Divorce? Are you serious? I'm sorry if it's so. My parents still aren't divorced yet. I'm not sure what's going on with them. I really don't care to know anymore.

Sorry DU I saw the post about your mom's surgery tomorrow after I posted mine.

It's taking a long time for posts to go thru here.

Cally

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Callllllllllllllllllllly. They are 78 & 79...housebound with a host of medical problems! They are more  then divorce people.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Anyyyyyyyyyyyyyhoo! :flower3: with your parents!:grouphug:

Did you want to go with your Daddy instead of your Mommy??
NEITHER! I WANT my old life back!

How on earth do you keep track of whether she is eating or drinking anything :scared:
She will be home afterwards, they aint keepin her. Aint I lucky! I wonder what they do with old people who dont have anyone?????:confused3

Actually I meant the night before the surgery.

I'm guessing that she is not supposed to eat or drink anything after midnight the day before her surgery?

How do you monitor that successfully??

Sorry I forgot that question Cally.

I probably won't pack until the day before we leave. I never pack very far ahead of time anymore.

Maybe you could drop the boys off, :scratchin ..... how about mid June:thumbsup2

I've heard of Soft Paws, isn't that the cover that you put over their claws so they can't scratch things??
I was thinking of getting some for Nala. I just hope they don't hurt her or cause her irritation. There's a thread about de-clawing. I asked if the nail retracts back into the paw after you put on the covers..but I didn't get an answer. Does anyone know? :confused3

Okay, where's the PUNCH smilie! :lmao:

I guess I just figured divorce at any age was possible. I mean I never thought my OLD parents would divorce.

I'm not sure about the cover Cally but I found a website for them.

Maybe you can find your answers there.

http://www.softpaws.com/

My Mischief needs these. She's a horrible furniture scratcher :sad2:

I think DU is saying that his parents don't really know what they are talking about anymore.

Toward the end of his time at home with my mom, my dad was saying that they were going to get a divorce too:confused3 Not sure how he got that idea but he said it all the time.

Cally , web site says they won't interefere with normal function of the claws.

Ahhh, I got cha! ;) In my 32 years of life my parents have NEVER known what they were talking about. :rotfl2:

Thanks for the website!

I need something to cover up her nails so I can give her a bath. The last time I gave her one did not go well. :scared:

Cally, why do you need to give Nala a bath?

I have only ever bathed Subway once in 15 years and that was when he came home absolutely caked in mud:confused3

I have no idea where he was unless he fell into the creek and had to haul himself out, up the muddy bank.

He was so thick with mud there was no way we could leave him like that.

Other than that I have never felt the need to bath a cat before.

Because she stinks  No seriously, her fur is really long and sometimes after she uses the bathroom she makes a mess. She cleans her self up pretty good but I just thought she'd be refreshed if she got a good cleaning once in a while.

I've only given her a bath 2 times. I don't really need to give her a bath. :teeth:

So how did Subway take it when you gave him a bath? Did he scream bloody murder? :rotfl2:

My gosh the boards are really running slow these days.

Subway was not really impressed with his bath;)

He made an awful lot of noise and scared poor Mischief half to death.

I think she thought we were performing surgery without any anethestic on poor Subway.:rotfl:

We had shut the bathroom door so that he couldn't get away and she couldn't get in.

:rotfl: :rotfl: That made me laugh!!! I can just imagine poor Mischief freaking out.

They do make some strange noises when they aren't happy. :scared:

:lmao:

DU, you have your sense of humor and brains toboot for a reason, God gave them to you for days like today...well, every day ....

please do not declaw Nala :cat:

Try the mittens if its only to bathe her, catclaws are deadly when mixed with water ::yes::

If any of you have scratching issues, GIVE them something to scratch! We have an old steel cable/wooden spool for the cat to scratch. We've rarely if ever have had furniture scratched by the cat(s.)

My cat has at least 5 scratching posts of different designs and materials, placed in various places in the house.

Yes she scratches on them all the time but she still scratches the furniture too:confused3

Makes no difference to her.

I would never declaw her but it gets annoying after awhile.

my secondary deterrant is a water bottle

they work wonders ::yes::

the cat is now pavlovianly trained, she runs when I show her the bottle :rolleyes1

Morning!:surfweb:

Colleen, I'm like Robin. We have a few scratching posts for Nala. She loves to tear them up! We've all ready had to replace some.

I'm not going to declaw her. Although she does love to scratch the furniture. Our furniture is all ready messed up as it is so she might as well have at it. She also likes to scratch the carpet but she has not done any damage to to.

The problem is not with the scratching of things. It was mainly just for protection for me when I try to bath her. Which doesn't happen often. I was just curious how these Soft Paw's work.

It looks like a manicure for a cat. :rotfl2:
