to add chicken - I added the rice (Southern Living Annual Recipes 1998)

An almond, pinenut & dried appricot coffee cake. Half of the flour is crushed, toasted almonds & pinenuts. Found it on the food network. I'm hoping it's good.

After a very frustrating day - I've settled down regarding my father. I told my parents that I discussed them behind my back (even on-line) and I apologized for that and told them what I said. They (naturally) understood that it's because I love them. They are SO nice...

Unfortunately, Dad is worse rather than better. He has ANOTHER fracture on his pelvis (that makes 4 fractures) and can't keep anything down. They've given him a powerful anti-nausea drug and that's not working. His dehydration is taken care of (thanks to the IV's) but he is also anemic.

The nurse was going to speak to his primary care doc and see if he wanted to call in a GI doc or an oncologist to do some tests regarding his stomach/digestive system. We'll see.

DM is thinking of skipping the nursing/rehab facility after the hospital and keeping a sharper eye on him then he had over there...I agree. We also discussed at home he may be more mentally active, which may lead to the desire for more physical activity.

Oh, eek! I've gone and dumped on ya'll again. Thanks for letting me spew! DH is almost home and the cake is ready to come out of the oven! C-ya!
