Happy Monday TKers!

I worked late last Friday night, so I got to DIS late...late for me anyway.

:scratchin I wonder what your record late night is?
You guys were on at 2:45 in the am! :scared:

I still do not have the internet at home. I'll probably purchase webtv for my house, just not til after we get back from WDW, Merry Christmas to me;)...only 2 more weeks, I gotta get packing!
:hyper:

DD and me went to the mall Friday night and had McDonalds and Milkshakes...she's more into McD's than Sbarro's.::yes::

I got me a new Mickey Nightshirt! Only $7.99 on the clearance rack! DD likes a group called CKY & had to have their 4 disc set. Whatever makes her happy~I actually like CKY.

PC-You have photos! Yay! I love looking at photos
~You have such cute boys!~ I agree with the others when they say keep communication open. Communication is Key!
(I'll tell you a secret a Mom of 6 told me once...traveling in the car is a great time to talk to them. It can be great one on one time and, get this, they can't run away on you!JMHO)

I see you were at the Poly-did you eat dinner at O'Hana's? Any reviews would be greatly appreciated...I have PS for our first night's dinner and need to know if the $25 per person is worth it.:confused3

CK: Would you like to post a photo of the rest of your daughter? Maybe both your of kids (eyes)? It's cool your DS' gf has the same birthday-same year too? Got any photos of her (eyes)?
You got lucky with the weather for your trip, we're havin a heat wave! It was 56 today!

Kim: :wizard: ~Prayers & Pixie Dust for your DBIL~

BP: Hi again! You know, children's books are a huge market right now~I am lucky to have such beautiful stories to read, keep em coming sir~:worship:

Anybody know any medicine men that could maybe exorcise these germs from the TKers? Either that, or you all will have to stop spitting soda and coughing all over this thread! LOL.:rotfl:

TW: That was a good one! No diet soda up my nose - I left the soda in the kitchen, but it was close!

Kim - best-o-luck to your BIL. If it'll help, my dad had a quintuple (sp?) bypass about 20 years ago. He felt much better almost immediately. He was finally getting enough blood through his body that had been starved for years. He'll be in our prayers. Now for you - young lady........when are you going to see the doctor? Please get better soon! Thanks for the hugs - I felt you'd understand exactly wha I mean. Hugs right back atcha!

BP - I've said it before, I'll say it again. You, my friend, have a gift. Not only for story telling, but for saying the right thing at the right time. Thanks, my friend.

PrincessaC - no frost here, although it's only in the high 60's. I have on jeans, a long sleeved shirt and I'm even wearing socks! It's a lovely day, though........lots of sunshine.

Cruisin - we miss you! Hope you're having a great time and you get the chance to check in with us.

Well, good news all around today! We visited Dad and he's doing MUCH better. His doc took him off the Percocet.....it was making him really woozy and goofy. They figured that's why he fell. His back is fine and he's much more bright eyed & bushy tailed today.

Second good news - I went to the movies! One of my all time favorite things to do! (besides napping & b'fast, of course!) I saw "The Incredibles". Let me say this - Pixar & Disney hit a home run with this one! I laughed out loud a lot and once.....you know how you're laughing hard and trying to hold it in and you snort?! Well, it wasn't a lurker doing that - it was me! Had a great time. Indulged in popcorn and it was yummy!

Anyway, I've got to scoot. I've got to post on the WISH board!

Kim, I have to tell you, I didn't lose any weight for the Thanksgiving challenge, but I didn't gain, either! I'm thrilled.....we've been traveling and hospital visiting SO much, that it was really hard to be a good girl and eat right, but I managed it! Not exercising stopped me from losing, but I walked 3 miles today! SHE'S BACK!

Take care TK's - C-ya!

Good afternoon TK-ers & Lurkers alike!

Hi Kim!

Sending best wishes.....thinking good thoughts.....saying prayers that the heart by-pass surgery for your DBIL goes well.....

54? dang...that's kind of young...

Hey HollyAnn! :cool1:

Just want to say.....thinking about your Dad today... hopefully....everyhn went well here too...and he is feeling OK....

random thought: If Cruisin' :boat: went to Philly...I think she should have tossed me some cookies on the way....there and back...

Hey LuckyMommyx2!

My football leagues did good.....and...I kicked some major butt in the Pick 'Em....FINALLY....

aaaaah....about time....

random thought: Either on the way to or from Philly.... Crusin' ! :boat: could have pulled over somewhere in Western PA...and done a rousing rendition of exotic tap dancing....

