I've been having a bit of trouble with my internet tody and getting on to the DISboards.

I managed to get caught up and hopefully this will post.

Morning all...been up for awhile...ready to go to Santana Row (shopping area of San Jose)...just waiting for friend Michelle....we are only shopping a couple of hours - then mtg up with another friend & DD for lunch & then 4 of us have spa appts at Burke Williams this afternoon....

Hiya Threadkillers!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving (and you had a great day, Robin). I'm happy to say that mine went well. Since I tried 4 new recipes I have to say I'm very pleased with the way they turned out...I was a' sweatin'! From what I read everyone was having a bunch of yummy stuff!

I hope those of you who went shopping that you had lots of success and you didn't get trampled or do any trampling! I would rather poke myself in the eye with a stick than go shopping the day after Thanksgiving!

DH and I did our traditional mailing of Christmas cards and went out to breakfast. I've completed my on-line Christmas shopping (I am now OFFICIALLY done with shopping and wrapping) and I'm going to get another fountain soda and read for a bit.

Tonight, we're headed to SWHNN's house for karaoke, hot-wings and beer! It looks like the whole gang will be there - how cool is that!?

DU - I'm also Irish so I would say potatoes AND bread for me. However my personal "no meal is complete without it" is sliced tomatoes. DH and I have tomatoes with just about every meal....don't ask why, 'cause I don't know! My holiday "no meal is complete without it" is scratch macaroni & cheese...that's the southerner in me!

CADZ - Thanks ever so much for the recipe...I can't tell you how pleased I am to have it and will take very good care of it! I can't wait to try it.

No, I never went shopping...I'm still home recouping from yesterday...I got video and camera crap all over my desk I gotta clean up...started putting a few items together for my trip in two weeks

DU, I have a question for you bud...How's your Helio? Is it worth having? How's your reception and internet accessability? I have found the only thing I miss about my blackberry is having internet access no matter where I was. I still am looking at laptops...like I said, if DS has it, I know I can borrow it.

I went shopping today but it is not at all like the shopping you guys would have done today.

It is just a regular shopping day.

I managed to get a few things picked up, even something that was on sale and I figured that I would not be able to get.

I just made my final (and only) ADRs for our trip...

I got us into the Turf Club at SSR for a Friday night dinner with a cruising friend and her son. They fly in that night and are staying at SSR. I know how tired they will be so I made it easy for them, if they are able to, to join us.

Thursday is our Epcot day. I tried to get Tepan Edo for 8pm ish, their first opening was for 915. My second choice was Rose and Crown, I got that for 8pm on the button. DS and I have eaten in Canada, Norway and Germany-these two are at the top of my list for fireworks seating, so I went that route in choosing where we'd eat.

Rose will have her sisters with her and literally has her own agenda for the week. I overbooked the count jic she and her sisters wanna join us-this way they can. It's easier to lessen the count than it is to increas IMHO.

Based on our experience with the Sony Vaio I wouldn't recommend it. We've had so many problems with the hard drive and it over heating.

Roger's cousin had a Vaio and it did the same thing

I think maybe an Apple is the way to go! I think if or when I get another laptop it will be a Mac/Apple.

wow Cally, I'm glad you said something...I've always thought Vaio was a good laptop to have...

with the programs for video and graphic arts like it does the Apple is absolutely what I want...finding a good price on one'll be my challenge~

So we went to Cox to exchange the DVR box but it was closed!!! I guess they are all out shopping.

AND they won't be open til Monday.... ugh!!

BUT when we got back home we hooked it up and it was working just fine!


We know for a fact that it wasn't any of the cables or wiring because we checked it and double checked it and triple checked it.

Oh well...at least it's working now

We had homemade mac and cheese too. That was a first for us this Thanksgiving, but my DD(16) literally does not like any of the traditional Thanksgiving foods. I makde a recipe in the crockpot so I wouldn't need to use the oven for anything else. My extended family was like mac and cheese? I told them that the mac and cheese is a staple for SOuthern Thanksgiving! I learned that her on the DIS! It was so popular that I think it is now going to be a traditional dish at the Pixie Dust Thanksgiving celebrations!

Let me know how the Turf club is. We've thought about running over there sometime. WOuld love to hear your opinion! SSR itself disappoints me a bit as I used to live and work in Saratoga SPrings and I just don't find it to be a good reproduction of the real thing! The real Saratoga Springs is better. I absoloutely love the real Saratoga!

Hi ya Tker's....what a great day i had...no HUGE purchases like plasma's or the like...but got some great shirts, belt & jewelry for fractions of the cost...AND a great time at the spa....the crowds were minimal at Santana Row, but across the street at Valley Fair....YIKES...that's the kind of crowds i just can't handle....

Now...the outlets opened here last night at midnight...you could shop till 4 then head over to Kohls & shop there till 5...then something else opened at 5 (i can't even remember) then at 6 Target opened....i just couldn't do any of that.....

Tomorrow i have to have the car at the dealership by 10;30 (about 1.5 - 2 hrs drive) depending on traffic....trying to talk DH into going with me....then we have that 2nd TG dnr / niece's BD party at 3.....

Sunday - i'm doing nothing - maybe go see Enchanted.....but don't think DS will go...so maybe DD....see what she's got going on....Anyone seen it yet?
