 Ann, have a good rest.

Talk with you again soon I hope.

So BP, do you find that one neighbourhood is better than another in regards to the amount and types of candy that you get when you trick or treat????

and............. what kind of candy do you give out at your house???

Should I drop by and get some????????

WHAT in tarnation is happening here tonight? I didn't get a SINGLE email that anyone posted, and last night, when I last got one (Robin), I couldn't get on! Oh well.

Hey Everybodeeeeee!!!

Are you guys serious, no trick or treating until dark? Yikes. We're starting about noon, to go by car to my parent's, then my aunt's, and around 2 we'll hit the Trunk & Treat at school. I am planning on being home for dinner. It's fine if trick or treaters come to my house though, up until about 9pm, but my little one will be in bed by then. ::yes:: It's a school night. Can't say the same for my DS, who plans to START about 6.

Robin, I think you & I have the exact same weather. It was SOOO windy today that while driving I was literally getting nervous about all the leaves and stuff BLOWING across the streets. Never know what else is in all that.

Kelly had Brownies this morning and everyone dressed up with costumes. She was Cinderella, and there was a Jasmine, and a Tinkerbell, just 3 Disney ones. ;) There were also a couple witches, a Powerpuff girl, a bride, and a Barbie princess, that I remember. I have to say that, besides my DD of course, that Tinkerbell was sooooo cute! ::yes::

We followed that exciting morning with homework, which DD gladly did for what I think was about 2 hours. Then she got tired, and wanted a break. She also read several books later on for about an hour total. Oh, and when she took a 'break', she was on the Disney 'puter creating a Halloween picture for her gramma & papa.

For dinner, now this is exciting  , we went to the eatery where DS was working, and embarrassed him, so he says. Heck, we gotta eat ya know? ;) Anyway, we got free ice cream again! ::yes:: (I didn't eat mine, I put it in DDs root beer, to make a float) ;) DS topped my husband's ice cream with chocolate syrup, so he was happy to finish his off. :D

Well I sure hope tomorrow is less windy, a little warmer, and a little sunnier. I know, that's asking too much, especially in Chicago.

Turn back those clocks everyone, and stay up an hour later! :p

Yup, those leaves were sure swirling and blowing around today.

What eatery does your son work for??? What does he do there and do they serve good food??

It's called Wally's, Robin. It's considered a high-class fast food joint. :p I was amazed tonight to see so many tables with rib dinners! Not that they aren't good, but they are expensive. They are always busy! Tonight, DS was learning order-taking, although he's been there about a month already. He does anything/everything except cooking. Drinks, shakes, filling orders, now taking orders/cash register, cleaning tables, garbage, the usual. It pays minimum wage, and in cash, no taxes.....don't tell. ;) Kelly & I had shrimp dinners, while my husband had a gyros plate. Total was $9.75, and that was 1/2 off! But hey, FREE ice cream. :hyper: He worked on Thursday night, then again today, and they wanted him again tomorrow, but he's struggling to get a project and a paper done for school, so he told them he can't work tomorrow, plus he's still got that cough, and he thinks the owner is not too pleased with him, especially after taking off for my MILs death. :( He doesn't think he'll get fired, but he feels bad having to take the time off. Ahhhh, youth. ;)

Sounds like a nice place. Did you eat there before he started to work there?

I won't tell about the cash thing. Our shop sometimes does stuff for a local meat store and they pay us in meat, (steaks, chicken etc). That goes straight into our freezer at home ::yes:: :teeth:

I guess it is good that he cares about whether he goes to work or not. Lots of young people don't give a hoot whether they show up or not.

My son is coughing today still too. He starts his job tomorrow night.

Yay, I didn't end up having to go out and pick up my daughter because she got a ride home. I had the front door locked and she said how come you locked me out? (she had a key). I just said, well, I wasn't expecting you to come home on your own now was I, when we had arranged that I pick you up at a certain time!!!!

Oh YES, we ate there a lot before he started, and before I started WW! :p Now we only go there because he does work there. ;)

Paid in meat?!?! NICE deal!!! ::yes::

I know he's a really good kid, but he worries so much, and I don't blame him. He has taken off a bit much lately, considering everything, and he doesn't want to get fired, but he's also worried about his grades, which are more important, imo. ::yes:: He certainly doesn't HAVE to work, I give him everything he needs, but he wanted to get a job, so why not? I was working at his age, but I never struggled with school. At least I think he has his priorities straight, school before work. October was just a bad month, for ALL of us. :(

I hope BOTH our DSs can shake this cough soon! Good luck to yours on starting that job!!!! :sunny:

And YAY! You didn't have to go out late driving tonight! Always a PLUS! ::yes:: Glad she's home safe, too. ;)

1am, almost time to turn back those clocks. ;)

Our clocks have turned back already. It is funny to see posts on the DISboards that are earlier times than previous posts ::yes::

The computer and the VCR have automatically changed their times.

I wish my daughter would worry just a little bit about her school work. She does passably well but she could do much better is she actually did any work. I have told her that the cardboard box the new fridge comes in will probably be her future home ;)

My son was the same way and he found out when he applied for colleges and universities that he should have worked just a bit harder in highschool. In college he has gotten all A's and B's except one English class which he failed but did again at night school and got an A in. But then again, what he is taking at college is something that interests him. I think that makes a big difference right there.

