BTW, your daughter has a pretty blue eye

Well actually I think that she played around with it and coloured it so brightly blue herself. It is not really that colour. She likes to mess around with that type of stuff.

I'm dreading that..i'm scared for the teenage years to hit.. i don't know what to expect...

Well the good thing about it is that you grow into it ;)

It just sort of follows along naturally.

The teenage years have been fairly uneventful in this house.

My son was no trouble at all. He has always been a really steady solid kind of kid. He doesn't follow any crowd and makes up his own mind. He is kind of like a 20 year old in a 65 year old body:p

Now my daughter has been a little more difficult. She is moody and mouthy sometimes and can snap at you without any prior notice. But really it hasn't been all that bad either.

So don't worry too much about those teenage years. Just talk lots to them now. Get them used to talking to you about anything and everything and you will be just fine.

I hope so...cuz if it goes anything the way my teenage years went.....yikes...... LOL... but I guess I turned out okay.... I think it's mostly the stuff I didn't tell my parents that I was doing... so I will take that advice and make sure they can tell me any and everything...

gotta run upstairs for some ice and water......... you guys made me thirsty. ::yes::

/
Got the water and the ice and discovered my husband out of bed and watching tv  . He is an early to bed guy and I didn't hear him get up so I was kind of surprised. I thought the kids had left the livingroom light on when they went to bed but nope, it wasn't that.

The only problem with drinking this glass of water will be how many times I have to get up in the night

As of right now there are no big plans for my son's birthday. It is on Thursday night. That is the night that I have my dance classes. If I miss a night I get behind and have trouble catching up. We might celebrate on Wednesday or Friday instead. My son's girlfriend has her birthday also on Thursday night. Weird huh. I said they just have to get married on Nov 18 and then he only has to remember one date ;)

Turning 21 here is not the same as it is in most of the US. 19 is the legal drinking age here in Ontario, so 21 is just another year :p My son is not a drinker anyway, so it didn't really make much difference to him. Now my neighbours son, that was a different story :earseek:

Did you give up on us and go to bed Kim???

I hope that you feel better soon. You have been sick much too long ::yes::

According to mapquest ............. 5 hrs 32 minutes from Chicago, IL to Chatham, Ontario.

I didn't know that the legal drinking age was 19 there...sheesh...that's great that he's not a drinker.... I remember when I was that age....:teeth:

Yes we have been very lucky so far. Neither of our kids are drinkers, smokers, stay out all night or get into trouble with the police.

I hope they stay that way!

well you have done a great job...if it has not happened yet then most likely it won't..

I'm getting really sleeply....I think I should go to bed. We are going Christmas shopping tomorrow ..hope I wake up.. LOL.. It was fun chatting w/ you. Night :D

Happy Saturday everyone. It will be a chilly one here and I have lots of things to do, so I best get up and moving. ::yes::

Good morning everyone!

PrincessaC - you have some really cute boys! They looked like they were having a great time! I'm with Cruisin - enjoy them while they're young!

Kim - feeling better? I hope so. DH still has the sinus crud....he bought some meds today. Poor guy.

Cruisin - ya'll were up LATE last night! I just couldn't hang on. Actually, I could have, but I knew I had to get up this AM.

Well, no surprise, we had a lovely b'fast out. One of our favorite things to do. It's cloudy here today and we're going to visit my folks. After that, we're just going to hang around the house til church tonight. Inbetween, I hope to get some christmas cards started. At least cleaning up my list. I have a very specific way I do them...........every year.

Start with re-reading all the old cards,

double check the addresses, enter them in the computer,

write the annual Christmas letter, edit, spell check & look at it with hubby, go to the print shop and get it printed,

print the address labels, pull out the cards, start signing, seal, put stamps & stickers on.

The day after Thanksgiving, go to the post office as soon as it opens and mail them.....then go to Starbucks for a Hot Apple Cider with DH as a reward for all the hard work!

Of course, this can never be done in one day! Well, I've got to get my day started. Ya'll take care!

Ann, it sounds like you put a lot of thought and work into your Christmas Cards.

I, on the other hand send out very few. Usually only to the relatives overseas, maybe a few people here but not many. I am slowly getting back into it again after not bothering much for the last few years.

By the way ............. anybody who wants a Christmas card just PM your address and I will put you on my growing list. ::yes::

Only a few? Last year I whittled my list down to 118 cards! I think a lot of that is meeting & keeping friends from the military. You move every 2 or three years and keep in contact with a lot of them! At one point, DH and I had a list that was almost triple the current tally!

Quiet day today - thinking of taking a nap!