Hello TiggerWannaBE!! :wave2:

You and our DD went to the Mall....Mickey D's....

and?

Dang.....I must be the only one here a mall hates...

Aaaaaw....another nice compliment....thank you! :cloud9:

You read them to your kids? Wow! :cool1:

I'm flattered!

PSSST! Hey Lurkers!

It's Monday for cryin' out loud....

where's the squirrel Mcnuggets?

I brought some horseradish dip....

We must have been on at the same time, BP......my post went up only 120 seconds before yours did! Thanks for the lovely thoughts!

HollyAnn....

I think we posted at he EXACT same time.... but....I'm about 1200 mles away from WDW....so...mine took longer to get there....

Random thought: that's a long ride to Philly.....

I wonder if Cruisin' ! :boat: is practicing her juggling......

Kim!

Hope you are feeling better....and with no leftover pot roast....somebody had to cook tonight....

I'll wait for a menu report before I ask....

so....I started my Christmas shopping today....

step 1 is now complete....

oh.....you don't now my methods of operations...

Step 1. Drive by a store....any store...

OK!!

Step 2 will be done sometime in mid-December....

Step 2. Drive by a store....any store...with a bouquet of coupons.....any coupons...

WHEW! like they say.....the first step starts the journey....

Thanks PC!

TWB, when I saw CKY, I 'read' KC, as in KC and the sunshine band....now that oughta 'date' me! Good tip on the car-talk, I always 'trap' my kids during that time, too. :teeth: Thanks for the P&PD, too. Good one on the spitting and coughing! :p I can honestly say I haven't spit anything, but coughing, that's my middle name. :o Maybe I should wear a mask? ;)

Ann, thanks for the prayers, good wishes, and hugs. It really means a lot to me. So glad to hear how well your Dad has improved! What a relief, huh? Continued prayers for a full and successful recovery. Glad you enjoyed the movie, too. I'll bet just getting away from it all, was very good for you right now. ;) As for the Challenge Ann, I think I met my goal this week, thanks to being sick, but my exercising has been non-existant since last Tuesday. :( Huge Congrats on staying the same during trying times! That's really great! I know how hard it is (I lost 4.5 and gained 1 back during DMIL's hospital stay & death). Dr.? More on that later. ;)

BP, thank you also for wishes, thoughts, and prayers! You're all so kind. And BP, I agree with you 100%, CK should have flung some cookies from the car window as she passed by, there and back, just for you being so good in her absence. ::yes:: ;) But BP, the only thing WORSE than squirrel McNuggets imo, is horseradish dip! :crazy2: As for your very involved shopping methods....ya know you could be done by now! ;)

Ok, so Ann asked about the Dr., and mamajoan PMd me late last night to TELL me to GO (I think she was lurking)! So, I took DD first thing, 8:35 to the sick kids walk in, or so I remembered the first 1/2 hour being walk-ins. Well, no other patients were there, and I got the 'attitude' of course, even though I immediately asked for a later appointment, I'd bring her back. No, no, she'll get me in, but I get the 'tude with that honor. Anyway, DD apparently has the last stages of the flu, which I suspected, but Joan told me to rule out anything else, so I did. From there we went right to the immediate care center, where I was NOT seen, because  , brainless Mommy lately, forgot her insurance card. WHY I didn't just think to pay cash, I'll never know. I was working on a 101º temp., maybe that's why. By the time my husband came home with the card, I was just NOT going back out. Anyway, I have the same thing as DD, only more intense, and today I finally did NOT have a fever for several hours, and was again able to make dinner (you wouldn't want it BP, store bought beef tips, made in the microwave), while DD & I ate other stuff again. It's only just now that I'm feeling kinda warm again, but it's been over 10 hours since I took Motrin, so this is a GOOD sign! ::yes:: I HAVE to go to work tomorrow, even if for only a short time, so I'm hoping I wake up tomorrow fever-free!!

Bad, sad news: I found out today that my closest, dearest cousin, who Kelly & I spent so much time with this summer, and last summer, and the other 'Mommy' I meet for dinner with about once a month, might have MS. She's 38 with 3 kids. A neurologist already said MS, but she was having a spinal done today to see what those results would show, and her DH has already said that no matter what, they're getting 2nd opinions on everything. Wow, typing that was almost as hard as saying it out loud. :sad1: She is my DSs Godmother as well.

I know I've tapped you all out lately with requests, but if there's anything remaining in the P&PD well, I'd deeply appreciate it. :grouphug: Thank you ALL!!!

Our wells run deep here for one another....

some PD....
~+*~~*+~~*~~

loads of good thoughts....tons of Best Wishes....

and the most fevent of prayers for your Dear Cousin!

including some for your getting better too Kim....

aaaaah...what's a guy gotta do around here for free food?

hmmmm....noo-ooooo....not that...

Kim's got a window bigger than an ocean liner if i remember right.....

hmmmmmm......maybe a little butterin' up....

have I told you guys how charming you all are? How witty?

hmmmm....nothing so far....

so....

I am open to being adopted....of course....you might get some odd looks snce I'm older than you. ....but....i am housebroken....

oh....and I need weekends off....

so....

I'll need my beakfasts,
lunches and suppers packed by 3 on Fridays....

the line starts on the right....

Kim.....how could I be done shopping now?

WS didn't call yet....she'll call on or about December 20th....

I'll get motivaed then....

of course....I'll get a lot of shopping done @ WDW....

she's seen me shop....

Thanks BP! Both sides of my families seem to be in the need of late. :( Any and ALL help is greatly appreciated.

You've already charmed me, and many more here, I'm sure! ;) And, I'd adopt ya in a heartbeat, but I wonder how much longer this statement would hold true......:scratchin

Now how did WS get dragged into YOUR C'mas shopping?! Are you saying that she 'saves' her Daddy every year, and does it for you?! :sad2: Really, that's not sooo bad, I've 'saved' my Dad a couple times as well. ;)

 pops up from lurkdom...
:thewave: KIM went to the Doctor! YAY!!!
I must say I have special powers that beamed her there! LOL

I am glad you went dearie.... I am also glad they ruled out all the other stuff it may have been....
Did you go to a
Doc in the Box?? you know one of those general urgent care places? mamajoan is not a fan of the Doc in the boxes..but they are better than no doc at all.
Did they at least give you something for the cough? Like I should talk.. Kim knows I had the same cough for 8 weeks.. no meds for me either... tough old birds are we!

Citrus chicken, potatoes and spinach for dinner here at the ranch.
Ya.. we eat such a balanced meal it is crazy... The kids friends always ask... So does your mom always make sure that all the food groups are represented? LOL.... Jake and Cam just shake their heads ... and say. "but she also makes killer desserts" Yay for mj

Sorry about the MS dx for your cousin. Hopefully she can be helped by some of the new meds out that help delay symptoms.
I agree.. they should get 2nd opinions from a good neurologist..one who specializes in discease processes.

Well, lookie here! MJ comes out of lurkerdom, but I'm afraid for the wrong reasons:

Sorry I teased you Joan, I just know I have the same stuff as Kelly, only worse, and mine started before hers. :( So, no meds for either of us. Flu = no 'scrips. But Thanks Mama, we did go to ONE doctor today. ;)

I'm gonna take some Motrin in a few minutes, and I'm off to ni-ni land. :cat: Gonna try that 'work thing' again in the morning. :p

Morning TK'ers!! Today's the first day in over a week that I haven't had to run to a lesson or rehersal so I may actually be back later today as well.

BP...I did the best I could but my opponent did a little better. I haven't checked the standings...afraid to look! Congrats on up pick 'em though. At least one of us is kicking some butt!

Kim...sorry to hear about your cousin but please realize that MS isn't the same it was even 5-10 yrs ago. I have had MS for several years now and you would never know. I've been on one of the "newer" drugs ever since I was diagnosed which is very important, IMO. If you ever need to talk or have questions please feel free to PM me. Big HUGS to ya'

 Morning TK'ers!!!

Brer_Papa: You and our DD went to the Mall....Mickey D's....

and?

Does this mean I need lessons in story telling?...

Do you know where you are staying at the FWcampsite-
or as they say at the Lodge, "What Loop?"

Hey BP! You shop like me, last minute and late...Not sure how far you are but we go to the Franklin Mills area to Christmas shop. They offer many shops that stay open very late, all on the same strip. (DH & Me wind up there every year, the week before Christmas.lol.)

I plan on doing some holiday shopping on our upcoming trip to the World. There's a bonus to driving down & back, more space to carry home gifts than any airplane could offer~

KimRaye: I like KC & the sunshine band-& I'll date myself by saying I was in grade school when they were popular. I had Scott Baio and Leaf Garrett hanging on my wall with KC!:duck:

LuckyMommy said what I was thinking about your cousins' MS dx...good doctors, a supportive family and proper maintenence can make a world of difference in how MS can affect a person. P & PD again to you and yours...

If your family doesn't recover soon, I'll be shipping some hospital masks your way! :duck:

Mamajoan: Dinner at our house tends to be overly balanced but always good.;) My DH is the Chef of the household. Last night we had Roast Beef & Carrots, homemade stuffing with a side of steamed cauliflower and broccoli in cheese sauce.
Our desserts are usually cookies, brownies, cake or ice cream. DD likes to bake so of course we encourage it.
There's no dieting in my house:yo-yo:

Good Morning everyone:sunny:
It looks like another sunny day here today!........Yesterday was very nice here also.......My DH took a half of a day off of work and we walked in the state park we live behind...It was very nice, There are three waterfalls and this time of year theres not a soul around..........Saw two bucks, and a doe!

Kim,
Ps&PD from Me also...:wave: ::yes::

Major colds going around my familys.....Ive been wiping noses all weekend...Oldest DGD stayed on my couch all Sunday........I just hope my DM doesnt catch it all.......Its hard for her to get rid of them ounce she get them....Because of her age....and its hard to keep the DGKs away from her because they just love her so much and she them.....I find myself guarding her door....Its crazy:crazy:

BP,.......I see you gave us another great writing!...Im going to print them all out....make a book ...Title: "The GREAT writings of Brer_Papa" :teeth: If you are shy (and we all know you are) You could write under a different "pen name" Like .....Oh I dont know.........ANY .........name......like "Santa"...maybe....::yes::

Your Christmas shopping sounds alot like the way my DH use to be...Only he would wait until the last min. and then wander around aimlessly hoping something will jump off the store counter into his cart....He'd consider this a sign that it must be the perfect gift. but not anymore, with all the DGKs we buy for, we try to start around Aug. and get one or two a month....It spreads out the cost.

By the way I went out last night to look at the stars.....It was really quiet...But faintly I heard tapping whispering through the trees....I wonder if it could have been.....:scratchin .......(it WAS coming from the west)...Is there such a thing as exotic tap dancing by moonlight?

Well I am staying home today to get some work done......Tonight I have to go to the hosp. to visit my BIL....He had hip replacment surgery a month ago and the wound infected on the inside, So he had to have it opened up again....Luckly it didnt get into the bone....from what I hear that could have been bad news... as it is he will have to have an IV for at least a month...

Well thoses are the big plans of the day......and evening!

I went and saw the Incredables last night....very funny!.....Its not a dont miss...but I enjoyed it.
Have a good day all:wave2:
Betsy

Is there such a thing as exotic tap dancing by moonlight?

I have heard of "Full moon tap dancing", but that is another thing all together!...
and :scratchin I dont think Cruisin' would do THAT kind of Tap dancing. .

:scratchin ............:bitelip: although you DID say EXOTIC!::yes::

Howdy Thread Killers,
Just stopped by to drop a note to my DF, Brer_Papa:

I have a surprise for you, and I'll give you a hint. It came to me from another regular on the thread killers. And just to make sure you figure it out I will tell you that it came from the north;) . Since to go any further north from me you'd have to leave the country I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Hey thread killers, I am back.

Just got home here around 1 or so and have spent most of the afternoon catching up on the goings on while I have been gone.

Lots happening here, I see.

I made 2 pages (small ones) of notes that I have to make reply comments to, so get ready I will have a few posts to send out to you in a bit.

Hi WishingStar! So glad you could drop by!
Hi Cruisin! Welcome back!
Kim - hugs and prayers all around!
Luckymommyx2 - sounds like you'll be a wonderful, strong sounding board for Kim. All the best to you, too....BTW, did you see the Steelers play?
DalPal - Howdy! Hope your BIL is well?
BP - You behaving? Tell us what the surprise is....if you guess it!

I've been busy, busy, busy! Walked 3 miles, went to b'fast with DH (surprised?), shopped at our local bulk store. Now I have to hit the post office, Office Max & Publix.........all before dinner!

Take care!

 WishingStar, nice to have you stop by and visit us. Hmmm, I wonder what that surprise is for Brer_Papa :teeth:

Hi Hollyann. I am glad to be back, I missed you guys while I was gone. Wow, that is scary with your dad falling like that. I am glad that it turned out okay in the end.