Well, I have to call it a day.

Liz has to be at driver training for 9, so I can't sleep in either :(

Have a good rest of the night Kim and I will talk to you tomorrow I hope!

HUGE difference! My DS LOVES his broadcasting class, which encompasses radio, TV, making movies, etc. He's great with that class, in his 3rd year now, but the other stuff...forget about it! C average usually, which is fine, and he WORKS for those C's, but as you say, colleges look differently upon that. :(

BTW, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! ;)

Happy Halloween!!!

I hope everyone remembered to turn their clocks back before bed last night! I have to go set the VCR clock yet :badpc:
I don't think I even turned on the computer yesterday. We had ballet class and rehersals for 5 hours yesterday and as soon as we got home from that we were changing to go to a friend's house for trick or treatings. After keeping track of 10 kids walking for two miles through a dark neighborhood, I was beat! :faint: My princess and pirate made out like little bandits! My princess actually had to be carried to the last five houses because her glass slippers were hurting after all the ballet earlier. She was kind enough to offer a piece of candy in return for my services. :lovestruc  puckerup:

I do believe today is the half-way point for football! Already?!? BP, I'm so disappointed in myself. I checked out my team this morning and over half of them are on byes!!! How could I let this happen?!?! I still have a WR to try to pick up and now I'm desperately trying to decide whether to play Delhomme who I have on my roster or pick up a QB for the week which would be one of the following: Brees, Testedverde(sp?) or Warner. I really don't want any of them but :headache: :headache: I can't afford to slip any further in the polls!! HELP!!!

Hope everyone has a great day! It's really warm here and I should go out and mow once more--maybe tomorrow. We're going to dress the kids up once more just to visit our neighbors later today. I guess we'll have to sprint to the neighbors during halftime. ;) :p

Good Morning fellow TKs,
And Happy Halloween!..............................................................BOO!
Did I scare Ya?????
Well I spent the night baking cookies and brownies......Today Ill make cupcakes...
I only get my DGKs for trick or treaters...So I bake...I figure they get plenty of candy from the other places. I use to make caramel apples, but they were to hard to transport home.
BP...great Halloween story. Im afraid though, I wouldnt be able to actually ride in my saddle backwards.....I am strickly a forward rider.....I use to stand on my horse under an apple tree and pick apples for him however! ...I think that is the only reason he stood still to let me get to them( he was my first and best horse...I dont have him anymore). Boy I was young a foolish, .......If he desided to go I would have been in deep Doodoo. Needless to say I dont do things like that anymore...
Boy It was soooo beautiful yesterday.....Got alot done......Trailer is almost all gone now.:teeth:
Today I get my DGDs as the norm, but they will leave early for Trick or treating.....
Well time to do my chores,

Hi everyone! I got to leave early today - there were SO many volunteers, that I scooted out....not enough phones to work on! Besides, I'll be there all day Mon & Tues!

Talk to ya'll later! A

Have a nice nap Ann and enjoy your evening out with your family.

I will be here handing out goodies to the trick or treaters!

<bgsound src="http://www.gospel2motown.com/midi/sounds/5060s/monday.mid">

Happy Monday, Monday everyone!

Had the absolute best WDW trip yet! Arrived home last night after a very long day of travelling- It started at 3:00AM ( after clock change) and we finally got home at 7:30pm:hyper:

Well you all posted way too much for me to read. so again you'll have to bring me up to speed.

Went to the castle for lunch (like Robin & Ann suggested) and I told Cindy that I tell all my friends that I'm going to live in this castle (i didn't tell her I call it MY castle) and she said "that's Ok, because there's more than enough room for more than 1 princess
princess: "

It was so fun, I'll post the links when ( and if ) I get my trip report done.

 Wow!

I really need to get the internet at home, it has taken me since 10 this am to catch up on what everyone's written this weekend. LOL.

This is also my first post since changing my avatar...
it's my Mom and me at MGM, Christmas 2002. You likey???

Kim: I saw the trunk or treat on the news, looked like fun. Block party halloween style.;)

HA: Glad to see you taking care of yourself. Sneaking in a nap( :jumping1: )and going out to dinner with the hubby is good for the soul. No worries, it'll all be over soon...

Cruisin: I got hooked on glass shelves staying in vacation homes. That was one of our must haves when our fridge died.

Mamudduck: Welcome Back! Gotta love that castle huh? We ate there once, back in 1993 & I still recommend it when others ask if they should eat there.

I went to my first college open house with my 16yo this weekend. She wants to go to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. What a wake up call! My baby girl is growing up. :sad1:

I even did some DIS homework while we were there. Some DISers are having a meet in Philly on Nov 13th & I grabbed some tourist info for them to go to the Liberty Bell & Constitution Center.

I'm glad to see everyone had a good weekend. Talk to y'all tomorrow.:wave2:

Hi everyone! I'm just here to say hello! I just got home and I'm going to be back at campaign HQ in 12 hours. I'll be there from 7am til 7pm, the polling hours, then to the volunteer party!

So, HI everyone, and bye everyone! Ann
