OMG! I totally forgot to tell you! We're going to call the family sometime this week and see how she's doing.....because my dad is going in the hospital for surgery on his back on November 9th!

The surgery isn't life threatening, but he's getting old (I'm a late in life child at 40) and the last time he had surgery, he had a real tough recovery that put him back in the hospital - so we're worried!

Anyway, we're torn in two. We talked to the folks and they want us to go up.....I guess we're playing that one by ear! We want his DS to hang on, but you never can tell and with Dad & his heart and other difficulties, it's worrisome, too! I anticipate we'll go to PA sometime right after election and only stay around a week, then head home....see how Dad is and then head back to PA if we need to. At this point.........who knows!

Do you guys have traditional Halloween trick or treating - the kids just go out sometime after dark. Or do they go out during the day light.??

Here we have after dark trick or treating, usually starts right around 6pm.

Are you going out with the Grandchildren BP or staying home to scare away all the little ghosts and goblins??

How about you Ann, will you be home in time for trick or treaters or will you still be volunteering??

Well, we usually pass out candy to the kiddies (after dark) and hot mulled cider to the adults (also after dark!). This year, I just cannot sit with candy & chocolate on my lap after the doc restricted my diet.

So..........DH and I took the $$$ we would normally use for the kiddies treats and we're headed to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner on Halloween just after the sun sets.....or we're done volunteering. With the turning the clock forward - you never know!

Anyway, I'm going to enjoy that steak!

Sorry to hear about all of your troubles Hollyann.

Sounds like you guys might be yo-yoing back and forth across the country for awhile. I hope everything works out okay.

The people who are cruising with us in January, the lady had emergency surgery a few weeks back to correct something from a previous surgery. She is still not doing well and is going to see another surgeon. She had some complications after this last surgery.

I hope that she will be well enough to cruise with us in January. One of the main reasons we booked this cruise was so they could go along with us.

I still plan on going even if they can not for some reason. I don't know what Rick's thoughts on the subject are but I am really looking forward to going on the Magic and would not want to cancel.

I am guessing that you have some help too to handle that many kids, especially since a couple are little ones

You know I just thought of something. I bought a ton of glow bracelets when the dollar store closed. Maybe I should hand out one of those to each of the kids that come by tomorrow night along with their treat bags. They might get a kick out of that.

Cruisin - my nose is doing okay! I tend to let my soda's sit. If they're in the can, they get extra bubbly. If they're in the glass.....the ice dilutes them! I would be on here with ya'll much more if I didn't have such a crazy schedule! Do you realize that today is the first time I've taken a nap (a REAL one - not what you're thinking!!) in about 2 weeks?

Thanks for your good wishes - you two are great friends! Hope to see you on the boards tomorrow! I've got to get some sleep! DH is waiting and my eyes are getting droopy!

Well this is a hard poll to answer because we don't have some of those brands of candy here.

I like the gum drops and I like Mounds better than Almond Joy (we have neither of those chocolate bars here in Canada), no Milky Ways either or Jr mints that I know of.

Aren't we deprived?????


Here they sell a lot of O'Henry's, Smarties, Cadbury Caramilks, Crispy Crunch to mention a few. Chips are really popular here too.

I am not really much of a candy lover I guess, I could live without any of it.