:( sorry you had to feel so bad when you found that card from your MIL.

:wave2: Dalpal, Full moon dancing ....me.... unh, no thanks!!! That would just be wrong :faint: As I was driving through what I thought to be your part of PA I had a good look around. Very nice country ::yes::

TW  , I have posted pictures of my kids in the past but I will post some again for you to see. I have tons, and tons of pictures of my daughter's eyes, nose, lips etc.  For some reason she takes them all of the time with the digital camera. She is an artist and uses them to copy from. She can draw really good eyes ::yes::

Kim, I hope you and Kelly are feeling better. I hope your brother in law has come through his surgery fine. My dad had a triple bypass when he was 51. He has had a second one a few years back too. He came through both of them very well. Although this last one hasn't seemed to work as well as the first one. He got 15 years out of the first surgery.

Sorry to hear about your cousin too Kim. Boy you sure are going through a bad stretch aren't you. Well there is nowhere else to go but up from here right :sunny:

Brer_Papa, my dear old friend, you need to start to harness that writing talent of yours for something other than our benefit. Not that we don't love to read your stories but I think you could go far if you wanted to. Those were great poems, I loved them. This entire thread is full of great Brer_Papa stories for anyone who has the time or inclination to go back quite a ways and start reading.

I never drove close enough to you Brer_Papa to throw any cookies out for you. Unfortunately my pitching arm is not that good. Now maybe I could have thrown them close enough for Dalpal to get them ;)

I did no juggling or exotic tap dancing on my entire trip. I did go over some dance steps in my head as we were driving along though :teeth:

BP, I hear that you behaved very nicely while I was away. I don't understand ........ .......... who is it that they think eggs you on and causes all of the trouble   :smooth:

Okay a question for anybody in the Philadelphia area?????? While we were there, we stayed in a motel near the International Airport, there was this siren that kept going off??? It sounded like an air raid siren  It was going off at night and also the next day I heard it quite a few times:confused: Does anybody have any idea what it is????? Nobody seemed to even notice that it was there, so I guess it wasn't anything really bad.

Anyways, glad to be back.

Welcome back Cruisin!:wave2:

I just asked one of my Philly guys about the siren,
he said it's probably the cops & the fire engines in the south philly projects..no lie!

I'll have to tell my DD of your DD's photos trick. I think it's a GREAT idea to do a close up shot & draw from that...every time my kids get stuck on a drawing project I just repeat to them, "draw what you see."

To MY B,S,F,COTOB,OIAWO,DD WishingStar....

Oh...for those of you who do not have the secret decoder screens....

TO MY Beautiful, Smart, Funny, Chip Off The Old Block, Once In A While Ornery, Dear Daughter WishingStar.....

I figured it out....did you post something sosmeplace else?

Well.....I see me being adopted went over like a lead balloon....

Oh well.....maybe Santa has some leftovers.....

AHOY CRUISIN! ! :boat:

Thank goodness you're back!!!

Keeping the TK-ers in line while you were gone was almost like a real job!

I wasn't too bossy....but....I was firm.....and fair.... ::yes:: .....firm & fair....

how come you didn't juggle some cookies while exotically tap dancing?

it's a mystery to me...

HollyAnn finished ALL her breakfast....so...I let her go to the movies...

DalPal.....she was good.....she didn't have to be old more than once to do her chores....so I let her go see the Incredibles....

TiggerWannaBE was pretty well behaved....
she made a nice offer to post pictures....

so I let her take her DD to the Mall...
the went to Mickey D's....and I asked

"and?"

there was no "and".....i don't know how a body goes to a Mall without trouble...but...she did it....GOLD STAR!

MamaJoan stoped in to take care of Kim....so....when I see her next time...I'll tell her she can go to a drive-in movie....

Kim's been under the weather...even though there was no roast beef left over....

SOMEBODY HAD an apetite....

anyway....she has a flu....

her temps were high....

I think she was delirious from the high temps....she said she'd adopt me....

she was sound as a button though...when she agreed you should fling some cookies at me....

LuckyMommyx2 studied her football...so she gets a GOLD STAR!

PrincessaC helped keep an eye on everybody...she was an invaluable help...she gets a GOLD STAR!

well...there you have it....

everybody was pretty good.....

and NO!....i did not say you were the egger-onner....

but.....

PSST! Hey Lurkers!

why are you sitting there? Cruisin's ! :boat: back....

rustle her up some squirrel McNuggets and a dorito...
