Here's what i'm making for Christmas morning breakfast~

1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces)
8 large eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash salt
Praline Topping, recipe follows
Maple syrup

Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each. (Use any extra bread for garlic toast or bread crumbs). Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9 by 13-inch flat baking dish in 2 rows, overlapping the slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup.

Praline Topping:
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well. Makes enough for Baked French Toast Casserole.

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMy!

I am having REAL Brooklyn Bagels:thumbsup2 Salted bagel with cream Cheese & lox!:cloud9:

For Christmas morning breakfast my guys will probably want those cinnamon buns that you buy in the tube with the icing in the little bucket thing in the bottom.

Are they Pillsbury Cinnamon buns maybe:confused3

Don't know what they are called but I do know how to cook and eat them ;)

Maybe I will make them the french toast thingy though.

HUNGRY

;)

I always come home from dance classes starving and have to eat.

Kind of defeats the purpose of the exercise I suppose:rotfl2:

Its a vicious 'no win' cycle...aint it?

That video is awesome! I posted it on my MySpace bulletin the other day...

Thanks Grumpy!

Breakfast is around 7~reg toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, french toast or pancakes...I usually make whatever is requested. We could be as few as four for breakfast or as many as 11...I told my sister I need a head's up if her crew of five is showing up.

Nothing fancy, just good food~SOUNDS yummy to me!!!

I did my wrapping today...I only need special envelopes for show tickets I bought for the guys. My hubby, BIL, son and DH's best friend are all going to see Jim Norton in january. Norton is vulgar, it's a true guys night out in Atlantic City-they'll all be quite happy.
oh boy...well that means a FUN night for you & Britt or a nice relaxing one if it's just you....ohhhhh what about MIL??????:scared1: you better make plans!

Mischief.

Just because she's so cute;)

This is the exact casserole, I make every Christmas morning...Its great!..If I remember right its from the food network...:thumbsup2

I also make a sausage/ egg casserole...They are both a hit...and you can make them up the night befor and just pop them in the oven when you get up Christmas morn....:thumbsup2

For Christmas dinner this year ...Ill be making seafood lasagna, and a veg. lasagna...(My DN does not eat meat.....)
and Mike always makes hot(and I mean HOT) wings....for the few that like the spicy stuff....

Along with the assort. other cakes/cookies and Christmas junkfood...LOL

I've already figured out how to avoid MIL when I need to...

She tends to sit in one room on her rump when she is here (she's out right now, getting a job I hope.) If I need my space I always have my room, when I don't have my room I've got my sister, I've got the library, I've got shopping...you get the idea ;)

I guess I should be happy John likes to shop...he cheats, but in a good way. So far there are two boxes from Disney online here that I am not allowed to open and he said last night one more is on the way :woohoo:

John gets done work at noon today and he and I are going to finish our shopping...I have a very short list of gifts left and we need stocking stuffers.

I'd like you ALL to know I would LOVE to buy all of you presents...I thought about you all while shopping in DIsney for my family. You all mean so much to me...you also know that would be crazy expensive so I didn't really buy anyone anything. (I did bring home lots of pictures-if anyone ever sees one you really like and would like to have a print of, TELL ME!!! I will gladly print and mail you copies of pictures I've done.)

One of my best moves ever was coming onto this thread and joining in with the Threadkillers. Thank you all for being here, I wish you all a fabulous Holiday and an even greater New Year :grouphug:
