I forgot to buy BACON!!

My guests are here....they are at Target Christmas shopping. I hope they aren't buying me anything. I didn't think we were going to exchange gifts. :confused3

I made Lumpia...(Filipino egg rolls) They are delish...(DU ;) )

I love the jungle book... Dante likes it too:thumbsup2

Oh yea, my SIL was telling me this morning how her older sister (my other SIL ) put $500 in her bank account to buy gifts for everyone

How generous... I only sent a card :headache:

I'm just a slacker this year

what's in your egg rolls? I really like both Jungle books - animated AND the one with Brandon Lee...he is SOOOOOOO cute!!!
;)

Hi all.

I've been helping my mom get things ready for Christmas dinner tomorrow.

It is her first Christmas alone without my dad to help her so I thought I'd go and give her a hand.

Cally, you are going to play Mary Poppins until those boys LEARN to like it :rotfl:

I hope they are really quick learners ;)

The only Disney Resort that I have ever stayed at is the POP Century, so any of them would be new to me:thumbsup2

One of the neighbours is having a party tonight that we were invited to. I just asked Rick if he was going and he said that he had no interest in it. I DO have an interest for some weird reason, so I guess I will go over for a bit.

He said to bring him back a plate:confused3 I said, no way buddy, you want anything you go and get it yourself:rotfl2:

He was just kidding though.

We had a major snow meltage day today. After those piles of snow we had on the weekend, I can now see a lot of the grass again:thumbsup2

I have bacon, I'll be right over with it ;)

MIL made potato salad, DH made stew, I finally finished my Christmas shopping and half of it left to wrap.

Hope things are going ok for ya Cally...don't forget to stop and enjoy yourself from time to time this weekend.

A message from Ann:

All is well here – just incredibly busy! I think of everyone on the DisBoards often and I promise nothing is wrong!

My computer is acting up and I’m not able to reply on the Dis, so I’ll send this before the machine gives out on me!

Merry Christmas!

Ann

Miss you and Wish You ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Good morning fellow TKers:wave:

Sorry I have not been on...
I have been a very busy girl!:car:.
My sister came and got my mother:teeth:...and I have been hopping since...

The recipes:

Breakfast Casserole Recipe Courtesy of Emeril Lagasse
Show: The Essence of Emeril
Episode: Eggs

6 eggs
1 cup half and half
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
Salt and pepper
Butter to grease pan
6 slices of Texas Toast (thick cut, crusty white bread)
1 pound spicy pork sausage, cooked and drained of fat
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

In a small bowl, beat the eggs until they loosen up. Add the half and half, and green onions. Mix well, highly season with salt and pepper and set aside.
Butter a 12 by 10-inch baking pan. Line the pan with the bread, cutting and rearranging, if needed. Sprinkle the bread with the cooked sausage and cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the entire pan. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook covered for 25 to 30 minutes or until the egg mixture is set.

I will go get the frenchtoast one now....:teleport:

Baked French Toast Casserole
with Maple Syrup Recipe courtesy Paula Deen

1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces)
8 large eggs
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash salt
Praline Topping, recipe follows
Maple syrup

Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each. (Use any extra bread for garlic toast or bread crumbs). Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9 by 13-inch flat baking dish in 2 rows, overlapping the slices. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup.

Praline Topping:
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well. Makes enough for Baked French Toast Casserole.

We have the same kind of weather Betsy.

Earlier it was very very warm and it poured like crazy (or so I'm told because I was sleeping thru it ;) )

It's getting colder now and we have wind warnings.

I just checked and it was about 46 first thing this morning and now it is 30:eek:

I was outside earlier and it actually wasn't too bad.
